Meet Me At The Bus Stop

Summary:

After Papyrus met a fine gentleman at the bus stop, he found himself thinking about him a little too much. And I'd be lying if the aforementioned gentleman didn't think the same.

Notes:

This is a crack ship, don't take it seriously. I write it seriously but trust me, this entire thing is a joke, a plot against my friend.

Dedicated to my friend, Rocket, for giving the idea of birthing this out of my head. Enjoy your food, you racoon (affectionately derogatory)

Chapter 1: I saw you in the rain

Chapter Text

It was raining again for the 5th time! Papyrus sighed with annoyance as he rubbed a glove on his head. He looked up the sky with a frown on his face, he watched the sky collapse on him and cry. Papyrus grunted as he began feeling the strain of carrying heavy bags of groceries. He really should go to the gym more and make use of his membership.

The tall skeleton only sighed and kept foot under the protection of the bus stop. Rain had crashed down and made a stampede out of the thin metal.

He had tried to look for his umbrella, hoped it was tucked within the sea of ketchup bottles, cereal boxes and other necessities a monster needed to survive but there were no umbrella found. It had came as a shock to Papyrus to learn that he wasn't as prepared as he thought, he always was but just not today. Though he had come to accept the fact that the possibility of rain slipped from his mind, he couldn't help but cross his arms and sulk.

The rain continued to fall and fall, the sky getting darker and darker underneath those weeping clouds. Papyrus wanted to scream and complain, unleash his inner karen but there were no one he could rant to without looking like a maniac.

He had hoped this rain would come to a stop soon but his patience and hope was waning, thinning as the minutes tick by. More minutes had passed and it already felt like an eternity.

Again, Papyrus sighed. Being stranded and all alone under the bus stop was not on his to-do list today or on any other day. He even started to miss his brother and his lame jokes, he'd consider himself truly mad if he said it out loud.

As he sat there, the sound of footsteps pierced through the deafening rain and had Papyrus standing up, his bonws rattling with a sudden burst of adrenaline. He turned to his side and saw a man, an ordinary man with ordinary black hair and wore an ordinary black suit.

Papyrus took notice of the umbrella that sat in his hand and a single bag of groceries in the other. Seemed like he also went out for the same reason as the skeleton but he came prepared. A certain side of Papyrus mocked him and envied the man's readiness.

"Oh." The man simply said, his eyes widening slightly.

Papyrus nodded, he didn't know why. "Hello."

Silence had settled itself between them. Both of them stood and stared at each other, keeping the silence as they wrack their brains for something to say, to break the silence.

"I'm Serizawa, um and you?" Serizawa began, putting out his hand.

So that was his name, Papyrus calmly thought. He took Serizawa's hand and shook it, "I'm Papyrus, It's nice to meet you, Hu— Serizawa." He offered the man a smile.

Serizawa smiled back, "Same goes to you, Papyrus." He had let go of Papyrus' hand and thought deeply. He looked at Papyrus up and down, seeing him snuggled up in such cozy clothes perfect for a cold weather made him wish he hadn't left his coat at work. Well, he had gone too far from the office and he didn't want to wet his shoes even further. He turned to the bag of groceries at Papyrus' feet, "Out for grocery shopping as well?"

Papyrus hummed, "Oh why yes! Would've been a nice trip if it weren't for the weather. It's been raining 5 days straight too." Complained the skeleton, grumbling the last part to himself.

Serizawa chuckled. "We can share my umbrella if you want. How far is your place?"

If Papyrus were a dog, his ears would've perked up at the Serizawa's suggestion although a part of him hesitated. "Wowie! I appreciate the help but Are you sure? I don't want to cause you any trouble."

The man only raised his hand and shook his head. "No, no! It's fine. You probably have someone waiting for you at home, right? It's better to not worry them." Serizawa looked up to the sky, watching the cloud swirl and mingle with the veil of the night slowly ruling over. "It's getting pretty dark too. It might be too dangerous for you to stay here."

Papyrus followed suit and frowned. "I suppose you're right." He, then, bent down and picked up his groceries though his arms still ached in pain. "You don't mind accompanying me home then?"

Serizawa smiled once again, even wider than the last one or perhaps the widest he had ever smiled. "I don't mind. Let's go then?"

Papyrus nodded and joined Serizawa under the umbrella, his hand brushing against the man's skin. A fleeting yet tender moment that managed to send a shiver down the monster's spine.

Then perhaps, he'd consider putting 'get stranded in a bus stop' in his to-do list.
