Pack of young boys howling at the moon

Summary:

Goo’s wailing might be music to Gun’s ears, but it doesn’t bandage the fractured tailbone or the bruised pride that at the moment feels so heavy that Gun can’t physically get up.

The sky is blue and bright. There’s DG in it.

Work Text:

Some things just shouldn’t happen. Some gargantuan cosmic power should have disabled the possibility of certain things happening to certain people, because it just doesn’t fit, it’s not cool or productive. It doesn’t even teach a lesson or grow character. It’s gratuitous. Redundant. It shouldn’t just happen.

But it happened.

Gun did indeed slip on ice and fall on his ass so hard, that he’s still down on the ground crushing his molars together.

As this happened, Goo naturally broke into a scream-howl-laugh and started beating his thigh like some cartoon character, until his own shiny dress shoe slipped on the same patch of ice and he too fell on his ass.

“Why didn’t you warn me!” Goo cries, pummeling Gun’s shoulder with fists, absolutely not laughing anymore as now he has to roll to rub his backside.

Goo’s wailing might be music to Gun’s ears, but it doesn’t bandage the fractured tailbone or the bruised pride that at the moment feels so heavy that Gun can’t physically get up.

The sky is blue and bright. There’s DG in it.

“What are you two doing?”

As if he wasn’t still lying in the snow, shades a little crooked and expensive clothes covered in flakes, Gun replies: “Waiting for you. You’re late.”

“Yeah, it was two o’clock sharp. Not five past. Didn’t you learn punctuality in idol school?” Goo isn’t suddenly complaining anymore, but lounging on Gun’s side like this was something that respectable people got into.

“Are you going to get up?” DG asks, valiantly hiding his confusion behind a stoic face and a big scarf.

“Aren’t you going to get down ?” Goo counters, but Gun abandons their brief alliance against a mutual enemy by getting up and patting snow from his coat.

“Get the fuck up,” he says to the last man lying, finally turning his attention to DG despite Goo’s groans. “No more stalling. Let’s get to business.”

“Yeah… Let’s get a coffee while we’re at it. Need any help, Goo?”

“Ye—”

“He doesn’t need help.”

Goo does get up himself, though the glare he throws at Gun’s direction is a sharp one. He too shakes his clothes clean and pulls his trademark smile back on his face.

“Coffee time!”

“My treat for being late,” DG offers as he takes the lead.

After five steps Goo breaks from his seams anew and Gun snorts out the cigarette he was just lighting as DG hits a patch of ice and falls on his ass.
