Chapter Text
Death, rebirth, and guilt. One might not associate two of these with each other, yet two of them compliment each other. The dead realm of Gehenna was where these minor deities lived. In the house of Lord Miais, lord of Gehenna and god of death, family, minerals, insanity, weather, the sky, and knowledge. Káti always envied the bond that it’s two little siblings had. Owou and Esther had an unbreakable bond, at least from Káti’s point of view.
It was rather expected as it was adopted by Miais while the other two were his biological children. He had been kind enough to take Káti under his wing, but still Káti had a sting of jealousy. Being the god of misery, guilt, and depression had its perks but also its flaws. Káti couldn’t exactly connect to the younger god, Esther. Though it had something in common with the little bit older god, Owou. Káti desperately wanted to be one of Esther’s role model, just like zer’s sibling was.
It just took one horrible plan. To ruin the balance of the family. Káti stood at the entrance to Lord Miais’s room. Eager to receive it’s next task, or rather victim. It was it’s job to drive souls into insanity to kill them, through it’s misery, guilt and depression. Hence the godly title of it.
Esther was busy pestering zer sibling, admiring everything they did. Even if Owou made a mistake, ze would admire them. Owou was zer role model, zer sibling, zer best friend. Though they never knew if the feeling was mutual, at least on the best friend's part.
The Rocky ground, covered in moss, was underneath zer feet. Watching Owou swing their cutlass at the punishment dead. It was a task assigned by Yargı, though it was very easy for Owou. They usually sat in silence, this was one of those usual times. Chomping down on some fruits that only grew under the ground, sitting in the corner with boredom in zer’s gold eyes. Being the youngest had its disadvantages, like not going on cool missions.
Though Owou always told Esther to not be too excited about the missions, considering zer role in the system ze wouldn’t have the most fun job, unlike Káti and Owou. Still Esther dreamed about the day ze would be able to go on a mission. Soon it was time for Káti to come back, soon they would be called by their father to meet for dinner, then to do whatever they pleased.
Getting called into the dinning room, there sat Lord Miais tall and proud. A terrible plan was about to commence, one would think they would have the last laugh but they were terribly wrong. A plan to kill a lord never succeeds. One might consider it would be the outsider, the loner but you’d be mistaken.
