Megan wakes up to the sounds of her alarm going off. She groans and crawls out from bed to go make herself breakfast and get to work. When she goes to get herself a bowl of cereal she realizes she ran out of milk. Disappointed, she looks in the pantry for something else to eat and finds out she doesn’t have any food left to eat other than some stale crackers.
‘’Guess I’ll have to go grocery shopping today.’' She mumbles to herself.
She quickly makes a cup of coffee. It tastes bitter but Megan doesn’t mind and walks to her computer, dodging laundry and trash left on the floor. She opens up a drawing program to start working on the story boards for the next episode for a show she helps work on. The deadline is almost up so she needs to finish this fast. She doesn’t like her job nor does she dislike it. It's just a chore as with every other job. Megan manages to get through the work day without any phone calls or meetings.
She sighs and grabs her purse to go to the store. When she gets into her car, she notices a bug before quickly killing it with the bottom of her shoe. Before, Megan made a list of things she needed to buy. She'll need lots of stuff since she hasn’t gone to the store in a long while. Getting into the store she grabs a cart and gets everything she needs. While shopping she sees the same bugs as she saw in the car.
‘’They should really clean this place more often.’’ She thinks to herself.
Going to the self checkout. When she gets there, she's met with disappointment. ‘’OUT OF ORDER’’ the sign said. Megan considered just putting everything back but her cart was already filled to the top. So she walked to the cashier to get everything checked out. The entire time she started at the floor and waited while her heart was pounding. While staring at the floor, she noticed even more of the bugs crawling along her feet, but she ignored it, no one else was worried about them. After the cashier was done scanning all her items, she quickly swiped her card and grabbed her bags. She let out a sigh of relief and put all the items in her car and drove home. When Megan finally got home she put away all of her stuff. After that she grabs a pizza and puts it in the oven to eat for dinner. While she's waiting Megan gets on her computer and plays some video games. When she hears the beeping of the oven she gets up and grabs a plate to eat. While she's eating she checks the time, ‘’7;35’’ She has a couple of hours until bed so she finishes her pizza and goes to her room. And continues playing video games. Around 10pm Megan decides it's time to sleep and so she puts on her PJ’s and brushes her teeth. While getting into bed she hears a sound skittering in the walls but ignores it. While Megan is sleeping she gets woken up by the same sound except louder. It’s impossible to ignore. She turns on her light and looks around the room. Looking, She sees a tiny door. Confused, she walks toward it. Her heart was pounding. She was sure that she had seen the doorknob turn. When she opens the door the room begins to fill with the same bugs she had sawn that day, crawling on arms, back, legs, neck and everywhere around the room. Making her shiver and itch Even when she runs from the room the bugs follow her. She tries running out into the street but the people passing by don’t seem to notice the bugs or care about them. Megan, confused, walks back to her home and sits in the kitchen, bugs still there. After sitting for a while as the bugs continue to explore the home, she walks into her bedroom and goes to bed with the bugs, itching and shaking. She then wakes up to the sound of her alarm along with the bugs.
