Work Text:

Bob was sat at the counter of Boys 'n Grills whilst you worked in the kitchen, when suddenly the two little spooky kids sprinted into the diner.
Since it was October, they had been coming in more frequently, exclaiming "IT ISSA SPOOKY MONTH!!!!" and then leaving. It disturbed the other customers, so Bob decided to form a plan. Using the peanuts (that were definitely not stolen), he was going to convince the children that they were candy so they would keep quiet. They were unsalted, so he could cover them in sugar and they would be none the wiser.
And now, the day after said dastardly plan was hatched, it was finally time to put it into action.
The children were about to shout the usual message when Bob stopped them. "Hey kids, I'll give ya candy if ya keep quiet." He held out a handful of the sugar coated peanuts which caused the costumed children's eyes to light up. They quickly grabbed the so called "candy" and shoved it into their mouths.
All was fine until Skid started complaining of something. "Mm... this candy makes my mouth itchy." oh dear. He's allergic to peanuts. Your plan was stupid, Bob. Shame on you.
Luckily, it didn't seem like Skid's throat was closing up. He just got hives, calm yourself, he's not going to die in front of people. That'd give the diner a bad name. Honestly, the kid didn't actually seem that bothered. The spooky kids did a very quiet spooky dance before bolting out the door.
Ah, children are adorable. All that energy.

Notes:

Moral of the story, don't give people peanuts and say that they are candy. They might be allergic.
