My Confused Heart
Chapter One
The war between the evil lord of the lower world and the people and other creatures of the surface world was devastating. It left behind it many destroyed civilizations, especially, in Orizam and Carl even some parts of Papinika still under maintenance. The team of the hero decided to give a hand to the destroyed countries to help them restore their original glory.
Crocodile, Chiu and the other beasts aslo joined in the task of the reconstruction of the damaged properties. Nova, Badak and Lon Beruk were responsible for making new equipments to help the workers in their various tasks. Hyunckel, Apolo, Aimi and Leona were responsible for the planning and designs. Flora returned to Carl after the war immediately but Avan stayed behind for a little while to help Pop and Merle in planting gardening. Maam, Crocodine, Hym, Dai, and Larhart chose the heavy work. They went to cut trees or rocks and carry them and other building materials to the workers in the construction sites.
Every night the whole team met in the great dinning hall of Papnica palace to share a hearty meal with each other and exchange their stories about what they had achieved everyday or to discuss what they should do next. After the dinner everyone had the freedom to do what he or she wants for the rest of the evening. Badak, Crocodine, Hym and Chiu chose to stay outside on the hills surrounding the great palace and enjoy their drinks together while chatting or playing some games.
Leona always kidnaps the poor Dai and forces him to join her in her nightly routines. Such as visiting the stables to cuddle her pony, visiting the kitchen to steal some cookies or any snacks she wants at midnight, sneaking out of the palace to enjoy the busy streets or any other little adventures that satisfies her wimps. Sometimes, Larhart would join them or follow them silently to make sure that his lord Dai was not doing anything dangerous with this crazy wimpy princess.
There is always tension between the last group of friends. Hyunckel, Popp, Maam, Merle and Aimi. Sometime, they walk around the busy streets, buy somethings that they need or go to a certain cafe that they enjoy it's drinks. Although, the members of these group respect each other as warriors and fellow in work but jealousy is palpable between them. Popp and Hyunckel fight silently over the feelings of the pink-haired young beauty. They try to compete each other who will make her smile more or give her small gifts more.
Merle will try to distract Popp's attention away from Maam by talking to him about anything or trying to steer him away from her. Aimi will try to do the same thing with Hyunckel but the immortal warrior is a tough-nut. His eyes are always fixed on the form of the female fighter. Maam always feels frustrated most of the times.
She was confused about her feelings for both Pop and Hyunkel. She cherishes her friendship with both the immortal warrior and the great magician, but in terms of romantic feelings she is inexperienced and does not know how to distinguish between feelings of love for a friend or brother and feelings for a lover.She was confused about her feelings for both Pop and Hyunkel. And what made the matter more complicated is that she knows the truth about Merly's feelings towards Pop and Aimy's feelings towards Hyunkel, so both girls love a young man who is after her. If she chooses Pop, Merly will be sad and miserable, and if she chooses Hyunkel, she will break Aimy's heart. If she chooses to reject both, she could lose her only chance to find her happily ever after.
After a few weeks had passed like this, Pop felt upset and wanted to get a definitive answer from Maam, as he wanted to get married, settle down, and start a family with the woman he loved. Therefore, he chose a time when Mam would sit alone, rehearse some martial movements, and come forward to talk to her privately.
Pop called Maam and said to her: "Can you stop for a while so we can talk?", the pink-haired fighter stopped her strenuous movements immediately and fixed her eyes on the young magician. He approached her hesitantly then he put both his hands on her shoulders and looked intently on her honey-colored eyes and said calmly,
" Few weeks had passed since the fall down of the demon king and you have not given me an answer to my confession. I want to know if you can love me romantically as I love you or no. Because if you have the same feelings towards me, I will marry you by the end of this year." Pop threw the bomb and he stared at his beloved eyes so he could find the answer there. The words were sudden and shocking to Maam but it was much more shocking and devastating on Merle who followed Pop all the way without his notice. Before Maam could utter a word, they heard a gasp from behind followed by a heavy thud. The martial fighter and the magician turned their head to investigate the strange noise and to their dismay, they found Merle on the ground unconscious.
