Chapter Text
Helena looked outside, the day was very cloudy. School was almost over and news that most of the roads were closed spread like wildfire across the school. People wondered how they were going to get home, but everyone always found a way. This wasn't usually a problem for Helena since most of the time she walked home with a group of friends, so she wasn't too worried.
The bell rang and Helena went to go meet up with her friends, Esti and Alva. "Hey Helena" Esti waved at Helena. "Due too bad weather and ice, most walking routes are closed, it seems we have to take a route through the forest"
"But nobody has ever taken that path before... I don't think we should risk it" Alva stated, a little bit of worry in his voice. "Helena, what do you think?" Esti asked
"Well, i mean, its such a small forest, i''m sure we'll be fine" Helena responded. "Ugh whatever, i feel like we shouldn't take dangerous routes like that but anyways" Esti stuck her tongue out at Alva. Alva, Esti and Helena had always been close, even if it didn't seem that way to most. Helena was more composed and mature then Alva and Esti, so most of the time she took things more seriously and it was hard to joke with her. "Alright lets get going, slow pokes!" Esti shouted from across the hall. "Hey! Wait up!" Alva and Helena rushed to catch up with Esti.
A few hours pasted but they were no where near home. "What should we do? Were lost!" Alva stated in an angry tone. "Shut up! No were not, lets just keep going forward"
"We've been out here for hours, the clouds have cleared up and the sun is setting, lets call emergency services." Helena ruffled in her bag to find her phone but too no avail, it wasn't there. "I could have sworn i had brought my phone to school..." Helena checked again, but it was gone. "Guys, check for your phones" Esti and Alva checked their bags, but they weren't there. The moon was high up in the sky, yet they could see a sliver of shining light of the ground
"Guys, what's that?" Helena shivered. "It looks like some kind of hatch or door, but why out here?" Esti ran over to it and Alva and Helena soon followed. "There's a crowbar, someone tried to pry the door open but couldn't" Esti grabbed the crowbar and started trying to pry it open. "What are you doing?! We don't know where it leads, it could lead to somewhere dangerous!" Alva spat before attempting to grab the crowbar from Esti, but was unsuccessful.
"This could be our way out of here, besides, lets have an adventure for once!"
"What kind of logic is that? We don't know where it leads for the hundredth time, lets not invade someone's privacy" Alva was getting angrier and angrier with his tone. "Who cares, were lost out here with no phones and no communication, lets have fun for once" Esti pried the door open, it was very dusted. "Someone hasn't been here in a long time, I don't think anyone will catch us, and it doesn't seem as if anyone's even in the building.
"Fine..." The drop was steep, and it was completely pitch black with grey outlining. "On second thought, I'm not sure if its that safe..." Helena backed away a little. "Come on guys, lets go!" Esti dropped into the hatch, her body slowly disappeared. "Esti!" Alva yelled from the top. "I'm fine! Guys drop down you have to see this" Alva put one foot into the hatch and then dropped. Helena took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and then slowly descended into the hatch
