Work Text:
“My turn for the aux cord,” Seungmin sings out as he grabs the cord.
Jisung pouts and whines out, “But I want you to listen to this song!”
“Too bad,” the brunette sticks his tongue out at the other as he plugs his phone in, “It’s my car anyways.” He starts playing his music.
“And?” Jisung says, dragging the word out in a whiny tone. “You would like it!” He tries to reach for the cord.
“Hey! I’m about to start driving, you can’t do that!” the younger of the two says, laughing a little. He begins pulling out of his parking spot and driving down the road.
“ Please Minnie! Just this one song!” the black hair male says, pouting more. This makes Seungmin close his eyes and let out a laugh.
“Maybe when we head back home,” Seungmin says, looking over at Jisung. He has one hand on the steering wheel as they make a left turn.
A gasp leaves Jisung’s lips and he screams, “Seungmin watch ou—”
—
Seungmin and Jisung have always been inseparable. The two males met in their first year of elementary school and have been close ever since. They always felt like the two of them fit perfectly together. Seungmin is talented in taking pictures and shooting videos while Jisung is talented in singing and writing music. The eldest of the two would always have Seungmin if he could shoot miny music videos for him. The brunette could never deny his friend.
“Would you care to film another mini mv?” Jisung asks as he sits down beside Seungmin. They are outside their college, sitting on a bench.
“Yeah, I don’t mind. Let me set up my camcorder real quick,” the younger male says. He takes his camcorder out of his bag to get it set up and ready.
“Are you sure? Wouldn’t your cast get in the way of that?” the blond asks.
“Positive. It doesn’t get in the way too much,” Seungmin answers as he stands up. “Alright, ready to go. Where do you want to film?”
“What about over there in front of the rose bushes?” the elder questions.
“That’ll be perfect!”
They walk over to the rose bush hand in hand. Holding hands has always brought the two so much comfort. Many people have asked them if they were dating and they would always answer that they weren’t and that they are only close. Some wouldn’t believe them but they don’t have to explain their friendship to anyone. It’s for them to understand.
“Okay, you can start recording whenever!” Jisung says with a smile.
“I’ll count down before I start,” Seungmin says before counting down from three.
Once the brunette hits record, he instantly starts giggling at his friend. Jisung starts singing while doing funny dances, he makes weird faces as he does so. The two of them get a few weird looks from people passing by but they only ignore it. The friends are in their own little world.
Minutes later Seungmin stops recording and the two males start watching what was recorded. Both of them laugh as they watch it back.
“Do you want to go to our little hangout room since we both have over an hour to kill?” Jisung asks once they stopped watching the camcorder.
“Yeah, sure!” Seungmin replies with a smile.
They both walk back over to the bench to collect their things that they left there. When they are done, the two males begin making their way back into the college, heading for the second floor. It doesn’t take them long to get to the hangout area. It’s an abandoned classroom with a couch and a few desks. Seungmin sits his things down and then flops onto the couch, Jisung joins seconds later.
“Are you going to have your mom turn that into a vhs for you?” Jisung asks, looking at his friend.
“Yeah, are you wanting a copy?” the brunette asks in return.
“Absolutely. Going to keep it on repeat,” Jisung says as he giggles a little. Seungmin also lets out a laugh. The elders eyes then land on the cast that’s on the other male's arm. “I still haven’t signed your cast yet,” he says.
“Oh yeah, you haven’t,” Seungmin looks down at his arm, “I have a sharpie in my bag.” He opens his bag to get the sharpie and then hands it to Jisung.
The blond takes the sharpie from his friend, uncaps it, and begins writing on Seungmin’s cast. He writes a little message, signing it with his name and a smiley face. Jisung smiles once he is done. He puts the cap back on it and hands the sharpie back to his friend. “There!” he says.
Seungmin looks down at it and smiles. The message is telling him to heal faster so the two of them can play baseball again.
“You’re adorable Sungs. I can’t wait until we can play baseball again,” he says, looking at the older male now.
“Let’s make sure it’s our best game yet,” Jisung says, returning Seungmin’s smile.
The younger male unlocks his phone and checks the time. “We still have a good bit until we have class. I might set an alarm and take a nap, these pain meds are making me drowsy,” he says.
“I can take one with you and you can use my shoulder as a pillow,” Jisung suggests.
“Yeah, that sounds great.” Seungmin situations himself to where he’s laying on his side a little and his head is resting on Jisung’s shoulder. “I hope you nap well, Sungie.” He smiles softly to himself and closes his eyes.
“I hope you do too, Minnie.”
Seungmin’s dream is filled with memories of him and Jisung. Starting when the two males met when they were five up until recently. This last memory goes by in slow motion and he’s watching it all from the backseat of his car. It’s minutes before the accident . He watches it all happen again, his dream is turning into a nightmare.
Seconds before the semi truck crashes into Seungmin’s car, his alarm goes off and his eyes flutter open. He thanks his alarm for going off before the worst part of it all.
Slowly he sits up, it took him a second to realize that he’s no longer using Jisung as a pillow. He looks around the room to find out his best friend is no longer there. “The brat left me here by myself,” he whispers with a laugh, shaking his head. He has this feeling that he should look at his cast, his eyes widen when he does.
It’s blank again.
