Darkness in the past

Summary:

You're a lab assistant who specializes in dark type pokemon. You get sent back in time to the Hisui region and the diamond clan help you get back on your feet.

Notes:

I will not finish this, just like how I haven't finished my last fic. I'm kinda sad I got into this game when scarlet and violet came out so everyone's pretty much moved onto that.

Chapter Text

Your back ached like hell. Your clothes were wet and muddy and you could barely move. You opened your eyes then blinked a few times before recounting your day.

First you woke up and got to the lab to help Professor Elm. Mr. Pokemon called and you went to go pick up a mysterious package before you were suddenly falling through the sky.

You tried to move your hand but it only twitched in response. You groaned but then one of your pokemon came out of its ball in response.

Weavile looked around for you before his eyes landed on you. "Wee?!" he gasped at the state of you. Muddy lab coat, wet hair, and ruined clothes. "Weeee!!" he yelled and dug around your pockets before pulling out a great ball and poke ball and pressing the buttons.

Tyranitar and Mandibuzz came out of their balls and Weavile explained the situation to them. Tyranitar looked down at you and made a noise at you. "ni?"

"Please help me up" you asked. Tyranitar looked over at Mandibuzz and made a noise at her. She nodded and flew up to look for help while Weavile picked you up and put you on Tyranitar's back.

You thanked them and Weavile smiled in response. "Vile!" you stretched your limbs and found you could move a little, although it wasn't enough to go anywhere without the help of your pokemon.

Mandibuzz quickly came back and moved her head in the direction she wanted you to go. You thanked her as well and she motioned you to put her back in her ball. She didn't particularly like being outside of her ball when she had nothing to do.

Tyranitar slowly made his way to his new destination and you wondered how you got here. All you did was step out the door and start falling through the air but there has to be more to this.

A carnivine popped up behind you and squealed, preparing an energy ball. Tyranitar turned around at the noise and growled at it but the floating plant didn't back down.

Weavile, who was quick and agile, climbed up Tyranitar's back and used ice punch on the carnivine who lost a majority of its health from the attack.

The grass type floated back from the attack and used stun spore on your weavile, who cried in response. Weavile held out its arms to prepare a dark pulse but it was paralysed and fell over from standing in his uncomfortable pose.

Weavile stood up again but you yelled out before he could attack again. "Tyranitar! Use crunch!" Tyranitar nodded and charged forward to attack it but it was too slow and was hit with a fast stun spore and then attacked with an absorb, regaining all of its health back. Tyranitar stumbled, but held its ground, so you didn't fall off.

"WEE?!!" "WHAT?!!"

Usually in a battle, pokemon can be fast, but they were never fast enough to attack on the same turn.

Weavile pointed and yelled, while Tyranitar executed its move and waited for another command.

"Weavile! Use ice punch again, and Tyranitar, only use giga impact if it doesn't go down from that"

Weavile charged into the carnivine and gathered a bunch of ice on its hand before punching it, square in the face. It landed as a critical attack and carnivine fainted.

It dropped a ball of mud and Weavile picked it up. "vi?" he held the ball to your face with a big toothy grin. "No, weavile, I don't want a ball of mud."

Dejected, he cried and turned away from you and you rolled your eyes at the sight of him. Tyranitar started moving again and you sighed. "come on, if you don't stop crying I'll leave you here all by yourself"

He immediately stopped and jogged back up to you.

"Are you okay tyranitar? Do you need any potions?"

He shook his head and looked ahead. He walked forward before, walking along the new found path. In the distance you could make out the silhouette of a person and you called out to them.

"Excuse me! Do you know where we are?"

They turned around and, wow they were pretty, panicked at the sight of your 7 feet tall monster. It was like they thought your tyranitar was just talking to them.

You stuck your hand out from the side and waved. Their leafeon came up to you and they followed along.

When he got closer you started to see him a little better. Strange, usually people aren't this weary when they know a pokemon has a trainer, especially when they themselves have a pokemon.

He had long blue hair with yellow highlights and wore a long blue coat. His clothes looked traditional but it wasn't rare to see someone wearing traditional clothes where you were from.

"um- do you know where we are because, I kind of just fell from the sky and-" his eyes widened at that fact. "Sorry, let me start over. I'm y/n and I'm quite lost." Why or how you fell from the sky didn't matter in this context. You just wanted to know where you were.

"You fell from the sky?" he asked. You nodded, confirming what he just heard.

"Alright. My name is Adaman and we're in the crimson mirela-"

"Where's that?" you interrupted.

"In Hisui." He continued. "Now if you just let me finish-"

"I've never heard of this place before" you brought your hand to your head.

He sighed, exasperated. "For the love of Sinnoh. If you stop talking and listen then we could've been done with this already"

Your mouth snapped shut.

He got a better look at you and saw that you were a bit injured. You had a few rips and tears on your coat, some scratches on your knees, but there was nothing on you that some rest and time couldn't fix.

"You should come with me to our settlement. We'll fix you up and we can talk about this along the way." Adaman said.

You nodded and your tyranitar followed him to the settlement.

"Why's you use the word Sinnoh like that?" you asked.

"Well, Sinnoh is the being we believe in. It's the pokemon that controls the flow of time." he answered.

"Like celebi? Wait no, it's more of a time traveller than a time controller." you paused for a moment. "Also where I'm from, Sinnoh is a region. Not a deity." you added.

Adaman nodded in response.

"We're here. You might have to leave your pokemon behind because it might be a bit intimidating to the kids."

You nodded and you slowly scooched off Tyranitar's back. You took a few steps forward before you stumbled and fell back onto Tyranitar.

Adaman sighed. "You can lean on me if you want"

You blushed and Adaman moved closer to you. You put a hand under your coat and went digging around for something when he hooked his arm under your shoulder so he could have a better grip on you.

You held up some coloured balls and Tyranitar understood your command and returned to his ball. Weavile on the other hand refused.

Pokeballs were something that the galaxy team brought over from a foreign region. The diamond clan never used them but from what Adaman recalled, they were never this colourful.

He grabbed your hand before you could put it back on your belt and you tilted your head in confusion.

Not only were they more saturated than regular balls, they were also missing the wooden texture from the apricorn it was usually made out of. Instead of the stone latch, it was replaced by a white circle. It looked advanced. It looked… Futuristic.

He loosened his grip before dropping your hand.

"Sorry. Just, keep those balls out of sight. Most of the diamond clan don't agree with the use of pokeballs so it's better to be safe than sorry."

"Oh right. That's fine" you put your balls back on your belt then adjusted it with one arm so it was hidden under your coat.

When you stepped foot into the settlement, you noticed that everyone was quite wary of you. They were quite subtle with it but when Adaman wasn't looking it was a bit more noticeable.

They talked about your clothes. Comparing your coat to a man named Laventon, who you assumed might be a scientist, while you openly gaped at their homes. It was rude, yes. But he wasn't really lying when he called it a settlement. It looked recently built. You really had no way to describe how you felt. It was just a bunch of dark blue tents.

Adaman brought you inside one of the tents and left immediately after, muttering about needing to do something really quick.

A doctor came inside and asked you a few questions while Weavile stood by your side.

On the other side of the camp, Adaman slid the door open and Mai jumped up. Just now she was feeding her munchlax some oran berries. "You should really knock before you come in." she groaned and then flicked an oran berry in his face.

"Sorry, just needed some help with something." He moved over to sit next to her and munchlax moved over to make some room. "I found another faller and I'm not sure what to do."

She hummed in response and Adaman crossed his arms. "I think they might from the future," he continued.

"What makes you think that?" she asked.

"They had futuristic pokeballs. They were so smooth and the latch was replaced by a circle." he crossed his arms. "Should we let them stay here?" He wondered.

"Hmm." Mai hummed for a while. Clearly thinking about the question. "It might be good to have a faller at our disposal. After all, the pearl clan already have one. Do they have their memories?"

Weavile stood by your side as the doctor applied something onto your bruised leg. "You'll be fine in a few days. Just try not to overexert yourself." The doctor promptly left after that and you were sat there, alone with your thoughts.

You put your hands to your face then raked them across your hair.

"Vile!"

You turned around to look at your weavile and you smiled. He moved a chair in front of you, climbed onto it and started to imitate some familiar people.

First, he sectioned his hair into multiple spikes, then mimed himself a coat and threw it behind him.

"Hmm" you hummed in deep thought. "Is it… Lance?"

"Wee!" he cheered and nodded to your answer. He mimed a fake hat then put it on backwards.

"Oh come on! That could be any trainer I know!"

He wagged his finger. "Vile." he denied. He hugged himself and twisted his upper body.

"Is it… Someone close to me?" he snapped his fingers and nodded, confirming your guess. "Oh! Is it Gold?"

"Wee!" he beamed.

The door slid open and revealed Adaman and a girl with black hair. Weavile clambered back onto the ground and kicked the chair back but it just got knocked over.

The girl giggled and moved the chair back upright and Weavile made a nervous noise. Behind her stood a little munchlax, snacking on some berries. He waved to your weavile and he sheepishly waved back.

"Are you feeling alright" she asked.

You nodded. "Mhm! The doctor said it'll take a few days to heal as long as I don't overexert myself. But I don't really have a place to stay."

The girl hummed, then smiled. "My name is Mai. If you need a place to stay you can stay here if you can answer a few questions."

You nodded and shuffled in your seat, twiddling your thumbs.

"Do you remember anything before you fell from the sky?"

You nodded again. There was another pocket of silence so you recounted your day to them. "I work as a lab assistant and I was helping my boss, Professor Elm. There's this guy who finds a lot of weird stuff so I went to get it, but before I reached his house I fell from the sky."

You paused. They both looked anxious. Adaman looked like he just wanted to say something whilst Mai side eyed him. "Why? Is there something bad you want to tell me?"

Mai shook her head and glared at Adaman. The two locked eyes and he looked back at you. "We think you might be from the future," he guessed.

Your heart sunk to the floor. "Oh" you looked down at your hands. This is fine. You're definitely fine.

"If you're worried about accommodation, the offer for staying here is still up." Mai reassured.

You curled into yourself and spent some time thinking about it. "Alright. I'll stay"
