Chapter 1: Pancakes
Chapter Text
Being a werewolf has its perks.
It's a common knowledge the a werewolf's sense heightens the moment they shift for the first time. The sharpness extends even when a werewolf is deep in slumber.
Which is why Enid scrunched her nose at the smell of something burning. Groaning at having to wake up early, Enid moved around the bed, throwing the blanket over her head in an attempt to block the smell.
Soft mumbles pierced her ears, forcing them to twitch at the sounds. The smell diminishes a bit and the voices softened. Eyes still remained closed, Enid let out a small smile as the soft mumbles get louder again, accompanied with pitter patter steps. She still had her eyes closed even when the door opens and a gentle pat on her face.
"Mommy! Mommy!"
"Sshh, mio prezioso." Wednesday placed a hand on their daughter's head. "Mommy is still sleeping after the full moon last night. Let her rest."
"But the pancakes will get cold!" Their daughter, Eleanor Addams, pouted in response. Enid's ears twitched at the mention of pancakes. Luckily, Wednesday and her daughter didn't see it.
"What's this about pancakes?" Enid slowly opened her eyes, feigning waking up from sleep. A small smile graced her lips, which turned even wider when her daughter climbed up the bed and cuddled beside her.
"Mommy! Mommy!" Eleanor giggled, burying underneath the blankets.
"Hello, sweet pup." Enid smiled, cuddling with her giggling daughter. Blue eyes turned towards the other occupant of the room, who is staring at the two of them.
"Good morning, cara mia." Wednesday dipped her head in greeting. A tray of food in her hands. Enid's sensitive nose can detect blueberry pancakes coated with maple syrup, fried toast with butter on the side, an orange juice for Eleanor, and two cups of coffee for the two mothers. The pancakes' underside is slightly burnt but not burned enough to be thrown out.
"Mommy! I made you breakfast!" Eleanor reached for the tray at Wednesday's hands in an effort to show Enid. "But Mama burned the pancakes."
Enid shot her wife a teasing look, which Wednesday promptly ignored. But she could see a small color tarnishing the smooth pale skin of her wife in embarrassment.
Deeming to spare Wednesday the tease, Enid hoisted their daughter and have her placed on her lap. Wednesday placed tray down in front of them before climbing back into bed. Enid took the utensils and sliced up the pancakes to share with her daughter. Eleanor happily ate her share of pancakes and toast while the two mother enjoyed their peaceful morning family time over breakfast.

Wednesday has a free day.
She had just finished working on the manuscript for her upcoming series and is now in her editor's hands. Because of that, Wednesday has the rest of the week free from work. She had informed her wife that she'll be able to pick up their daughter from school so Enid can focus on her classes with the other children. The writer ponders on some of her story ideas while standing by the school's gate, waiting for the final bell. The other parents all stood by each other, heads deep from the nonsense gossip about everything. Wednesday made sure to stay as far away as possible from the group of parents to avoid any form of social interaction. Even after five years of being married to the literal embodiment of social cues, Wednesday still struggles with basic interaction with other people.
However, while waiting, she couldn't help but overhear some of the so-called gossip floating in the air.
"Doesn't she look suspicious?"
"What is with that outfit? Who wears that kind of thing?!"
"I heard she came from a family of killers."
Wednesday couldn't help but smile at the remark. How awfully close that one hit home.
"Should we call 911? The children will go out any minute and I don't want my son to be near her!"
At her peripheral vision, one of the parents pulled up their phone, presuming to dial the said emergency number.
"Hello? Yes, there is a suspicious person near Sunnydales School. Uhh..." The parent made sure to assess the writer from top to bottom. Her overall dark and gothic aesthetics still haven't changed over the years. It's fairly easy why a parent would deem her as a threat to society with just looks overall.
"Yes. Yes. Please hurry. Thank you." The parent closed her phone. The group heaved a collective relieved sighs before positioning themselves by the gates as if blocking Wednesday from setting foot. The writer rolled her eyes at how childish these parents are than the actual students of the school.
The bell rang loudly, signalling the end of the day. Within minutes, loud chatter poured over as the doors opened and children spilled out. Some are waving at their parents while some are busy talking with their friends. At the same time, a police car pulled over by the curb and and a policeman stepped out. He looked around for any signs of suspicious person, roaming from the happy children to the group parents huddled by the gate to the lone goth standing far away from the gaggle of people. The parent who called saw the police and waved at him.
"It's her, officer." She pointed towards Wednesday, who is still standing way wards from the gate. The policeman looked and turned to face the parent in confusion. The woman doesn't seem to be posing as a threat. She was just...standing there, as if waiting for something or someone from the school.
"Mama!"
A little girl ran over and bumped onto Wednesday.
"Hello, little pup." Wednesday greeted with a small smile. She lightly ruffled the dark blonde hair of the girl, who giggled at the gesture. She hugged her mama's torso as tight as she can before letting go. Wednesday looked up and saw Enid standing behind her daughter. She smiled brightly and have her arms open. The writer leaned in and gave Enid a soft hug.
"Excuse me."
Wednesday and Enid broke from their hug. They looked and saw the parent from earlier, accompanied by her son and the policeman standing near them. A look of confusion on the parent's face while an exhausted look painted the policeman's face.
"Mrs. Addams, are you that little girl's parent?" The parent asked. Enid and Wednesday exchanged looks before glancing over to their daughter, who is looking at them confused.
"Yes. This is our daughter, Eleanor." Enid replied back. "Say hi, sweetie."
"H-Hello." Eleanor greeted softly before hiding behind Wednesday.
"She's just a little shy with strangers." Enid assured them. The parent kept glancing between her and the goth woman behind her, still standing with a straight face, with a small girl hiding behind her.
"Oh, this is Wednesday, my wife." At the sound of her name, Wednesday gave a small nod of acknowledgement. The parent's confusion just grew. She wasn't expecting the one she had been suspicious of earlier, turned out to be her son's homeroom teacher's wife.
"I don't think there's anything suspicious here, ma'am." The policeman replied dryly. He had a long shift and the last thing he wanted before it ends is to have people call the emergency lines for a prank. "Please do not call the emergency line when there is no emergency." He moved back towards his car and drove off.
"Is there a problem?" Enid asked. While it is unusual for Wednesday to come to the school to fetch their daughter, it is the first time the authorities have been involved. \
"Did you do something, Willa?" Blue eyes turned their attention back to her wife.
"How devious of you to accuse me, cara mia." Wednesday smirked. "Do you see any signs of fire around?"
Enid giggled in response before turning back to the accusing parent, who know stands awkwardly after getting embarrassed in front of the police.
"Is there anything else you need?"
"N-No..." The parent mumbled. "H-Have a nice day!" She quickly walked away, ushering her son to follow suit.
"What was that about..." Enid wondered. Wednesday took her hand before giving it a small kiss in greeting.
"Hello, cara mia." Enid giggled before stooping down to level with her daughter. "El, I still have some paperwork I need to do so be good to your mother, okay?"
"I will!" With strangers gone, Eleanor went back to her usual chipper self. She nodded fervently at her mother's instructions before grasping her mama's hand, which earned her a hug and a kiss on the cheek from Enid. The werewolf stood up and dusted off her clothes. "I'll see you when I finish filing tomorrow's lesson."
"Bye Mommy!" El waved back before holding onto Wednesday's hand. Once Enid entered the school, the two of them head towards the parking lot where their car is parked.
"Mama, can we have steak for dinner?" Eleanor asked. Wednesday looked down and saw dark eyes staring at her in an imitation of Enid's puppy eyes. The writer sighed before nodding in agreement.
"Only if we have it raw."
"Deal!"

Thank you for all the comments! So sorry for the late update. Life happened and I have been prioritizing my health lately + being busy with work. I am somewhat happy and not satisfied with this chapter bur it's just funny that the police got called over for Wednesday just... standing. lol
Feel free to leave prompts in the comments and I may make a chapter out of it. :)

Chapter Text
"Mommy?"
"Yes, sweetie?"
"When's Mama gonna come home?" Eleanor asked.
It's Friday night and the Addams' family home is dark and silent except for the sounds of the television in the living room. The two occupants are lounging by the couch, watching a cooking show together. Since it's Friday, Eleanor wanted to wait for her Mama to come home. She begged Enid if she can stay up with her, which led to the two of them waiting for Wednesday to come home.
It's already ten in the evening and Wednesday still hasn't come home. The writer informed she'd be arriving before midnight due to last-minute revisions on her manuscript. Her editor insisted for her to stay and finish them to ensure that they will meet the deadline set by their publisher.
"Mama said she'll be home before midnight." Enid replied, gently caressing her daughter's dark blonde locks. Eleanor snuggled closer to her mother, the accompanying sounds of the television provided a comfortable atmosphere as they await the arrival of the other half of their family.
---
Wednesday closed the door behind her.
She tossed her keys on the bowl and removed her boots. The revisions took her so late that she already arrived home well past midnight. She made sure to inform Enid to not wait up for her for dinner.
Wednesday ventured into their household, her steps as silent as the night. She noticed the low light coming from the living room. Leaving her bag by the stairs, she walked quietly and saw her family asleep on the couch.
Despite her quiet movements, the familiar patter of soft feet on carpeted floor alerted Enid. Her werewolf senses detected that Wednesday's home. Slowly, she opened her eyes, hazy blue met tired dark ones. A familiar weight settled against her body. Eleanor fell asleep snuggled close to Enid. The sounds of the television apparently lulled them to sleep. She took a peek at the clock on the wall, informing her that it's twenty past midnight.
"Hey, Wedns." Enid greeted sleepily.
"Hello, mon loup." The writer gave her wife a soft peck on the lips and a soft one on top of their sleeping daughter's head.
"She wanted to stay and wait for you." Enid brushed a loose strand on Eleanor's hair, gently tucking it behind her ear. "Guess baking shows are a good way to make her fall asleep."
"I'm sorry." Wednesday said. Her hand gently parted the werewolf's bangs. "My editor had been ruthless with the manuscript. She asked me to stay behind to fix them before submitting to the publisher."
It's understandable that with so close the deadline, Wednesday's editor can be as sharp as an eagle when it comes to ge littlelest mistakes. Everything should be presentable and perfect for the publisher.
"Hey." Enid cupped her wife's cheeks and placed a soft kiss. "It's alright. I know how important your novel it is to you."
And Enid knew. How Wednesday is strict to her writing schedule, dating back to when they were roommates in high school. The goth wouldn't let anyone interrupt her during her writing time unless it's a life or death situation, which she would find solace in the latter. This didn't change even when they have graduated schools, secured jobs, and had a daughter. When Eleanor came into picture, she would sometimes read her manuscripts out loud to lull their daughter to sleep while finding errors on her writing.
"Not as important as you and our little pup." Wednesday gently hoisted their sleeping daughter from Enid's and carried her close to her chest. Eleanor mumbled sleepily before nuzzling on her Mama's chest. The scent of ink and pine is enough to put a small smile on her face as she slept.
The two mothers walked slowly to their room, their steps careful to avoid waking their daughter. Once they were in their bedroom, Wednesday placed Eleanor right in the middle of their bed and Enid slid from the right and snuggled with her sleeping daughter. Blue eyes, shining in the darkness, followed after Wednesday changing from her work clothes to bed ones before settling herself on the other side of the bed.
"I have finished the manuscript tonight so that leaves me free for the weekend." Wednesday said.
"What do you say we have some family time?" Enid replied. "You haven't spend time with El lately. She misses you."
"Oh, my little pup." Wednesday tucked a stray strand behind her daughter's ear. Eleanor smiled at the contact. Even in the depths of slumber, her mama's touch put a smile on her face.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be." Enid kissed her wife. Wednesday had voiced her concerns on being too hyperfocused on her novels, in a rare moment of emotion vulnerability. Enid would always be there to assure her and to make sure she gets her breaks and pace herself accordingly.
"She's excited for the next Viper story. You should read some to her for bedtime."
"I will." The writer snuggled close to her family, an arm over her sleeping daughter to her wife. She gave Enid a small peck on the lips.
"Nothing scary, cara mia. You do know what happens when she has nightmares."

Chapter Text
"Where's Mommy?"
It was a question that forever changed the Addams' routine on full moon days.
As a werewolf, Enid has no choice but to shift into her beastly form once the moon peaked in the sky on full moon nights. Before Eleanor came into the picture, Enid and Wednesday would often spend time running around in between the forest by their backyard. Due to her wife's nature, Wednesday made sure to secure a home where it's as far as from most people and has ample space for Enid's other half on these days to avoid suspicions from the town. On full moons, they would usually run around and hunt some of the living animals in the forest to satiate Enid's beast.
When Eleanor was born, the two of them made sure to keep her away from Enid on her werewolf days, much to the werewolf's sadness and pain. She knew she would never hurt her own daughter but she would take all the precaution. The wolf in her will make sure to protect her pup at all cost; even from herself.
So on full moons, Enid would gallop through the forest while Wednesday would stay behind and keep watch on their daughter. Usually Eleanor would be preparing for bed when Enid goes out and by the time the first howl of the night sounded she'd be all tucked in and fast asleep under her mama's gentle patting, none the wiser of what transpired last night.
However, tonight was one of the rare days where Eleanor wanted to stay up late.
Enid already left the house, unknown to no one but her wife. Wednesday just finished her writing time and sat on the couch with her daughter, watching the late night horror movie. Luckily, El inherited Wednesday's nerves of steel and is not bothered with the scare tricks and gore showing on the screen.
"Mommy just went out to buy groceries." Wednesday have a list of white lies she can tell the moment their daughter caught wind of their monthly routine. Each time, Eleanor would buy those excuses, unaware of the true excuse.
"But I thought Mommy already bought us all the things?" El titled her head in confusion. She came with her mommy when they went grocery shopping the other day. Maybe she forgot something?
Before Wednesday could reply, a howl broke the silence of the night. It was loud as if it was near their home. Wednesday secretly smiled that Enid managed to shift without problems. She was about to call it a night, at least for the two of them when she noticed the sudden shift of their comfy night.
El sat up stiff. Eyes wide and fearful. She looked out at the large window by the living room, expecting someone to come bursting through it.
Another howl echoed off, a bit softer as distance carries it in the air. Wednesday knew her wife had already started diving deep into the forest for her monthly werewolf routine. But her daughter says otherwise.
El jolted at the sound and scooted closer to her mama, burying her head on her side as if hiding.
"What is wrong, my precious pup?" Maternal instincts kicked in and went to comfort their daughter. If her younger self could see her today, she would've been disowned and subjected for a guillotine spa treatment for breaking her promise.
"W-What's that noise?" El seemed to be shaken at the loud howl. She clutched her mama's sleeve and buried her head at her side.
"That." Wednesday smiled at the sudden thought in her mind that would surely leave her wife beet red on the face. "is one of the world's majestic creature."
That seemed to piqued El's curiosity. She uncovered her face and peered at her mama curiously.
"Come, pup. I will tell you all about it in bed." Without wasting anymore time, El went down on the couch and raced towards her room. Wednesday lets out a small smile. Eleanor is a curious girl, something she had inherited from her. Every time something piqued her interest, she would eagerly listen and learn all about it. Wednesday can't wait to tell Enid that their daughter finally heard of the 'majestic' creature of the night that stole Wednesday Addams' heart.
--
Morning came and Wednesday rose with the sun. She blinked her eyes and saw that she fell asleep on her daughter's bed. El is sleeping deep and soundly, clutching the small wolf plush toy that Enid bought for her. Wednesday gently swept her daughter's loose bangs before gently kissing her forehead. The howls still bothered her last night, which is why El clutched her sleeve, begging her to not leave her alone. The writer agreed to stay until she falls asleep.
Wednesday stood up, stretching her arms and legs, waking them from the numbness of her awkward sleeping position. She went towards their room and grabbed some spare clothes that Enid left on their bed come the morning after full moon. She went for the backdoor, just in time for a large lumbering werewolf trudging towards her. She could hear bones shifting and realigning back to a bipedal frame. Fur disappears underneath to make way for the pale smooth skin. Ears shortened until they became human-shaped and the tail gave one last wag before retreating back. Enid shook herself and stretched her limbs, feeling bones popping in place for one last time until the call of the next full moon calls them.
"Morning, Willa!" For someone who just shrunk back and had her bones rearranged, Enid is feeling quite perky.
"I trust last night was uneventful?" Enid gratefully accepted the spare clothes from Wednesday. The writer held the door to let her wife inside the house.
"Mhmm. I did find a clearing though." Enid shrugged the loose shirt in her person. "We can probably have picnics there. It's near a small lake!"
"Sounds dreadfully peaceful." Wednesday replied. "Ah but there's something I need to tell you."
The blonde titled her head in a curious puppy fashion, attention fully on her smiling wife. Seeing Wednesday smile so early in the morning is a bit unsettling even after all the years they have been together; four of which they have been bound by marriage.
"Eleanor stayed up late last night and heard your howls."
Blue eyes widened before Enid's face shined brightly.
"Really? I thought she'd be asleep by the time I transform!"
"That is what I thought as well." Wednesday replied. The two of them went to the kitchen to prepare for the day. "She had decided to stay up late and watch some movies with me."
"What did she say about me?" Wednesday inwardly groaned at her wife's enthusiasm. Without her morning caffeine, everything her wife does will be too bright and early for her half-dead state.
"She was trembling, mon loup." Wednesday replied. "She had been trembling like a leaf about to fall from the tree."
"Oh."
Enid expected it. What kind of toddler would not be afraid of a creature, a beast, a monster like her? Heck, it was even in the fairytales that the big bad wolf is always the villain.
As if sensing dark thoughts from her other half, Wednesday decided to step in before Enid dives deep into her self-deprecating pit.
"Mon chere, she was curious." Taking a sip from her black coffee, Wednesday continued. "I told her all about your wolf when we went to bed. She seemed interested."
"Really?"
"Yes. So may I propose we accompany you on the next full moon?"
Enid's eyes widened. Before Eleanor, it was normal for the two of them to spend full moons together. It was another thing with Wednesday and her fascination with all things macabre and deadly. However it's a different story now that Eleanor wanted to see her wolf side.
Deep down, Enid knew she has full control of her wolf. They have reached an agreement and mutual dependency with each other over time since that fated night. Plus Wednesday can restrain her should she lose control of her wolf and can protect herself even.
But her daughter?
"I will bring the restraints should the need arise." As if reading her mind, Wednesday lightly squeezed her hand in comfort. "I will be there to protect our daughter."
"Thanks, Willa."
"Ma...ma?"
The two of them looked at the door and saw Eleanor sleepily rubbing her eyes. On her person is the stuffed wolf she kept with her last night to ward off any nightmares. It had been a present from her parents on her first birthday and had been her favorite ever since.
"Hello, sweet pup." Wednesday greeted. She waited for El to finish wiping the sleep from her eyes and saw Enid sitting at the table, smiling.
"Mommy!"
El ran and jumped up on Enid's lap. Enid, with her werewolf strength, easily lifted her daughter and placed her on her lap.
"Good morning, baby." She pressed a soft kiss on her daughter's crown. El giggled and snuggled close.
"I miss you, mommy! Where did you go last night?" El tilted her head curiously. Enid tried to avoid the subject but her daughter somehow learned how to do puppy dog eyes, something Wednesday found delight watching her wife fall under the same trick she uses against her.
"Mommy...."
"Went to see the majestic beast." Wednesday piped in. "She had messaged last night that she saw the beast you heard and went to investigate it. She came back late." Enid and Wednesday shared a side glance with each other. The werewolf secretly grateful for covering her from their daughter.
"I wanna see it!" El clapped her hands in excitement. It seems that the tale Wednesday told her last night dissipated the fear she has. "Did you get a picture, Mommy?"
"Mommy forgot. I will take one when I see it again." Enid's eyes got teary and lets out a watery chuckle. Despite the deception, deep down, she was happy that her daughter is curious to see her other half.
"Maybe next month, it will come back." Wednesday added. "We'll conduct a stakeout to trap the beast." Dark eyes met blue ones with amusement lingering underneath. Wednesday knows how much her wife's wolf side enjoy such games during the full moon.
"Right. Enough about that, lets get breakfast."

Chapter Text
The next month came rather fast.
Enid had been anxious. The full moon is tonight and they were going to "stalk" the "beast" that she apparently "saw". This made Eleanor had been very excited.
As soon as she came home from school, she went straight upstairs and packed her bag. Spare clothes, flashlight, her water bottle, and her journal, she tried to fit them into the small backpack. Enid sighed and ventured off to their room to prepare for her monthly routine for the full moon. Wednesday went down to the basement to retrieve the chain restraints as per her request. She and her wife are very confident that Enid's wolf would not pose harm to their daughter but Enid would rather take all the precautions so nothing will hurt her daughter. Luckily, it's the weekend tomorrow so they won't worry about El staying up late.
A knock broke her out of her thoughts. Enid looked and saw Wednesday standing with a heavy-looking bag on her back.
"Are you ready?" Wednesday asked.
"As I'll ever be." Enid sighed. She shoved her snood last in her bag of clothes in case the night becomes cold for their daughter. Speaking of which, El decided to make her appearance, colliding with Wednesday's leg, hugging it tight. her own bag secured at her back.
"Mama! I'm ready!" El exclaimed. Wednesday smiled before ruffling her daughter's hair.
"Did you bring your journal?"
"Yep!" She turned around and proudly showed her pink bag for emphasis.
"Now we go over the rules." At her Mama's serious voice, El stood at attention. She hoisted the straps of her backpack as a show of attention, much to the parents' amusement.
"No running off on your own. And always listen to me." El nodded. "This creature, however beautiful, is still dangerous. I have prepared precautions should the need comes to it." Wednesday sent a subtle smirk at Enid's attention, much to the woman's embarrassment.
"Better be safe that sorry, dear." Enid added. Secretly, she was glad that Wednesday is taking all the necessary precautions to make sure their daughter is far from harm.
Now that all the rules have been set, the family went to the back of their house, facing the forest. Enid took her daughter's hand while Wednesday took care of the picnic basket and they all ventured to the clearing that Enid mentioned to Wednesday. The sun has already set when they have arrived and the crickets slowly announcing themselves. Wednesday laid out a blanket on the ground near a large tree that Enid picked. She deposited their bags by the hole on the tree's trunk to secure them. After which she pulled out a picnic basket and the three of them ate sandwiches while waiting for the moon to peak in the night sky.
"Will it be big like what you told me, Mama?" El asked while munching on her sandwich.
"Very big, pup." Wednesday smirked. "However, despite its size, it's very affectionate unfortunately." She casted a glance at her wife who just gave an amused snort.
The family spent the free time chatting about school and other plans when the first streaks of moonlight pierced the clearing from the trees. Wednesday looked at her wife with resolve before nodding. Enid took a deep breath and turned to her pup with a smile.
"What do you say we go and look for it?"
"Yes!"
Quickly stuffing the rest of her sandwich into her mouth, El wiped her hand on her dress before standing up. She hoisted her bag up before tugging her Mama's arm.
"Hurry up, Mama!"
Wednesday stood up, also grabbing her bag before securing her daughter's hand. The trio walked to the center of the clearing, the moonlight lighting their way. As soon as they reached the center, Enid lets out a pained grunt.
"Mommy?" Of course, El is concerned. One minute her Mommy is all smiling and laughing and the next is her clutching her tummy in pain.
When El tried to get close to her Mommy, Wednesday pulled her back sharply at the same time, Enid let out a scream of pain. Sounds of bones cracking and popping filled the air, realigning themselves to something inhuman. Fur sprouted across Enid's skin and her ears grew pointed and relocated at the top of her head. Her teeth grew pointed and canines growing past her lips. She could feel a tail sprouting behind her, enveloped in fur.
When the transformation is complete, Enid let out a loud howl into the night sky.
El sobbed and held her Mama tight during the ordeal. Wednesday clutched her daughter's trembling frame, patting her head in an awkward assurance. Despite the years, Wednesday is still adverse to comforting people. But she will never deny affection to the two most important people in her life.
"Enid."
At the sound of her name, the werewolf snapped her bright blue eyes to the two people standing way wards from her. She took a sniff in the air and immediately, all her tension evaporated and she relaxed enough to let her guard down. When she saw her wife clutching a smaller person with her, Enid tilted her head in curiosity before brightening up with a happy howl.
"Hello, Enid." Wednesday held out a hand. Enid walked towards them and sniffed at it before bumping her furry head. When the werewolf was near enough to cast a giant shadow, El tensed against her Mama's hip, trying to hide from the creature in front of her.
Enid let out a whimper, blue eyes meeting her wife's dark ones in question and sadness. Wednesday gently patted Enid's head before letting the wolf back away from them to not appear threatening. The writer leaning down to level with her daughter.
"Eleanor?"
At the mention of her name, El sniffled before peeking to meet her Mama. Rubbing her tears, she noticed that the big wolf was nowhere near them. She looked around and saw it curled up near a tree, eyes watching them intently.
"Ma...ma?"
"Yes?"
"Is that... Mom...my?" Enid's ears perked at the mention and swiveled them towards her family.
"Yes, my little pup. Your Mommy is the beast from last month." Wednesday explained. "Your mother is a werewolf, a creature who transforms underneath the full moon. Just like tonight." At the mention of the moon, El looked up in the sky, the light of the full moon illuminating the small clearing, providing light for non-nocturnal creatures. Enid stood up, causing Eleanor to quickly shut her eyes. Enid whimpered before standing still. She can't bear causing pain to her daughter, even if her mere presence is scaring her.
"Are you afraid?" Eleanor could feel her fear slowly ebbing away from her body. In its place is a small spark of curiosity and awe at having a mother that transforms. To answer Wednesday's question, El shook her head. She slowly loosened her hold on her Mama's clothes, her eyes still wide. Enid made sure to not make sudden movements or let out a sound to not scare her daughter anymore than her transformation.
El slowly walked towards the wolf. When she's near enough to see and recognize her mother's eyes, she held out a hand. The sheer size of Enid's wolf is still scaring her so she closed her eyes but held her hand steady. Blue eyes looked apprehensive but after a reassuring nod from the writer, Enid leaned forward and bumped her head on her daughter's hand. When she felt velvety fur come in contact with her hand, Eleanor opened her eyes and saw her mother's massive head leaning on her palm.
"See, mon cherie." Wednesday softly smiled. "You don't have to worry about hurting our daughter." She watched as El continued to pet the furry head, each pat giving the small child the courage and confidence to put both hands on top of the big wolf.
Enid howled softly when she felt her daughter's comfortable aura before nuzzling her. El giggled when soft fur tickled her. As a blood moon werewolf, Enid's werewolf physique is bigger than the usual werewolf so her head makes up El's entire body.
"That tickles, mommy." El giggled. Enid stood up and curled around her daughter, snout tucking her in against her side. Eleanor leaned back against the warm fur that's almost soft as her own bed. Wednesday let out a smirk as she saw her daughter seemingly drowning in her wife's thick fur.
Wednesday left them to retrieve their belongings and placed it near the spot where Enid lays. Eleanor rubs her mother's flank like, forcing Enid to roll over with her belly up. El giggled and lightly scratched the fur on the wolf's belly, laughing when Enid's hind leg moved involuntarily in tandem with the scratching. The werewolf's legs are pawing up in the air, giddy and excited at the prospect of belly rubs and the fact that it was her daughter giving them to her.
When El got tired and slumped over, Enid rolled back and licked her daughter's face, earning a few giggles.
"Good mommy!"
At the praise, Enid's tail wagged happily before nuzzling her daughter. Her ears picked up when Wednesday moved closer. She gave her wife a lick to the face, much to her displeasure, before stretching her body to give space for Wednesday to lean on. She settled their blanket and picnic basket before sitting down on the ground. She took out the leftover sandwiches, which prompted the wolf to sit up. Wednesday gave the remaining sandwiches to her daughter, which El happily shared with her other mother. El's laughter rang as she watched Enid happily wolfed down the sandwiches. Wednesday leaned back and settled comfortably on Enid's flank, placing an arm around Eleanor.
"Mama?"
"Yes, sweet pup?"
"You said the beast was ma-maji...ma-"
"Majestic."
"Yeah!" El beamed before hugging Enid's head in her arms. "She's the bestest in the world."
Enid let out a happy howl before nuzzling contentedly in the comfort of her family. All her tension and worries about Eleanor seeing her werewolf side dissipated as the night pass with the family of three snuggled against Enid's warm fur.
Notes:
