Nagi always hated the thoughts of soulmates. Well, maybe not soulmates but people in general. People are complicated and are a hassle to deal with. So even if whatever supernatural being gave him a soulmate he could care less.  Besides, it was highly unlikely that he would ever meet his soulmate in this vast world. 

Nagi stared at the mark on his neck through the mirror. It was pretty he´ll give it that. It's just the implication it meant what he didn´t want.  It was two pretty purple and white flowers but Nagi never really cared enough to look it up. He didn't see the point. Why attach meaning to something that wouldn't matter?

Nagi wondered if he should cover it. Is that too rude? He probably shouldn't do that. Nagi just sighed as he left home to get to school.

It's not like he´ll ever meet his soulmate anyway, so he won't have to deal with that hassle.

Or so he thought…

He in fact did meet his soulmate today, even if it was a total accident. He was bumped into on the stairs causing his console to fly out of his hands. He jumped to grab it but couldn't reach it with his hands so he used his foot. He managed to get it and realized he had a bit of HP left. He commented it out loud until he realized he felt a surge of lighting run through his body.

He turned around to face the person that bumped into him. The person in front of him was shocked and his mouth was agape. He saw the same mark on his neck and thought to himself ¨ Ah…he must be my ´soulmate´. Nagi paid him no mind just continuing to play on his console. Though he could recognize him. It wasn't that hard to do when everyone talked about him. He is not exaggerating, everyone talks about the rich purple-haired heir that even Nagi could recognize him.

Finally, the purple-haired male came to his senses and smiled. Nagi hopes that it wasn´t because the Mikage had found his soulmate. Anything but that, please.

¨You! You´re interesting! Do you play any sports? You should join football!¨

Well, Nagi did say anything but soulmate talk…

¨No, I don´t.¨

¨Then play football with me!¨

Nagi just sighed. He looked up at the excited boy as the boy wrapped his arm around his neck.

¨You´re rich, right? Give me money.¨

He saw the boy's face fall but then brighten up again.

¨You´ll play football if I do that?¨

Nagi looked to the side, shrugging.

¨Sounds like a pain…but okay.¨

It's been a few months since Nagi knew Reo. If Nagi was honest…He enjoyed being by Reo´s side. Whether it was because of soulmates or not he liked how Reo made him feel. Reo made him feel special like he had something to him. Not a speck of dust as Nagi had thought of himself as, but as if he was something precious, or as Reo called him, ¨His treasure.¨

Reo never acknowledged the fact that they were soulmates though. Even if many of their teammates commented on it, Reo just shook his head saying ¨Soulmates or not, I´ll choose who I love. Nagi admired that. Although Nagi only saw soulmates as a hassle, Reo saw soulmates as if it didn't matter. That he'll choose who he loves.

Though Nagi said he found soulmates a hassle the more time he spends with Reo he started finding Reo as someone who isn't a pain. Reo is someone whose presence he enjoys. Maybe it was because they´re soulmates- mostly likely not the reason - but as the days go by he feels his heart beat faster when he looks at Reo. 

Nagi feels his face heat up as he sometimes looks in Reo´s direction in the changing room and quickly looks away. He's going crazy. He said to himself that soulmates were a hassle and yet he felt himself falling for Reo. He wondered how Reo felt about him though. He didn't want to ruin what he had with Reo. So he kept quiet, locking those feelings in a box. Even if it stung when Reo dismissed the fact they were soulmates Nagi learned to control his expression.

Reo was his soulmate but more than that he was the person he loved- cherished. He would never do anything to ruin what they had. He will settle for the little affectionate actions he receives from Reo. He wants Reo to be happy even if it's not with him.

One day, Nagi found Reo´s behavior strange. Reo had been avoiding him- never meeting his gaze. Whenever Nagi asked about it, Reo dismissed it saying it was nothing. Nagi could only huff to himself. He was best friends with Reo yet Reo was hiding something from him. Nagi tugged on Reo's hand, pulling him into a corner of an empty hallway during the break.

¨Reo, what's going on? Why are you avoiding me?¨

Reo didn't see his eyes, he stared at the ground. Nagi tightened his hold on Reo´s wrist.

¨ Please…Reo¨

Reo finally meets his eyes.

¨Nagi…I.¨

Nagi focused all his attention on Reo which caused Reo to clam up. He gently put his hand on Nagi´s face, pushing it away slightly.

¨Don't stare too much…It makes me nervous.¨

Nagi pouted, he wanted Reo to know he was listening. He wanted him to know that he was the only thing Nagi was focusing on. That nothing mattered more than what he was saying. But if that was what Reo wanted he´ll comply. Nagi closed his eyes and nodded, whispering okay. It seemed to let Reo calm down. Nagi heard Reo take a deep breath as spoke.

¨I know I said I´ll choose who I will love, but Nagi…You´re the one I love.  I´m glad you were chosen as my soulmate because even if you weren't, I would still want you. I just thought that this would affect our relationship because you never seemed interested in soulmates or pursuing a romantic relationship in general. I was meant to keep it to myself but…I can't anymore. My feelings for you feel like they would be able to overflow every second I´m with you. Can I know what you think?¨

Nagi was stunned. He knew he was blushing; he felt the blood rush to his cheeks as Reo finished. Reo had felt the same about him. Hell, he even said even if they weren't soulmates he would still choose him. That made Nagi give a small smile. He gently put his hands on Reo´s cheeks and pulled him close. He nuzzled their noses together letting out a small breath of relief.

¨And here I thought you got bored of me…Reo, I love you as well. You are the one person I can stand. Not just because you're my soulmate, or because you're rich, but because you're you Reo. You're stunning and caring, and your smile is blinding. Everything, Reo, everything about you I just adore. ¨

Reo let out a small giggle, closing his eyes as Nagi pressed a kiss to his forehead.

¨So…are we together? Nagi asked as he rested his face against his hair, intaking his lavender-scented hair. Reo just pulled him close, hugging him.

¨Of course, my treasure.¨

Nagi smiled. Soulmate or not Reo would always be the one he chooses. But even fate agrees they were the ones meant for one another. 

¨I love you, Reo.¨

¨I love you too, Nagi.¨

Nagi frowned.

¨Sei, call me Sei, Reo.¨

Reo´s face heated up as he carefully licked his lips as his mouth opened.

¨I love you too, Sei.¨

Nagi loved the way it rolled off Reo´s tongue. He nuzzled his face into Reo's neck as he whispered that ´it sounded better´  Reo smiled at that and kissed Nagi´s cheek. He was overwhelmed with happiness that he and Nagi were finally a couple. One that loved each other because they are who they are not because fate said so. Fate had just so happened to agree they were the ones for one another.

Bonus:

¨Hey, Reo, do you know what our soulmate marks are?¨

Nagi one day had asked as he played with Reo´s hair after a ´ special night´  together. Rei just mumbled causing Nagi to let out an amused hum. He nuzzled against Reo as he asked again.

¨Love? What did you say?¨

Reo finally opened his eyes and raised his head a beat moving more up on Nagi´ś chest.

¨It´s a Heliotrope and a lisianthus.¨

Nagi hummed as he left a kiss on Reo´s forehead.

¨Do you know what they mean?¨

Reo just hummed and traced Nagi´s abs.

¨Yeah, you wanna know?¨

Nagi just nodded, continuing to run his finger through Reo´s soft hair, turning a piece of hair on his finger.

¨Well, a Heliotrope symbolizes ´eternal love´ while a Lisianthus symbolizes ´unchanging love´.¨

Nagi pulled Reo closer to him- pressing him against his body even more.

¨ That's perfect for us because I´ll never stop loving you. In every life, I´ll find you, my love.¨

Reo´s face flushed as he let out a noise of surprise- hiding his face in Nagi´s chest.

¨Yeah…They're perfect for us, my treasure.¨
