Work Text:
It was getting late, the sun was starting to set, the colors of the sky changing by the hour as it went down, slowly leaving place for the night to set in.
The streets were getting emptier as the people went back to their own homes for the night.
BF hadn’t really been planning on anything specific for the night, but, he couldn’t help but feel the need to go visit his big brother. He had a weird feeling about it, and, after the weird call he’d received from this one just before, he couldn’t shake it off. He just had to go check up on him, see if he was fine.
The fact that he knew that BB and Armaros had been living together for a while, being more practical for the angel to keep guard over BB, as was his role of guardian angel, didn’t really help him feel better about it. Even after everything that had happened, even after Armaros had proved his good intentions, that he had changed, and genuinely cared about Michael, he couldn’t help but fear that this one would, one day, snap back into this obsessed rage that had driven him to try to kill demons, and kill BB in the process.
“BB?” Keith asked as he knocked at the door of his brother’s apartment. “Big Brother? Are you there?” He asked after a while of not hearing anything, and no one coming to open the door, his worry increasing.
Feeling his heart tighten with the rising anxiety, BF reached out for the doorknob, hoping that his brother had left the door unlocked, for some reason.
Thankfully for him, the door was, indeed, unlocked. With a sigh, Boyfriend opened the door and made his way inside the apartment, hoping that he would just find his brother sleeping, and that he just didn’t hear the knocks and calls of his brother.
One thing is sure, he wasn’t ready for what he would find in there.
As he arrived in the living room, Keith was met with a sight that shocked him so much he almost fell backwards.
In front of him, on the ground, in a mess of clothes, were Michael and Armaros, but, not as their usual self, they’d somehow been turned into children, or, more like babies. They both looked confused, and upset, as they saw Keith, BB sucking on his thumb as his eyes started to water, while Armaros stared at BF, his eyes also filling up with tears. They were so small compared to their adult height that their shirt was enough to cover their whole body like a dress.
“What happened?!” Keith exclaimed in surprise, as he approached the two kids, hoping that they would be able to explain everything to him, somehow.
Of course, in their current state, neither of them could really reply to him, only looking scared and confused at his upset reaction.
“How did this happen?” Keith mumbled, still in shock, as he tried to figure out what to do with them.
Then, BB started to cry silently, still sucking on his thumb, as if he was trying to pretend that he wasn’t upset, while Armaros looked, just as upset, but also ready to throw something at the poor Bf’s face.
“Ah- What do I do now?” He started to panic, as he wasn’t used to taking care of children, and even less when it was his own big brother, and his killer.
Then came an idea.
Quickly taking out his phone, Keith made a quick phone call for help.
“Boop Bee? Beep Boop Beop!” Keith pleaded into the phone, as soon as the other picked up, panicking as the kids were getting more and more upset. “Beep Bep Skip Beop Beep B! Beeeeep!”
—
“I wonder what kind of trouble Michael got himself into this time.” OB huffed as he made his way to his brother’s apartment.
“I hope it’s nothing too serious.” Khole noted with worry. “You said Keith was panicked? He didn’t tell you what happened?”
“He was. No, he kept talking in beeps and boops again, pleading for me to come help him.” OB explained, trying to sound more annoyed than worried.
“Oh! I hope Michael didn’t have another attack!” Khole worried with a gasp. “We should hurry up!” She started picking up the pace, forcing the older brother to match hers.
They soon arrived at their brother’s apartment. They didn’t bother to knock, knowing that something had happened, and that their brothers needed them. They quickly went in, only to stop in shock at the scene in front of them.
Their little brother, Keith, was there, looking absolutely lost and overwhelmed, as a baby Armaros had climbed onto his head, crying while looking angry, as a baby Michael was crying on the floor, in front of Bf who was trying to reassure him.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!!!” OB let out in pure shock.
“Awwwww!” Khole, on the other side, looked absolutely in awe in front of her little brother trying to take care of the baby version of her twin brother, and of Armaros.
“Please! Help!” Keith cried as he noticed his siblings. “BB won’t stop crying! And Armaros is mad at me for making them cry!”
“What in the world is going on here?!” OB exclaimed, still in shock, only managing to make both of the kids cry harder.
“Older Bro!” Khole scolded him. “You’re scaring them more.”
With that, she quickly went to their poor little brother’s rescue, taking hold of Armaros, as he was fidgeting onto this one’s head, while she instructed OB to take care of Michael, knowing that this one would be less comfortable with Armaros than BB.
Older bro, although he was still confused as to what was happening, followed her instructions, knowing that they had to help their brother and calm the situation before they could try to figure out what had happened.
As soon as OB took Michael in his arms, and started rocking him carefully, to try and calm him down, just like when they were younger, and he had to take care of the twins, Michael immediately gripped onto his shirt, crying onto him.
“Aw~” Khole let out as she watched the scene, while she was doing the same with Armaros, who was staring at BB, his bloody tears soaking onto her shirt.
Poor OB wasn’t as comfortable as her with the whole comforting thing, as he hadn’t had to act that way with his siblings in so many years, and as they’d grown too far apart to really be as close as they used to be. It was definitively awkward for him to be taking back his role of older brother with BB.
Thankfully, the kids were soon calmed down, and immediately fell asleep in their arms, as soon as they stopped crying, as OB sang to them, to appease them, quickly accompanied by the sound of BF humming along.
“How did you manage to calm them down so easily?” Keith wiped his own tears away. “They wouldn’t stop crying with me.”
“You were hard to comfort too when you were that young.” Khole teased lightheartedly, looking very happy with the situation somehow.
“Well, now that this hell is over… What in the world happened here? How come they’ve turned into kids?” Older Bro forced their attention back on the real question, ignoring how flustered he was, as BB clung to him in his sleep, while still sucking on his thumb.
“I don’t know.” Keith shook his head. “I received a weird call from BB, and I got worried, so I came to check on him and found them like that.”
“What did he say?” Khole asked with a frown.
“Nothing. When I picked up, he hung up.” BF shrugged. “That’s why I got worried.”
“Weird, indeed.” OB agreed, absently stroking BB’s hair. “You didn’t see, or hear, anything when you came here?”
“No, I didn’t notice anything.” Keith sighed. “I don’t know what happened to them…”
“At least, they’re not hurt.” Khole smiled at them, to reassure them. “And they’re really cute like that.”
“We can’t leave them like that, though.” OB sighed. “We need to figure out how to turn them back to normal.”
“Maybe I should call Girlfriend? She may be able to help us? Or she can ask her parents about it.” Keith offered, as they all sat onto the couch.
“That’s probably the best option for now.” OB agreed. “It’s pretty late, though. Do you think she’ll be awake?”
“I’m not sure, but I can try to call her.” Bf shrugged. “What do we do about them?” He pointed at the sleeping babies.
“We’ll have to take care of them until they get back to normal.” OB noted.
With that, Bf went in the other room to call his girlfriend, while OB and Khole tried to get comfortable onto the couch, both of them stuck with a clinging baby in their arms, although Khole didn’t seem to mind much, looking quite happy about it, and about seeing her older brother so close to her twin.
It didn’t take long for Keith to come back in the room, announcing that he couldn’t join Gf, and that they would have to wait until morning.
Disappointed, but knowing that they couldn’t really do much about it, the siblings decided to sleep the rest of the night away.
Of course, sleeping with babies couldn’t be as easy as that.
OB woke up to a growing pressure against his chest, something trembling against it. He didn’t need much time to know that it was his baby brother having a nightmare, clinging to him in his sleep.
He quickly hugged his brother, rocking him slightly to try and get him to settle down without waking him up. As he did so, he noticed movement from next to him. Glancing over, he realized that Armaros seemed to be having a bad dream as well, which had woken up Khole.
“You too, huh.” OB sighed. “I didn’t miss that part of being an older brother.” He huffed.
“I wonder what they could be dreaming about.” Khole wondered as she got a better hold onto the little angel, mimicking her older brother to try and get him to relax in her arms.
“Well, at least, they’re not too loud.” Older Bro noted with some relief.
“Come on, it’s not Michael’s type to be loud, even as a baby.” Khole joked.
“You didn’t have to take care of both of you when you were babies.” OB huffed. “You both were loud as hell.”
“Aw, come on. We couldn’t have been that bad, right?” She laughed.
Then, as OB was about to reply to that, the two children woke up, at the same time, and started crying loudly, waking up the poor Keith as well with a start.
“Just like that.” OB gave a small smile.
“What’s going on?” Keith asked, confused. “Why are they crying?”
“They had a nightmare.” Khole explained as she stroked Armaros’ hair, trying to comfort him.
“Welcome to the life of an older brother.” OB teased, as he saw his brother’s confused expression.
Keith observed as his older brother went back to rocking Michael, both him and Khole trying to reassure them that it was just a nightmare, and that they both were safe.
This time, however, BB and Armaros were so upset that they wouldn’t calm down, despite the reassurance of the two siblings.
OB gave a quick glance at his siblings, as he started to sing again, silently asking them to assist him. They quickly caught on and joined him.
As soon as they started singing together, the babies became quieter, finally calming down and looking at them with teary eyes. Their eyes slowly closed the longer they sang, as they got sleepier, relaxing in the siblings’ arms, until they finally fell asleep.
“That took a long time.” Keith pointed out.
“Not that long, believe me.” OB huffed. “It could have lasted much longer.”
“I really wonder what they were dreaming about to be so upset.” Khole said, as she relaxed a little her hold onto Armaros.
“Who knows. It’s not like they’ll be able to tell us in the morning.” Older bro pointed out, frustrated over the situation, but somehow feeling a little more relaxed than earlier about taking care of his baby brother.
“Do you think they’ll be alright?” Keith asked, a little worried about the situation.
“They should be alright.” Older Bro replied, although he couldn’t be sure. “At least, they only got turned into children and not hurt.” He pointed out before sighing. “We should sleep before they have another nightmare.”
“You’re right. We should get as much sleep as we can.” Khole agreed with a smile. “I hope they won’t have another one, though.”
With that, they all resumed sleeping, hoping that the babies wouldn’t wake them up again for another nightmare.
As the morning came upon the siblings, a soft commotion, and a crying sound woke them up.
OB and Khole almost panicked as they realized that they weren’t holding the babies anymore, but quickly realizing what had happened as they looked at their feet.
Armaros and BB seemed to have woken up first, and to have climbed down the siblings, only for Michael to fall on his ass, making him cry as Armaros watched, giggling.
“Now, now.” OB sighed as he picked up BB, trying to comfort him as he stared at the laughing baby on the ground.
Armaros, upon noticing his stare, quickly stopped laughing, crawling to hide behind Khole‘s leg in fear.
“Aww.” Khole couldn’t help but find it adorable. “It’s okay, Armaros. OB isn’t scary, I promise.” She reassured as she noticed him looking back at her with tears in his eyes.
OB didn’t say anything at that, focusing on calming the crying BB as Keith watched them.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for both babies to calm down, Armaros reassured by Khole, as BB was calmed by his older brother’s rocking.
Once he was calm, BB started moving into OB’s hands, trying to escape to go back to the carpet, where Armaros was already crawling around freely, under the watchful eyes of Khole.
The older brother gently put his baby brother onto the carpet, watching him as he followed the baby angel around for a while.
“While they’re playing, you should try to call your girlfriend again.” OB mentioned to Keith. “See if she has any idea how to get them back to normal.”
“Right. She should be awake by now.” Keith nodded, quickly going to Michael’s bedroom to call his gf.
“Do you really think she’ll have a way to turn them back to normal?” Khole as her elder as they watched the kids crawling around, trying to go faster than the other.
“I don’t know. But, she’s a demon. If someone has a chance to know what to do, it’s her or her parents.” He replied.
“I hope she can help us then.” Khole agreed.
It didn’t take long for the little brother to come back in the living room, where Khole and OB waited for him as they watched their baby brother and his guardian angel playing with BB’s confused cat.
He explained that, even though she couldn’t know what happened, she had asked her parents, and they’d concluded that it was a classic spell that shouldn’t last more than a day or two, meaning they would just need to take care of them for that length of time, until they came back to normal.
“Well, that’s quite disappointing.” OB sighed. “I guess we’re stuck as is until that spell is over, then.” He looked over at the babies, who were fighting each other playfully.
“Well, at least we know they’ll be fine soon.” Khole saw the bright side as she watched the kids with a warm smile, absolutely delighted in how cute they both were.
“I’m sorry. They didn’t have anything to speed up the process.” Keith sighed, still worried for his brother, despite knowing that he would be fine.
“It’s okay. We just have to wait until tomorrow, see if they come back to normal or if we need another day.” OB pointed out.
As they were talking, they were startled by the sound of someone’s stomach. Quickly realizing that it was BB’s, they remembered that none of them had even eaten since the beginning of those events.
“I’ll go make us something to eat.” OB announced, while Khole laughed at the reaction of the babies at the noise, looking at each other’s bellies with big eyes.
It didn’t take long for OB to come back with something to eat for everyone, complaining about how empty the fridge was, and how their brother should take better care of himself.
Thankfully for them, feeding the kids wasn’t too hard, as they were just waiting for the food the moment OB came back with it, salivating in front of it, which made Khole laugh.
Eating seemed to have made the children sleepy, as Armaros didn’t take long before curling up against the cat, quickly falling asleep.
BB, on the other hand, seemed to refuse the call of sleep, as he crawled to Keith, trying to get his attention by trying to climb over him.
Keith quickly took hold of him before he could fall, sitting him on his lap, where the sleepy kid made himself comfortable, curling up against Keith’s chest, to go to sleep.
“Aww.” Khole let out in awe as Keith instinctively hugged him, making sure he wasn’t going to fall from his position on his lap.
“Now you know what it feels like to have a baby brother clinging to you.” Older Bro teased with a smile, glad that he was free from his big brother role for a little while. “You better not move, or you’ll wake him up and make him cry.”
“But, what if I need to go to the bathroom?” Keith asked, only half joking.
“You better be ready to keep it in.” OB laughed. “At least, you only have one baby on you.” He teased more. “When I was young, I always had both of them on me.”
“Oh, come on. It couldn’t be that bad.” Khole laughed as well. “We just liked you so much. And you were comfortable.” She teased.
“And you both were pretty heavy already.” OB pointed out lightly. “Our parents weren’t any help either. They always laughed and let me be stuck with you two for hours, until you woke up and went to play.” He recalled fondly.
“Keith wasn’t that clingy, at least.” Khole pointed out to him.
“Not that much with us.” OB agreed. “But, he was clinging to Michael as if his life was on the line most of the time.” He teased as he looked at his little brother.
“I don’t remember it.” Keith mumbled, feeling embarrassed as he held onto his baby big brother.
“When you weren’t clinging to us, you were with Michael.” OB explained with a smirk. “You wouldn’t even allow him to go to the restroom without you. You would stay in front of the door and cry.” He laughed, looking more relaxed than they’d seen him in a long time, which made Khole smile happily as she listened to him.
“You’re lying…” Keith pouted, embarrassed at the idea.
“You wanna bet?” OB smirked at him. “I’m pretty sure our parents still have videos of that. I just have to ask them for it.” He teased.
“No.” Keith shook his head. “I believe you.” He sighed, his face getting red.
“Even back then, you two were already so close.” Khole mused happily.
OB and Khole kept teasing the poor Keith for a while, as both Armaros and Michael slept peacefully, recalling events from when they were younger, and Keith was a baby, making this one blush in embarrassment.
When the babies woke up, Keith set down his baby big brother again, so that he could play with Armaros some more, which they did for a while.
Eventually, they seemed to get tired of coursing each other, and playing with the cat, as the day reached an end.
They both looked at the siblings, looking like they were about to cry again.
“What’s wrong now?” OB asked as he approached Michael, taking him in his arms, as Khole did the same with Armaros. “Are you hungry?” The kids shook their heads. “Need to use the bathroom?” Again they shook their heads. “Tired?” Still a no.
“What’s wrong then?” Khole asked, starting to worry. “Are you hurting?” They shook their heads no.
Then, OB realized that Micheal was pointing at something on the ground. It was the microphone that Keith always carried with him. Seeing that, an idea came to his mind.
“Do you want a song?” He offered, making his siblings look at him in surprise, they hadn’t thought about it.
The two baby boys nodded, their upset expression changing into excitement.
“Then, what about Keith sings something to them?” Khole offered.
“I guess, I can do that.” Keith mumbled, still a little taken aback by the fact that it was really what they wanted.
“I’ll accompany you.” OB said, knowing that it would be better for his brother, and that the babies would enjoy it more.
Keith nodded to that, thankful for the help, and started to sing, something soft, not too fast to not excite them too much.
As they sing, the two babies move a little to the rhythm of the song, looking very happy about it, even more when Khole decided to join in as well.
It didn’t take long for both babies to be soothed to sleep by the song, as it was slow paced enough to act like a lullaby for them.
This time, however, they weren’t clinging to OB and Khole, allowing them to settle the two sleeping boys onto their bed, in Michael’s bedroom.
They decided to sleep on the ground, alongside them, to make sure they wouldn’t have any other nightmare. Despite OB and Khole, Keith insisted on sleeping with them, wanting to bed there if anything happened during the night.
The next morning, as the siblings woke up, they started to panic, noticing that the babies weren’t in the bed anymore, but quickly realized that they could hear their quiet voices from the kitchen.
“Good morning.” Michael greeted happily. “We’ve made breakfast for everyone.”
“Hi.” Armaros just said, looking very embarrassed.
“Michael! Armaros!” Khole quickly went to hug them, surprising the poor angel, who wasn’t used to these things. “You’re back to normal!” She pointed out happily.
“BB, I’m glad you’re back to normal.” Keith hugged his brother as well, happy that this was all over.
“Thank god, that’s over.” OB sighed. “Now, you two can explain to us what the hell happened to you, to make you revert to babies for a full day.” He pointed out in a scolding way, returning to his more closed off self.
“Well…” Michael rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “We’ve been talking about it before you woke up…”
“We have no idea what happened.” Armaros finished for him.
“What do you mean, ‘No idea what happened’?” OB repeated with frustration. “Someone used a spell on you, you must know what happened.”
“We don’t have any memory of what happened before we were transformed.” Armaros explained.
“We remember chilling in here, and then we don’t know what happened, we were suddenly kids.” Michael gave a little more details.
“It’s okay. It’s not important.” Khole pointed out happily. “The most important is that you both are alright, and back to normal. Although, you were so cute together as babies.” She teased.
“Well, I for sure am glad this is over.” OB sighed. “You really need to stop getting into troubles.”
“Sorry.” Michael gave an awkward chuckle.
With that, they all settled down to eat the breakfast that the boys had cooked for them. Talking about what had happened, Khole and Keith talking about how cute they both were as babies, and how they kept clinging to them, while the poor Armaros and BB were pretty embarrassed by the whole affair.
In the end, they never really figured out what had happened to make them turn back into children, but they could only hope that nothing like that would ever happen again.
