We've Been Living in a Paradise (With Mr. Boseman)

Summary:

A self-indulgent collection where I ship three (3) OCs with a character with a disembodied voice. Who is also in a position of authority. Allow me to be cringe and free.

Stories are written in second person, putting the reader in the perspective of the OCs. While the OCs also have defined characteristics, I decided to remove any references to them for reader immersion purposes. And in case I'm not the only one who has the hots for him.

No game spoilers (yet.) Tags will be added as the fic updates.

Not for Broadcast is a game developed and owned by NotGames and tinyBuild.

Chapter 1: It's Awfully Nice If You Don't Think Twice

Summary:

The Reporter gets an invitation.

Notes:

While this is an OC I am dubbing "the Reporter", I am writing this collection with the reader-insert genre in mind. You know, just in case I'm not the only one.

These few chapters depict the character/the reader as a lowly young reporter for NNN. They have a down-to-earth personality. I tried to tailor it enough it so that other readers may put themselves in the Reporter's position.

Chapter Text

Look at that: a day off from your regular reporter duties! You’ve been given one after a tough interview out on the field. You hope the editors can salvage it in post.

You poked your head outside and reached into the mailbox. You weren’t in the mood to go out to relax. You wanted to shut yourself in for the day.

You sat down in the living room and set what you got on the coffee table standing in front of you. You sift through the envelopes and flyers until one of them stuck out to you.

This one…looked different from the others. So, you ignored everything but that, opening it to find…

An invitation?

Interesting. It’s from the big man himself, too. All that was important out of that handwriting was the reason why you were invited. Something about how it was to discuss your performance so far. There was emphasis on how you must attend. And of course, the location and meet-up time, with the characteristic “don’t be late and don’t disappoint me.”

Good thing you had nothing booked that day. It would be so bad if the timing was inconvenient. In fact, you’ve always wanted to see this man face-to-face since the interview! Why wouldn’t you say yes to your boss? This could be an opportunity if you played it right. Just stay on his side and things will be fine.

You’re going to write back to him with your answer.

Or…you could walk up to his office once you get back.

Oh well. You’ll find a way to tell him.

Just don’t think about it too much, you told yourself.

There’s a chance you won’t get what you want. You can always try again.
