If It's Not a Pain

Summary:

"You're the head of the Gojo clan."

Pause.

"I am. Yes."

"You don't have an heir either."

Longer pause.

"Yeah…I guess I do not." He did not like where this was going.

"So what have you been doing with your "valid concern", huh?"

And now she finally chose to look at him.

Chapter 1: Valid Concerns

Chapter Text

"Yeah….noted."

"And it would be beneficial to install a few curse-sealing battle arenas…you know similar to the Culling games….we need more large scale battle practice after all. As of now, the cursed energy in this generation rivals if not exceeds the golden Era, we can't do with the old training regime….ohh and we are in severe need of more teachers as well, strong ones…."

"Yeah, yeah. I get you."

"We lost a hella lot of cursed tools so it is necessary to acquire or even invent some new ones. I also recommend a foreign trip in order to let the kids see the cursed phenomenon in other-"

"Gojo, I understand, training has to be upgraded…and i agree, but will you put a hold on it for now. It's barely been a month since Kenjaku was sealed, not just the college but the whole country is in an economic crisis. How do you expect me invest so much in high-end training when feeding the students properly is a challenge?"

He smirked at her shreiks.

"It sure is Utahime, but that is why I expect you to put your resourcefulness to use and show us that you're the new principal, the right choice, for Tokyo high."

Utahime did not look amused.

"I'll keep it in mind Gojo. Now how about you? You still haven't handed me the report of the students' current power levels, neither have you documented the restoration work for college. How about you do the basics I've asked of you and prove to us that you are the right choice for the head teacher."

Gojo's face lit up at the last words, that sumg, stupid smile stretching across his face–and she had thought he changed after getting sealed–as he was about to boast his accomplishments, Utahime cut him off–

"Anyway, cutting-in to the reason I called you here. I need your advice on something."

"Is it about your dating life? Sorry but even an experienced juggler like me can't help your case Utahime." He said shaking his head side from side with a fake exasperated tone.

"As if anyone would take that sort of advice from you Gojo." She said half annoyed, but suddenly paused, and with a dampened vigour of voice spoke.

"Though I guess I agree with you on this one…"

"Utahi-"

"No, but this is from the Kamo Family. With over 3/4ths of them dead, the head is worried about the lineage. He has tasked me with getting Kamo to take a bride "befitting the requirements", to quote him."

"Aaaand you expect me to give my Maki or Nobara to you? There's not a cha-"

"Gojo I'm serious here. That kid is 18, and now he is supposed to get married and have a kid? Not that I can say the concern of the Kamo head is in the wrong, however I cannot possibly ask Kamo to find a woman to impregnate at his age"

Utahime said looking Gojo in the blindfolds and clearly with a lost composure, which did not go unnoticed by Gojo as he decided to drop his goofiness.

"I see. So? You want me to talk to him in your place."

"Well…yeah that too, but I said I needed your advice."

"What advice? Like you said, while unfair to an 18 year old, the concern of the Kamo head is valid. Not much counter-arguments I can add over it.

"Not that the kid has been living the life of a normal teenager anyway. " he added after a pause.

Utahime grew more tensed. Her eyes averted from Gojo's direction and swung over the window looking outside.

He would never admit it in front of her, but he was glad that she had become the new principal. She was apt with such management jobs. She had been handling everything from the shifting of the Kyoto Jujutsu high to Tokyo, to the government paper work and international paperwork of the events effectively.

While everyone seemed to now know about the existence of curses and sorcerers, all information still could not be open. Handling the political field of things was something Gojo would not like to get into, neither did he think himself particularly capable of it.

Though she had been outstanding in the politics, that was not the only reason he had nominated Utahime to become the principal of the Tokyo Jujutsu Tech-also the only Jujutsu Tech as of now.

But when it came to more emotionally tough decisions, especially the ones concerning the kids, the woman was weaker than she was in a fight.

Before he could gather up something to say to her, she spoke, still looking out the window.

"You're the head of the Gojo clan."

Pause.
