If Gibbs had been paying attention, he would have noticed that at no time did DiNozzo call him anything but AIC Gibbs. And, if he were on the ball and seeing anything other than what Liaison Mossad Officer Dav’id told him, he would have realized his 2iC was shot…twice, and did not, in fact, have “just a scratch.” Of course, if he were seeing anything but what he wanted too, he would have also noticed that the warmth of his 2iC’s eyes had been leeched out to a dark cold sea green color too.
But Gibbs was not being very observant this day, and had, in fact, smacked his 2iC across the back of the head and told him to quit milking a cut and get his ass over to the crime scene he was stupid enough to leave.
Leaving without bothering to receive confirmation as to whether DiNozzo would follow his commands, or would, instead, follow protocol.
Tony watched as neither Gibbs nor Ziva waited for him, as they took off. Not even bothering to do this scene, or even secure it till someone else could come and process it.
So, he called, first Morrow (whom he still trusted to get things done vs Madam Jenny), to get people down there to finish securing the scene and take it from him. And, just as important, called in the gun bunnies to process both scenes and get both his guns and Ziva’s for the mandatory shooting review that would have to be done.
After that, he called Commander Brad Pitt, his now primary doctor, to set up for his coming in with bullet wounds and to send in medics to treat him on site along with an ambulance to bring him in.
Brad made him stay on the phone while they waited. And, as Tony went about securing the scene, with the help of the SP’s, knew just from the tone of his voice his old friend was beyond pissed. So was preparing for a skyrocketed blood pressure to go along with everything else and was getting things ready to get that down as well.
He even knew it was bad when he asked if he should contact Gibbs as Tony’s POA and MPOA, and Tony told him he was quite lucid enough to make his decisions thank you very much, but before getting him all doped up, please have both forms ready to change them over to a Ms. Heather Kesler out in Vegas. And rattled off her number so he could fax the forms out to her for her signature. So she could sign and fax them back to him and the Admin. Office.
By this time people had started to show up, including the medics and ambulance, so Tony let Brad go and turned his attention to the newcomers.
Scene techs took over while an agent moved with him to sit on the boards of the ambulance as the medics cut off his jacket and shirt to get at wounds (And the agent tagged and bagged them).
Before they began treatment, Tony insisted the agent get before pictures, and only then, allowed treatment as long as no narcotics were administered as he had important things to do beforehand.
The agent and the medics commented on how calm he was about being shot twice. Tony told them ‘It wasn’t calm, it was being into the cold pissed part of anger they were currently seeing.’
He properly turned over his guns to the gun bunnies for the shooting review and was making a detailed account of exactly what went down. From Gibbs’ order to go out to the docks, to this scene.
He went into detail that they would have to check the crate for ricochet marks. As his so-called partner shot at the lock while they were locked inside…. twice. Hence his wounds. Meaning he was shot by friendly fire, and not enemy fire. And to check ballistics for the bullets they would find inside against both his weapon and his partners, to get evidence that she was the one who shot inside a locked steel container.
Then check the team’s accounts on just where everyone was last night. And gave them his alibi. As he had worked on his neighbor’s door, which kept locking her out of the bathroom whenever it shut.
And he hypothesized that it was convenient that he was shot the day after the get together he was snubbed on and excluded from by the one who made the exclusion. And it was interesting how a trained Mossad Agent suddenly could not hit the broad side of a barn when they were being shot at, wasn’t it? And yet each shot he made hit its mark.
With that, the Homeland Agent put out a call ‘to keep all NCIS personnel away from Agent DiNozzo while he was in the hospital. Including putting a full complement of guards on his room. As there was probable cause of an assassination attempt on his life by a foreign agent with the collusion of NCIS agents. And if nothing else, he wanted the MCRT-1 team picked up for questioning for Callous Indifference to the Welfare of a Federal Agent and possible Pre-Meditated Collusion to Attempted Murder of the same agent.
‘He did not care how they brought Agent’s Gibbs or Dav’id in, and if they resist then add that to the charges against them and put them in full restraints for the safety of others.
‘Especially Dav’id as she has made unprovoked threats against the agent and anyone who gets in her way.
‘Treat her as armed and dangerous and take her down in any way shape or form that does not impede their mission or endanger themselves.’
By this time Tony was fully treated as much as they could do at the scene, so he was loaded into the ambulance for the trip to Bethesda with the agent getting onboard to travel with them.
And they were off.
Leaving a true firestorm behind as the arrests were carried out and the team was arrested on site.
