Chapter Text

As Nya and Wu fought against Acronix. Kai was left in a solo battle with Krux, using his katana, Kai started swinging. Keeping Krux far enough but blocking his attacks at the same time. Krux growing frustrated by his inability to disarm Kai kicked him while his katana was raised to attack. Kai let out a shout as he was kicked off the Iron Doom. He quickly caught himself from the outside as he stared down as time traveled below. Krux walked over, his blade raised glaring down at the defenseless ninja below clinging onto a piece of metal for dear life. Problem was Krux didn't think it was enough damage with just a sword. Krux grabbed the reversal blade causing the Iron Doom to wobble.

"Brother what are you doing?!" Acronix shouted as he kicked away Nya, launching her into Wu.

"Making sure we never have to deal with this brat again!" He snapped back.

Krux charged up the reversal blade, causing it to glow and spark with energy. Before blasting Kai with the blade, causing his body to absorb the charge of the reversal blade. The sudden blast made his grip loosen, he screamed as he fell off the iron doom and into the rapidly passing time stream below.

"KAI!!" Nya shouted hearing her brother fall. She growled as she picked Krux away from the opening and stared down watching her brother fall into an unknown time.

Wu was in shock, but he knew he had to keep Nya safe. He ran straight for Krux, kicking the blade out of his hands and catching it in an instant, he ran to Nya quickly giving her the blade and pushing her off to the correct time to save her father.

As Kai fell down he could feel his body growing smaller and small, his ninja gi feeling looser as he got closer to the ground. Letting out a loud yelp as he fell into snow near the top of a mountain. Kai struggled to get up, his whole body aching. He looked around trying to spot anyone, but he couldn't see anything with the snow blurring his vision. He tried to warm up using what little energy he had into starting a small fire on his hands as he began to walk, his clothes wrapped loosely around him. As he walked in no particular direction, he felt something tug his shirt, before seeing what had pulled him, the ground below his feet began to shake a horrid smell coming from a hole now in the ground. Kai screamed as he fell down his shirt still stuck on what appeared to be a lever. He fell down an icy slide and straight into a cave. Kai slid on the cold ice floor, he squeaked as he slid right into a nest of eggs. He looked at the eggs and then at himself, to his shock he was the same size as the eggs.

“W-where am I?...” he muttered looking around the icy cave, he noticed his voice was higher than normal. “The reversal blade! It turned me into a kid!! UGH!”

Kai slowly stood up placing his tiny feet on his overgrown pants. A soft hiss came from behind him, Kai turned around and screamed as a snake stood above him staring down at the small child. It’s piercing blue eyes examining Kai, it slowly slid around Kai looking at him up and down, the scales on its body blending in with the ice and snow, white scales with a few spots of blue.

“Hello Hatchling” it said softly, Kai now realizing it’s a female hypnobrai.

Kai took a step back, his body shaking with fear, he didn't know if his small body seemed more vulnerable and appetizing for a snake her size.

"W-what do you w-want? '' he asked, shivering, having nothing but the small bandana around his neck barely covering the top of his torso.

She flicked her tongue softly sensing his body heat was low, she looked around and slithered off. Leaving Kai shivering, he turned to the eggs knowing they were probably warm enough for him to hold. He walked into the nest and curled up in the middle of the eggs feeling slightly warmer surrounded by other life forms. He didn't notice the snake slithering back dusting off snow from an old jacket and extra clothing they had laying around from past 'Visitors'. She looked at Kai and smiled seeing him curled up around the eggs. She gently picked him up and got him into some warm clothes.

Kai looked up at the snake, letting her put on the warm clothes. "Who…who are you?.." he asked softly, still cautious of the snake caring for his warmth.

The serpent smiled as she finished dressing up “My name issss Eira, what were you doing up here in the mountains little hatchling?” she set him down on the icy floor.

Kai hugged himself, he didn't even know how got onto the mountain, or even why he was here. All he knew what the fact that there was no way home. He felt himself tearing up, with his new child body, his emotions got the better of him. He began to cry sadden by the fact that he night never get home. To his friends or family, he was stuck. Here, with a Hypnobrai, in an icy cave.

Eira gently hugged him, rubbing circles on his back "Shhh...easssy hatchling..." She soothed.

Kai tried to calmed down, taking shaking breaths struggling to breath through his tears. "I-I don't...know...." He muttered "I... don't know how I got there..."

Eira sighed softly as she pulled away and wiped away his tears "Calm hatchling, you can sssstay here until we find your home..." She hissed softly, trying to reassure Kai to keep him calm.

Kai hiccupped as he slowly smiled "T-thank you Eira..." He took a deep breath, slowly letting out until he was fully calm.

Eira smiled as she gently picked him up and put him back with the eggs. She wrapped herself around the eggs as she slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Kai relaxed as he cuddled the eggs and fell asleep, hoping that he could find a way home, and to turn back to his original age.

Okay most of this book will not include the ninja and will mostly be Kai and Eira so I hope you enjoy the book! More updates soon!

It was hard to tell time in that icy cave. Was it the middle of the night? Or was it sunrise....Whatever Time it was Kai had awoken to a circle of snowman surrounding him, Kai quickly rubbed his eyes not sure if he was looking at snowmen. He looked back at the figures, his eyes widened as he sucked in a breath. Those weren't snowmen, they were a group of female hypnobri. The three female hypnobri began poking Kai, lifting his arms and legs, studying him up and down. Kai felt so vulnerable being poked at, stared at, and studied like a wild animal. He tried to be brave but he felt tears welling up in the corners of his eyes. The 3 pulled away as they began talking to each other giving glances at Kai in suspicion.

"What isss a Human. Child. Doing here." she mumbled.

"I don't know. But he hasss to leave." the second one hissed softly.

The third one nodded "Let'ss get him out of here before the General seessss" she hissed and reached down to pick up Kai.

Kai felt his entire body freeze. Not because of the coldness of the cave but due to fear, if he was thrown out of this small home he would surly freeze to death outside. He had no way of knowing where he was or how far the nearest place full of people was. This was his own safe haven and he couldn't leave without the risk of dying. As the female hypnobri reached for him he couldn't do anything back looked at the hands that chose his fate of living or dying.

As their scaly hands got closer to take Kai away from the nest another voice entered the hatchery.

"May I asssk what you three are doing to my eggsss." the voice hissed softly.

The three female turned and hissed in slight annoyance when the saw who it was.

"Hello Eira." 

Eira huffed as she bowed her head slightly to greet her "Evening Neve." she hissed with displeasure.

Neve huffed "We were just checking the nestsss. And we noticed a" she looked at Kai with disgust "Human in your nest." Neve said with a hint of disapproval.

"How could you let a human into the tribe?!" the other hissed.

"Hush Talvi." Neve huffed as she slithered towards Eira slightly towering over her. "You dare bring human into our tribe. You will be considered a traitor amongst usss all. How do you know it is not a danger to the hatchlingsss?!" Neve said trying to guilt Eira.

Eira huffed as she slithered across the icy floor towards her nest and gently picked up Kai seeing him shaking from fear and discomfort. Her motherly instincts kicked in, ready to protect her children.

"You have to set an example for the young onesss." Neve snapped "You can't go around bringing in strangerssss!"

"Well then. I guess I will have to introduce him to everyone. Huh?" Eira said in a snarky tone. not taking this conversation seriously.

Neve scoffed "Talvi. Nyoka." She huffed and slithered away with the other 2 hypnobri.

Kai shivered and looked up at Eira, he was shocked that a snake would defend a human to such an extent and the possibility of being exiled from the clan. He was so grateful for her. Feeling so powerless and weak to the fact that he couldn't defend himself in the 5 year old body he was stuck in.

Eira gently pet Kai's hair "Let's go get you ssssettled in..." she smiled and slithered off going through some tunnels slithering passed some caves. Slowly entered a cave opening with strange symbols Kai didn't understand.

Looking around the cave Kai saw decorations, hanging ice figures and toys made of ice and snow. It looked like a daycare. Then Kai heard the soft cheering and hissing of snakelets, he was in awe on how advanced the Hypnobri were. They had a daycare for children and taught them stuff. Eira put Kai down on the floor as she slithered over to another adult hypnobri.

The snake turned to Eira "Eira! I'm ssssurprised to sssee you here" he hissed softly "Have your eggs hatched?"

Eira smiled "Evening Fangsss, looking sharp as ever" Eira complimented with a small smile "No my eggsss have not hatched, but I wanted to introduce someone to the Nursery" she gently pulled Kai over and held him in front of Fangs.

Kai looked up at the serpentine with slight terror. The snake towered over him, making Kai feel so small and vulnerable. With a shaking hand he waved trying to loosen the tension.

Fangs stared down at Kai and dropped his ice sheet of names causing it to shatter on the ground "You want to introduce a human?!" Fangs whispered through gritted teeth.

Eira frowned and nodded "Yes. Isss there a problem?" she glared.

"Eira! You're going to cause a panic in the tribe! I cannot allow this." Fangs tried to slither away.

"Please Fangs, just for today, if it goesss wrong I will never bring him back.." Eira tried to bargain.

Fans sighed and looked at Kai "Very well. Jussst for today." he gently grabbed Kai's wrist.

Kai slowly followed fangs shivering from the coldness of his scaly hands, he turned to Eira praying to the first spinjitzu master this went well for him. Kai was led to a group of child hypnobri and was sat in the back, Fangs slithered away leaving Kai to the mercy of a bunch of children. He hoped this wouldn't end horribly.

Nya was pacing back and forth trying to figure out what to do. What she could build. A possible solution to save her brother from the horrors of time. There was no telling where and when he was. He could be on the dark island during their adventures fighting the overlord. He could be on a comet flying through space with the golden weapons. There were just so many possibilities and non of them were good ones. Nya turned to Zane who was helping her, she hoped Zane had a solution. Zane only had a look of despair being a nindroid was useful when coming up with solutions, but as of now there was no way of traveling through time.

"Zane? Did you find a solution? A-a way to find Kai?" Nya asked hopeful

Zane sighed and shook his head "No, my apologies, I cannot find any possible solution without the time blades"

Nya felt her heart break a little, this whole situation felt surreal. First her and her brother were fighting against masters of time to save their father, and now Kai was lost in time. Deciding to clear her head she walked off to find her mother, in hopes of her having a way to calm down and think of more rational solutions. Maya and Nya may not know much about each other, but at the moment Maya was the only family Nya knew.

Maya was sitting in the living room of the floating monastery with Ray, both were worried sick for their son hoping he wasn't gone for good. Once Nya walked in they both got up hoping Nya had good news to share about Kai's situation. But when they saw Nya's tears, their hope vanished. Ray got up and walked over to Nya and put a hand on her shoulder to try and provide her some comfort during their search, he knew it was hard for Nya. Kai had practically raised her while they were held hostage my Acronix and Krux, he felt horrible for not being able to protect them better.

"..Water Lily....do....you wanna talk about it?" Ray asked softly, only getting a soft head shake from Nya.

Nya did want to talk about it, but she was scared that her parents would blame Nya for letting Kai fall. It just happened so fast, Krux had his sword raised, Nya wasn't fast enough to kick him away before he struck Kai, making him fall. The guilt was eating at her slowly, making her lose the urge to get out of bed. Because she knew Kai wouldn't be there to greet her, he would probably never be there for her again. It was such a chilling thought, but the possibility of Kai coming back was slim without the time blades. Nya was so lost in thought she only realized she was zoned out once both her parents hugged her tightly, causing her to break down sobbing. She hoped Kai was okay, praying to the First Spinjitzu Master he was safe.

Back with Zane he was still working on finding a way to go back in time, he searched through his data base to find more information on the time blades, hoping that there was a way to find them all again despite them probably being lost in time. He had to figure out a way to get his friend back, the Monastery felt so empty without him. Zane picked up some spare metal and started making a capsule, hoping that if he could get the Reversal blade it could at least take them back in time, problem was how they would get back to present times. Zane let out a groan of frustration he wished he had P.I.X.A.L in his head so he could talk to someone. Zane sighed and was about to give up, Jay walked in with an irritated look.

"Ugh! That girlfriend-stealing! No good Cole! How come he is the one holding Nya while she cries!? I should be the one comforting her!" Jay huffed.

"I thought you two settled your feud during the Tournament of Elements?" Zane stated.

Jay looked at Zane, "...Yeah, but I just....I want to be the one to hold her and comfort her..." he admitted.

Zane walked over to Jay and put a hand on his shoulder. "Jay I am telling you this as a friend, you won't have a good relationship with Nya if you are jealous of any male friend that hugs, and or touches her..."

Jay sighed "You're right, I'm sorry I'm just so stressed..." he rubbed his temples, before continuing. "With Kai being lost in time, and Master Wu as well, it's just so overwhelming"

"I know Jay, it's very stressful for all of us, but if we stay frustrated we won't be able to find solutions...Do you want to help me make a time machine?" Zane asked, earning a nod from Jay.

Zane and Jay worked for hours, doing trials with fruits, and even needing to recalculate certain things, but they didn't want to give up. They kept working and soon they were able to get a slight result, they managed to send an apple 2 minutes into the future. They were happy from the result, if they got their hands on the reversal blade it would give them a better result. They wanted to ask Nya if she could go get the Reversal blade, hopefully Lloyd hadn't hid it yet and they could get it and use it for their time machine. 

"Hang in there Kai, we'll find you soon.." Zane muttered under his breath as he walked out back inside to ask Lloyd where the Reversal Blade is.

Kai sat on the floor surrounded by a bunch of snakes, he was terrified to say the least. He had no idea how these snakes acted or what they would do to him once they figured out he wasn't a snake. Kai stumbled over himself from the oversized clothes Eira had scavenged from the icy caves. Kai curled up inside the coat covering his face up, trying to not get attention, but a bright orange jacket on an icy blue floor stood out more than Kai wanted.

"Who isss that?"

"Is it food?"

"I think it'sss a new toy!" the soft whispers of the snakelets surrounded Kai, making him shutter.

Fangs slithered over "Alright my little hatchlings let'sss....introduce our newesst friend.." he said hesitantly as he gestured to the ball of orange. "Thisss is Kai, he iss going to stay with us for a small time while Eira arranges his place in her home"

The little snakes looked at Kai in awe, it was rare to have someone new, especially since all snakes grow up together and know one another from hatching. They all began to wave, greet Kai and even try and see his face, but Kai kept his hood completely over his face. There were so many snakes, and surely they were stronger than him because of their environment. So he just delt with being poked at for a couple minutes.

"Why can't we ssssee him?" A little snake asked.

".....Uh....who wantsss a sstory?!" Fangs smiled awkwardly as he quickly slithered off to grab a book from the shelves. A bunch of snakelets following him with excitement.

2 snakes stayed behind with Kai, they sat on either side of him gently patting the sweater.

"It'sss okay, we will stick with you!" One said, Kai could tell they were smiling by the cheerful tone.

"Yeah! Our namess are Sleek and Frost! Nice to meet you Kai!" Sleek said.

Kai couldn't help but giggle at their names, they sounded so strange to him, but they were snakes and he was a human, they probably thought his name was strange too since it didn't have any snowy or snake related names. Sleek and Frost stayed by Kai's side chatting about themselves while the others were hearing a story, Frost was the more excited to talk, he would constantly try and open Kai's sweater to get a glace at their new friend but Kai kept himself hidden. Sleek had to continuously push Frost off Kai scolding him about respecting Kai's privacy, but he was also curious about what Kai looked like.

During their snack time Kai, Sleek, and Frost stuck to a corner. And unluckily for Kai humans just *had* to eat, so he had no choice but to come out of his little cocoon to eat what they had to offer. He glance at Sleek and Frost, they were both blue with white and yellow spots along their faces that looked like freckles with a swirl pattern on their cheeks, their stomachs were covered in yellow scales. But Kai saw what they were eating, he wasn't pleased. 

Sleek looked at Kai and blinked staring at him wondering, where were his scales? Why weren't his eyes red and swirly? What was that stuff on his head? Still Sleek held out his hand offering Kai some of his snack, rats. What could Kai expect, they were trapped in the tomb with no way of going out to hunt, they had to stick with what they could find and whatever snuck in.

But that didn't stop Kai from shivering as he took the rat from Sleek's hands. He stared at it wondering if this was truly rock bottom, eating rats with the serpentine. Kai closed his eyes tightly as he began to eat, imagining he was biting into a piece of fried chicken. Sleek watched with a smile hoping Kai was enjoying it, it was the only thing they ate and he thought all creatures ate it. Kai swallowed the meat letting out a small shaky breath, trying to to think about where the meat came from.

"T-that's not so bad" he said smiling awkwardly.

"Oh be careful how you chew it, sssometimes the bones and nails poke the inssside of your mouth" Frost said softly.

"...O-oh! T-thanks for the warning" Kai muttered looking at the rat in his hands. He shivered slightly and finished eating.

"What tribe are you from? You're not a hypnobri.." Frost said softly taking another bite.

"...uhh.....I haven't gotten my scales yet?-" Kai tried to lie, he didn't want to be outed as a human especially not now.

Frost and Sleek stared at Kai for a couple seconds, knowing full well snakes get their scales the moment their hatch. But seeing how scared and shy Kai looked, they just let it slide. They both gave a small understanding nod as they finished their snack. Kai was so thankful his lie worked, he sat there looking around the small classroom, he didn't realize how little he knew about the serpentine, if they were able to make a whole room to learn out of ice, what else could they do? The stories he had heard, the books he had read and the battle he fought all seemed wrong, misleading. These snakes were peacefully living, so why had they been separated? Why was everyone so afraid of them when they clearly knew nothing? These were just children, not bloodthirsty snakes who fought each other till the death. But then again, Kai had only been here a day so he couldn't jump to conclusions or assume they are always peaceful.

Fangs slithered around the class, making sure all the snakelets were behaving, doing their own thing. He made sure to record what their were doing on an ice tablet, he glanced over and the 2 little snakes with Kai and couldn't help but smile. They had no idea what Kai was, they didn't know the conflict between human and serpentine. If only it could remain that way, but he knew eventually their leader, White Tail, would hear about the child through the slithers. He hoped Eira had a plan to either hide the child, or find a way to give him back to the humans up top.
