Work Text:
And just like that, Rosalyne was gone. It was an unexpected turn of events but a pleasant one, to say the least. Columbina was never really fond of her. Afterall, she was standing in her way of getting close to Arlecchino. She hated the way La Signora looked at her beloved, eyes filled with lust. Arlecchino, on the other hand, loved all of the attention Rosaylne gave her and it drove Columbina mad. But now, all of it didn't matter anymore. Arlecchino was finally hers.
She sat down next to her deceased rival's coffin. She laid her head on top of it and...smiled. The warmth of her smile gave the dim cathedral a very much needed light. She caught eye contact with Arlecchino. Her beloved's sight was apathetic but it wasn't like Arlecchino's usual apathia she was familiar with. Columbina's smile thinned slightly. So her prince wasn't free of the witch's curse afterall. She could feel rage building up inside of her. She closed her eyes. Breathe in. Breathe out. It won't take long until she finds a way to seduce Arlecchino. Her previous, warm smile has returned to her lips. She began to sing a calm tune as the other Harbingers argued.
