Troy's body shivered under Abed's touch, 'oh fuck' why did this feel so good? It's not like the sensation was new, for as much times Troy's placed his hand on Abed's shoulders, he's occasionally grazed Troy's nape. But this felt new, possessive and dominating, Troy hoped that while his mind was screaming internally, he wasn't making embarrassing sounds externally.
Fortunately it seems that he didn't, but unfortunately, silence sometimes spoke louder than words to Abed Nadir.
"Troy, you-"
no no no, this was too much. Even the thought of trying to open his mouth to answer something, felt like the hardest thing to do. But if all his little logic and reasoning failed his lips sure didn't.
"I have rabies!" As soon as the words were left spoken, there was awkward pause, and Troy continued to look everywhere but directly at his companion. How could he when those beady eyes would surely look into his soul, he couldn't even imagine now what it'd reflect.
With all the buzzing in Troy's head, he didn't notice as his body was moved by gentle hands. Only noticing the lack of thoughts in his head, when he could smell Abed. God, how could he even describe the smell? He didn't want to try, but a part of his new wolf brain was satisfied that Abed scent was mingled with his.
After a few more seconds of calm, Abed spoke up again, monotone but gentle. " You have been more irritated lately, but you don't have rabies Troy, if it'd help I could list all the common symptoms, but I think I'd rather ask you a few things."
Abed shifted only slightly, which was when Troy realized he had been resting on Abed's lap the whole time. His stomach was making butterflies, while his waist and neck felt tingly from where Abed continues to be touching him, skin to skin.
"Go ahead buddy" he answered back
"Okay, feel free to stop me if I start to sound too crazy" Troy would vehemently disagree with Abed ever being that, but he knew there was more to convey. " At first I thought an incident might have occurred off screen, something to regress your character back into the stereotypical jock."
in a self soothing motion while Abed reflects, The thumb on Troy's waist rubbed back and forth on the other's skin. " You weren't angry Troy, but your face showed signs of displeasure anytime physicality" pause. "Strength came into play recently."
Troy deflated into Abed's shoulder, he can only imagine how weird his antics were recently to his friend(?)
"We hang out a lot, so the next observation was less noticeable to me. But increased possessiveness, and physical affection showed whenever there was a brief time of distance."
Troy knew there was still more to tell, so he was surprised when Abed gave him room to lean back from his hold and faced him. And despite previous anxieties? Embarrassments? Troy did.
Huh, looking at Abed, being around Abed, how did he forget how easy it was?
As easy as breathing
"Sorry, I've been speaking for a while. And there won't be any cut to flashbacks for the audience, so it probably doesn't help to speak what you already know."
God he loved this man, Troy's smile was beaming before he spoke "But I don't have rabies."
"No rabies," Abed shared in his smile. "But I presume on the night Shirley got chased by a werewolf you coincidentally got bit on the same night." The honest conclusion had Troy's mouth agape.
"Abed!"
"Troy"
Smiles between the two.
"Abed!"
"Troy!"
Laughter filled the shared space.
"W-when? How even?" Troy spoke between giggles, one of his hands attempting to hide his wide smile. "Abed you're so smart it's like actually scary, I think even you somehow knowing I'm a werewolf is inhuman."
Abed nodded In agreement, "it would be, I probably would have never figured it out. But you suggested watching The Twilight Saga Eclipse."
Troy couldn't see how the film came into play. Sure he was hoping to gain further insight, and vampires were always a sexy nice. But he remembers his feelings the day after watching, disappointment.
A boop to the nose, and Troy's focus returned to latch onto Abed's next words. "As the movie confirmed Jacob was no longer a running candidate for Bella's affection, you started crying and asking me if I thought Edward was better"
Oh, did he do that?
Troy never felt more blessed that darker skin hid blushing well
"While we both would have agreed previously to Edward being the better, if still equally toxic stalker candidate. It was only when I confirmed your question that you started sobbing, and transformed right beside me."
Huh, I guess it could be as simple as that, if there was one thing Troy could never hide well. Especially from Abed of all people, it was when he was emotional. "Wait so I became a big, giant, hairy ass wolf and you weren't scared at all?" He remarked, taking a second to reflect in amazement.
Said amazement quickly changed to more of a pout "wait does this mean you've seen another werewolf before me??"
"Mmm right, I think it's about time now that I clarified. No there's been no werewolves before you"
"What about-"
"No vampires either"
"Aww"
"Yeah, if there were vampires they'd probably be more Nosferatu than Edward Cullen anyway. Troy Colorado isn't big on wolf populations, and while I did predict Shirley being chased by a werewolf. Based on how you looked in complete transformation, I think it's safe to say–"
Abed paused, his face showing no signs of continuing until Troy's brain catched up and started to play along, filling the pause with a drum roll.
"You're a weredog, not as cool as a werewolf, but what you lack in ferociousness you make up for in adorable looks." Abed's eyes squinted at the end of his compliment, one that sounded far too directed at Troy outside of his weredog status.
He made an audible gulp.
If Troy had a chance to look behind him, he'd see the credits for the movie had begun to roll.
"If it was you versus an Edward Cullen vampire I'd pick you everytime."
And how could Troy stop himself from falling heels over head in love with his friend, his best best friend.
He was definitely gonna start crying, his heart felt so damn full. But before he did that, there needs to be a 'proper' ending.
"Abed, please kiss me" and if that wasn't said urgently enough, along with his kiss me eyes. "Please." Troy stresses one more time
Abed does.
It's only a 10 second kiss.Troy was getting a very strong urge to bark at 9 seconds, (Abed kept track)
So, maybe in the grand scheme of things not all that special. But there'd be a lot more kisses throughout their life.
And it's going to be a better love story than twilight.
