Naturally, the autumn season brought leaves to eventually transition towards a reddish-orange hue. As a plethora of them broke contact with the branches, flowing towards the park trail, one instead landed on a bench between two individuals. It caught the attention of one.
Michiru spared a long glance at the leaf, barely shifting from the moderate wind. After a brief thought, she used her thumb and forefinger to pinch the stem, subsequently spinning it.
She turned to her boyfriend, who read through an autobiography of one of his favorite shamisen players.
“Say, Bansai.”
The mentioned man lowered the book onto his lap with his thumb on the page he paused.
“Yes?”
“How do you feel about me bringing you over to my place on Halloween?” Michiru suggested, shifting her gaze towards her feet.
“I’m not against the idea, but have you talked about this to your sister?”
A crooked smile held upon her features. “Not yet, but I will when I get home. I just hope it doesn’t get awkward, knowing her.”
“Also, why specifically on Halloween?” Bansai quirked a brow up.
“I wanna try watching some horror movies, but I can’t bring myself to watch them alone and Mika definitely won’t want to join.”
He blinked once behind his glasses, soon followed by a corner of his lips twisting up. “All right. Have you decided on the movies?”
“I only have one in mind, but I’ll pick out a few more when I have time.”
Returning her focus to the leaf, Michiru’s smile slowly became more natural the more she scanned down the lines and color.
“Right now, I want to enjoy this moment.”
Holding the leaf in front of them, Michiru planted a kiss on his lips.
