The first time Juno Steel stuck his hand into his roommate’s robe pocket he was following a rumor that Peter Ransom had stolen something. So while Ransom was taking a shower he reached into his robe pocket to see if he couldn’t find the necklace.
The first thing he noticed when he shoved his hand into the pocket was that it was much deeper than it should have been. An extension charm, which was dubious if it was legal. Most extension charms were regulated by the Ministry due to the likelihood that they would be caught by muggles. Juno shakes the thought and just shoves his hand further into the pocket.
The first thing his hand touched was slimy. Juno’s nose wrinkles and he pulls out the time to see that it was food from the night before. Juno gags a little before vanishing it. Then Juno puts his hand back into the pocket and goes fishing for the necklace again. His hand hits something that felt like food again and he pulls his hand back out to see part of one of the sandwiches from lunch that day.
‘So Ransom is food insecure,’ Juno thinks as he vanishes the food again. Juno was just about to put his hand back into the pocket when he heard the water shut off. Juno makes sure the robe was where Ransom had left it before he makes his way down to the common room.

The second time Juno had put his hands into his roommate's pockets he had a better idea of what to expect. Knew that the pockets were endless. This time when he went looking for something that he had heard had gone missing he better planned out the time it would take to see if Ransom had the item. There was also the benefit that Juno had been able to predict better how long Ransom would stay in the shower, especially after what had happened in their potions class.
And so Juno had thirty minutes alone with Ransom’s robes to try and find a first year’s Moleskine pouch. The first few items that Juno pulled out included; a quill, a potion bottle, two rolls of parchment, one of Ransom’s textbooks, and a handful of galleons.
Juno sighed. ‘How the hell does Ransom ever find anything in his pockets? There is so much shit in them.’ The next few things that Juno pulled out included a few sketches, a bangle that Juno had seen on his wrist earlier that day, a sandwich, and Rita’s Ravenclaw tie.
Juno knew that it belonged to Rita due to all the salmon-scented snack dust all over it. ‘Rita had said she’d misplaced one of her ties. I can use this as proof to get Ransom expelled.’
Juno tucked all the stuff that he’d pulled out of Ransom’s pockets back into them. All except Rita’s tie. That he tucked into his own pockets before heading to Professor Aurinko’s office. But he was caught by Mick who needed his help with some of his homework. Juno sighed and just sat down next to him. He’d have time to give Professor Aurinko Rita’s tie. She had a class tonight which meant that she wouldn’t be going to sleep till much later.
When he went to leave the dorm and take the tie to Professor Aurinko he felt the pocket he’d put Rita’s tie in and it wasn’t there any longer. Juno sighed but continued to Professor Aurinko’s office. He had another reason to talk to her anyways. He should probably get that out of the way.

The third time Juno Steel shoved his hands into Peter Ransom’s pockets he had permission, technically. Juno stuck his hand into Peter’s pocket trying to get to the small knife that he had in his pocket. They had gotten tied up together by Cicel Kanagawa. For a group project.
“Remind me to request never to work with Cecil ever again.”
“Why do you think that the teacher had to pair us as they did? There isn’t anyone that wants to work with Cecil. Not even their sister wants to work with him.” Juno struggles to get his hand pulled back out of Peter’s pocket pretty sure that he had a hold of the knife.
He didn’t. It was a fork. Juno dropped it on the ground and shoved his hand back into the same pocket. He could feel several things that were definitely not the handle of a knife. Then his hand ran into something fuzzy that moved. “What the fuck do you have in your pockets, Ransom?”
“Just the normal things.”
Juno snorted. “I didn't think that you kept live things in your pocket.”
“I don’t.” Ransom sounded indignant.
Juno huffed and gripped the thing that was currently trying to get further into Ransom’s pockets. “You sure cause this seems to refute that.” Juno finally got a good grip on the thing and pulled it out of Ransom’s pockets. When he dropped it scurried around and Juno saw that it was a niffler.
“Ransom, you had a niffler in your pocket. Do you even own a niffler?” Juno let out a little laugh at the niffler trying to get back into Ransom’s robe pockets.
Ransom looked over at the niffler in wonder. “No. Most creatures tend to avoid me if I’m being honest. Professor McDaniels did mention that one of the nifflers from class had gone missing. I guess we found it.”
Juno huffed again. “I guess so. I hope that it hasn’t decided your knife was shiny enough to steal.” Peter groaned at that.
“Just stick your hand back in my pocket. I promise that it should be in that pocket.”
Juno huffed but put his hand back into Peter’s pocket. It took a while but Juno eventually found the knife tucked between the pages of Peter’s textbook. They collected the niffler as soon as they were free. They ran into Talfryn on the way to the Care of Magical Creatures class and he took over the watch of the niffler. Neither of them minded. It had been trying to get back into Peter’s pockets the entire time they were walking.

It had started as a normal day at Hogwarts. That was until Juno went to get something from his boyfriend’s pockets. Nureyev had taken his textbooks when he’d gotten into a duel with one of the seventh years who thought it was funny to make fun of a third year. Juno was just going to take them back but was required to head to the hospital wing to get his arm fixed up and so his textbooks ended up being shoved into Nureyev’s robe pockets. Which had long since been enchanted to be bottomless.
“Peter, which pocket did you say my books were in?” Juno yelled in the direction of the shared bathroom.
“Left side!” Nureyev yelled back.
Juno sighs and sinks his hand into Nureyev’s left side pocket. His textbooks should be near the top of the pocket, it hadn’t been that long since he’d handed the books over to Nureyev. Juno frowned when the first thing his hand landed on wasn’t a book. Juno let his hand close around the object and pulled it out. It was a necklace, one that had been on one of the seventh years that had been harassing the third year.
“You got to stop taking shit, Nureyev,” Juno mumbled as he stuck his hand back into the pocket. This time his hand closed around a muffin from breakfast. Juno sighed and set it aside. There were many reasons why Nureyev hoarded food in his pockets, but Juno wished that he'd at least wrap it in something.
The next thing Juno pulled from Nureyev’s pocket was a knife. Then a fanged frisbee that almost bit him. A Hufflepuff house tie was next, it probably had once belonged to Jet or Eiffel if you made Juno guess. Half a sandwich was next. Juno just vanished it, it was starting to grow things.
Juno shook his head. "Nureyev, you got to stop hoarding food for so long." Juno mouthed more than spoke.
Juno pulled his wand out of its holster and just summoned the textbooks using magic. There was the other half of the sandwich from earlier stuck to one of them and he vanished it too. Juno dropped the robe back onto Peter’s bed and went onto his bed to look over some of his readings.

Juno was regretting having had Nureyev take his stuff when he had to go to the hospital wing about his eye. Or to be more accurate, about his eye socket. Healer Willams and Professor Aurinko were both hopeful that he’d be able to have a prosthetic eye placed soon if he so wished. He didn’t, not after the fiasco that was his last one. He wasn’t ever going to have another prosthetic if he had his way. But that’s beside the point.
He’d forgotten about the appointment with Healer Williams until he was almost late. Meaning he didn’t have time to head up to the dorms and then to the hospital wing. So he’d given his stuff to Nureyev so he didn’t lose any of it in the hospital wing. No, instead he lost his stuff in his boyfriend’s pockets.
So he went digging in Nureyev’s pockets trying to find his partially started homework. “Damn it. I should have just taken it with me.” Juno continues to dig through the pocket, pulling out all manner of things. Anytime he came across food he vanished it.
Mick came into the room with his books tucked under his arm. “Are you still looking for your stuff?”
The yes that Juno answers with comes out more like a groan. “Peter keeps so much shit in his pockets. It’s not even funny.”
“I know. I once watched him spend five minutes digging around in there for something. How the hell does he fit so much stuff in there?” Mick sits down on his bed.
“Charms. That’s how. You do know that Peter is scarily good at charms right?” Juno pulls another wad of paper out of the pocket. None with Juno’s distinctive handwriting on it.
The next time Juno puts his hand in Nureyev’s pockets he pulls his hand back out in a hurry cursing. Attached to one of his fingers was a pixie. “Fucking hell.” Juno shakes his hand and the pixie goes flying. Juno’s finger goes into his mouth to soothe the wound.
“How long has that pixie been in Ransom’s pockets?”
“Not sure.” Juno pulls out his wand and mutters something before a sheet of parchment comes flying out of Nureyev’s pockets. Juno looks over it and grones. It did have his handwriting on it, but over half of it was covered in some type of sauce.
“Got bit by a pixie just to have to redo my homework anyway.” Juno flopped back against his bed.

It had been a long morning and Juno just wanted to know where the fuck his eye patch had gone. He was pretty sure he hadn’t left it in his dorm. Actually, he knew he hadn’t - he’d had it on until the slime bomb had gone off on the Grand Staircase between classes. He’d knocked it off in the struggle of getting the slime off himself. He was now sitting in the Great Hall with the rest of the students that had been exposed waiting to see if any more of them would develop any reactions to it.
Juno was trying to figure out if anyone had picked it up or if it had just been lost in the shuffle when someone came up on his blindside. “Steel are you alright? You got hit directly with that slime.” Juno was startled but calmed down quickly after he saw who was speaking to him.
“I think so. My socket is a bit irritated, some of it got underneath my eye patch. Not sure where the patch has gone either.”
Vespa hummed. “Do you want me to examine it here or in a private room?”
“Private.” Vespa motioned for him to follow. They move to the small antechamber off the Great Hall. There were a few cots set up in the room. Vespa leads him over to the first one, which had a Gryffindor robe tossed over it. It was covered in slime.
“Whose robe is that?” Juno sits on the cot.
Vespa answers as she starts to examine his empty eye socket. “Ransom’s. It has to be cleaned before he can have it back. Why?”
“I was just wondering. But if it’s Peter’s it may have one of my spare patches in it.”
Vespa only grunted as she finished examining the socket. “It looks like you have only irritated it. If it starts to hurt worse, come back alright?” Juno nodded as he reached for the robes. He made sure the pockets were uncovered before pulling out his wand and muttering a spell.
Several things come flying out of Nureyev’s pockets, including Juno’s eye patch. But tangled up with it were several other things, including several scraps of paper and a few different house ties. There was even a necklace and a bracelet. Juno untangled everything before shoving the rest back into the pocket.
“If you would take the robes to Buddy to be cleaned. You’re good to go. Tell Buddy that it may be for the best if she holds off on her classes tonight will you?”
“Why do I have to act as messenger?”
“Because your our kid that’s why. Now get going.” Juno sighs as he stands. He finds Buddy out in the Great Hall and passes along the message and gets her to clean up Nureyev’s robes before heading back to his dorm. Turns out most of the classes for the rest of the day had been canceled because of what had happened.
