Work Text:
“Lixie,” You whine, latching onto your boyfriend’s arm, “I’m cold.” You had loved the idea of tonight; the two of you, along with the rest of the Strays and their partners, having a beach bonfire to celebrate the new year. Only now it was almost midnight, and the wind coming off the beach was chilling you despite your thick coat and the blazing fire.
“Well, yeah.” Felix laughs, “Is the middle of the night on a beach, in Korea, in December?” He sasses you, stuffing his hands deeper into the pockets of his jacket and sticking out his tongue at you.
“Listen here, you little shit.” Your deadpanned comment makes Jeongin snort his drink as he walks by.
“Oh come on, mate,” Chan starts, “They just want a cuddle.”
“You’re such a stone-cold boyfriend.” Jisung chastises, shaking his head in mock disbelief. The other boys took every opportunity to tease the two of you. At first, Felix was too cuddly; now, he wasn’t cuddly enough. He loved cuddling you in private, when you could become a tangled mess of limbs and practically fuse together without others peering in or asking you for something. In public, though, he did his best to keep any unwanted attention away and kept the PDA to a minimum.
“He is!” You whine, stomping in false anger. The boys around you laugh, knowing you don’t mean it. “He never cuddles me!” You lie.
“Hey! The countdown’s starting!” Jeongin calls, “Ten!”
Felix looks over at you, opening his coat for you to cuddle inside. You happily dive into his side, relishing both the warmth and the feeling of his arms around you.
“Nine!”
“You know I love cuddling you, I just hate hearing them make fun of us.” He confesses.
“Eight”
“I know.” Your voice is muffled by his side, “It doesn’t bother me much, means they accept me.”
“Seven”
“Yeah, they really do.” He muses.
“Six”
“Jeongin and Hyunjin especially.”
“Five”
He laughs, and you finally look up at him to see the way his eyes wrinkle.
“Four”
“Maybe.” He begins, looking down, “But you know who loves you more?”
“Three.”
“Who?” You grin, already knowing what his cheesy ass answer is going to be.
“Two.”
The grin he’s got just gets wider.
“One!”
“Me.” He moves his arm from around you, cupping your chin and bringing his lips down to yours. Cheers erupt around you as the boys get their own kisses. You pull away from your lover to share a laugh as Jisung tackles Changbin for a kiss.
It was cold on the beach, and you had no idea what the future was going to look like, but you knew as long as you had Felix at your side, and Stray Kids behind you, you could face whatever the coming year would throw at you.
