"You know, most people on valentines give the present to their loved one."
Eren bumped his hip against Armin, "This is way better! Don't diss the grind." When Eren said he had the best Valentine's gift for him, Armin couldn't sleep he was so excited. This wasn't what he expected.
"At least pass me the flour," Armin said as he pointed to the bag of flour sitting by Eren's sheet of cookie dough.
Eren smiled and grabbed the flour. He handed it to Armin with a kiss on the cheek, "Happy Valentine's day!"
Armin rolled his eyes as he tried to will away the blush on his cheeks. Baking cookies for himself wasn't really what he expected to do on Valentine's day. But, he guessed he could tolerate it if Eren was there with him.
"Don't expect me to say it in return," Armin sneered playful. He opened the flour and took a pinch. He sprinkled the flour over his cookie dough and reached for a heart shaped cookie cutter.
Eren, however, was unimpressed by Armin's reply and decided to meddle with his cookie making.
"You butthead!" Eren shouted and stole the cookie cutter right from Armin's hands.
Armin's jaw dropped, "What the hell?" He reached for the cookie cutter, though Eren dodged and raised his hand high.
"I hope you know I'm not jumping," Armin rolled his eyes. It was just like Eren to try to turn something sweet and wholesome into something dirty.
"Aww," Eren feigned sadness, "How did you know? I thought it was pretty clever."
Armin giggled softly at Eren's display, "I've known you since we were in diapers. Did you really think I wouldn't have you figured out by now?" Armin teased his lover, "That's the exact same trick you used on me last week to get me to sleep with you."
Eren shrugged and wrapped his arms around Armin's shoulders, "Can't help it, you're so hot when you're mad," Armin snagged the cookie cutter from his hands.
He placed the cookie cutter back on the counter before embracing Eren and pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"Mmm," Eren hummed and kissed him back, "I love you."
The warmth of Eren's arms around his shoulders was comforting, but it was starting to make him sweat, "I love you too, but let's get back to baking."
Eren pouted, "You sure?" It was hard to resist Eren, especially when he looked at Armin like that. It took immense strength to not give in.
"Isn't this your Valentine's gift to me?" Armin smirked as Eren dropped his arms in defeat, "Finish the cookies and then we can do whatever you want."
Eren liked the sound of that. He perked up like a dog and quickly turned to face his barely used cookie dough.
"You better mean that," Eren couldn't hide the giddiness in his voice.
"Have I ever lied to you, love?" Armin asked rhetorically and gently cut a heart shape in his dough.
"Not that I know of," Eren replied, "Unless that time when we were five and you said we'd go to space together counts."
"I was misinformed! That's different from lying," Armin protested, "And I can't say the same for you!"
Eren gasped, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means, you promised me a good Valentine's gift from the heart and you didn't finish it." Armin poked Eren's side before cutting out another heart.
"But this is more fun!" Eren whined, "We get to spend the whole day together! That's a good gift."
Armin smiled lovingly. He might've been playing up his annoyance, but that's because he couldn't show Eren how much he appreciated this over any dumb gift.
This was personal, this was special, this was something only the two of them could have, it couldn't be bought at a store. Armin was positive this was better than any gift out there.
"We see each other every day, doofus," Armin laughed and tossed the cookie cutter to him.
"I hope we never have a day apart," Eren admitted nonchalantly, "I want to see you every day."
Armin swooned. How did he manage to get so lucky? Who could he thank for that?
He wasn't sure if he'd ever know what he did to deserve this. He was content with that. He didn't need anything more than Eren by his side.
"You're a sap, you know," Armin said as he put the heart shaped cookies onto the tray. He slid the tray over to Eren who did the same with his.
"I can't help it when I'm with you," He bowed and handed the tray to Armin.
"Blech," Armin stuck his tongue out, "I can smell the cheese, cheesy bastard."
"Hey!" Eren shouted and lunged towards Armin. Armin dodged and ran over to the oven, laughing as Eren followed him.
They both knew he wasn't going to do anything. If Eren wanted to catch Armin, he could do it without a struggle. This was just a friendly game of cat and mouse.
"Lemme put the cookies away!" Armin shrieked as he danced around the kitchen to escape Eren's wrath.
"Lemme kiss you!" Eren shouted back and ran after Armin one last time. Armin dodged again and finally was able to get the oven open.
He shoved the tray of cookies in and slammed it closed. He turned the oven on quickly and spun back around to face Eren.
"Eren!" Armin screamed as he saw Eren stuffing his face with raw cookie dough, "Stop! You'll get sick!"
He ran over to Eren's side and swiped the remains away. He tossed them in the trash and turned back to Eren, who had already finished what he ate.
"You're such a buzz kill," Eren groaned and drew shapes into the left over flour.
"Don't ask me for help when you're throwing that up in a few hours." Armin retorted and walked over to Eren's side.
"I'll make sure to pester you," Eren said as he wrapped an arm around Armin's waist. He pecked the side of his head, then his cheek, then his nose, and soon he was kissing every spot on Armin's face.
Armin grinned bashfully, his cheeks turning red. He couldn't be more happy.
