Work Text:
"Itto, you can't dice onions like that!"
"Whaddya mean? I'm getting the job done, aren't I?"
"You're making a mess!"
Thoma rushes to snatch the kitchen knife away from the Oni, stopping him from slamming the knife down repeatedly on some poor onions.
Today was Thoma's day off, and he decided that it wasn't a bad thing to help Itto prepare lunch for his husband who was also his very own boss. A weird way to spend the day off, no?
Thoma wasn't really into the dating scene, he supposes. He's received confessions here and there, all of them talking about how kind and caring he was. It's true, but Thoma is just nice to everyone.
On the other hand, his boss wears his wedding band proudly on the ring finger of his left hand. A wedding ring that matches the one in Itto's possession that he cherishes more than anything. But of course, that doesn't stop people from shooting his shot with Ayato.
If his employees try too hard to flirt with him, they get fired.
Ayato is a powerful man in the industry, owning multiple companies and even having a huge fan base cause of his looks. And there's even people that go crazy because of his reputation.
Kamisato Ayato is known to be smart, cunning, and calculating, not phased by anything. He always seemed to be two steps ahead of everyone else.
Of course, if they saw him around his husband, they'd be surprised.
Thoma has seen the way Ayato lights up whenever he sees Itto. Going from an emotionless expression to giddily running up to his husband. And the Oni was just as lovesick, following his lover around like a huge, lovable puppy.
Thoma has known Ayato for his whole life, the man used to worry about his future a lot. One time, not long after they were both out of college, Ayato shows up late at night with a few beers in hand.
They sit and drink and talk about everything and nothing. Ayato then suddenly confesses that he thinks he's found his future. Thoma expected his friend to tell him about a job path or something like that.
But instead, Ayato shows him a photo of him together with an Oni. The first thing he notices is that said Oni was almost a whole head taller that Ayato, and the second thing he notices is how much sheer happiness is shown on his friend's face.
Thoma doesn't say much about it, only a small smile and a curt "Congratulations." It wasn't that he didn't feel happy for his friend, but it seemed like everything happened very fast, too fast.
Ayato spent the whole night talking about his lover. They had only been together for a few months at that point, but Ayato was already asking Thoma to be the best man at his wedding, and he agreed.
Not long after that night, he meets Itto himself. And to say he was shocked would be an understatement. He expected someone who'd at least be somewhat similar to Ayato, but boy was he wrong.
Itto was loud, boisterous, and unapologetically himself. Almost a complete opposite of Ayato.
Thoma remembers that Itto wore a crop top the first time they met, and it wasn't quite acceptable for men to wear "feminine" clothing or anything of the sorts. So already, Itto made a great impression on him.
The man is a hunk of muscle that's about 7 feet tall, who was gonna try and stop him?
From what he could see, the two did love each other endlessly, Ayato disliked physical contact and hated anyone messing with his face or hair, but he watched as Itto used his hands to squish Ayato's cheeks together before placing a kiss on pouting lips. The Oni laughed, saying stuff like, "Where'd Ayato go? Why's this fish here?" Before giggling helplessly at his own joke.
And Ayato only at Itto with a fond look in his eyes, letting the Oni do whatever he wants. They were a disgustingly sweet couple.
_____________
Itto finishes up cooking and packs them into two lunch boxes they had lying around. Thoma had left with a laugh, telling Itto to hurry up if he wants to make it to Ayato's office before said man walks out to get takeout.
The Oni moves around the house like a man with a mission, he grabs a reusable bag and fills it with tons of stuff. Things like a reusable water bottle that was the size of Itto's forearm, a blanket, and a book.
He also grabs a slightly smaller bag and puts the lunch boxes in it along with their utensils.
After that, Itto rushes out of the house, but not before making sure to turn off the lights and lock the door.
Ayato made a joke about the world ending and global issues and Itto took it to heart.

"This must be the place…"
Itto grumbles as he stands in front of a massive building, so massive that Itto can't even see the top of it.
He's wearing something a bit more modest compared to what he usually dons, a gray fitting sweater and some jeans. He knows it isn't exactly formal wear, but he's close with the boss soooo.
Itto walks through the automatic glass doors and was in awe of how huge the place truly was. He watches the employees rush around, there was something almost satisfying about the constant sounds of heels clacking against the ceramic floors.
He lets out a quiet hum as he makes his way towards the reception counter. The only advice Ayato offered when Itto asked about visiting his office for absolutely no reason at all was "act like you're supposed to be there."
So Itto follows the advice as best as he can, head held high like he always does, taking confident strides.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The kind lady sat at the counter sweetly enquire.
"I wanna see Ayato." Itto thinks he may have screwed up as the lady's jaw dropped. She fixes her expression immediately, clearing her throat before she continues.
"I see… Do you have an appointment?"
"Err, do I need one?" Seeing the way she looks even more bewildered, Itto thinks the answer to his question might've been yes.
"Yes, you do. Anyway, I'm sorry sir. Without an appointment, I cannot simply allow you to see Mr Kamisato."
Itto thinks about this long and hard, the gears turn in his head and soon after, he lets out an "Oh!".
"I'm his husband!" Itto says it with his whole chest, anyone would be swimming in pride to have the Kamisato Ayato as their spouse.
But the receptionist looks unamused, so Itto feels obliged to defend his honor. "It's real! I have proof!" A pout forms on the Oni's face as he sets the bags down to pull out his phone.
After some time spent scrolling through his gallery, he proudly shows the lady some of his and Ayato's wedding's photos.
However, her expression remains unchanged. "Wow, what editing software did you use for these?"
Itto's eyebrows furrow, "Will you believe me if I called him right now?"
"That decision would be unwise, Mr Kamisato is currently in a meeting."
"But I wanna go to his office now… When does it end?" As time ticks, Itto only gets more frustrated.
"Sir, please have some patience, the meeting should end soon." From her expression, the lady too feels frustrated.
Itto only sighs, he doesn't want to disturb Aniki's work! But he just misses the older male so much! Itto will just send him a text. Yeah, just one short text will do.
Itto sends a "Anikiiiiii" to the contact saved endearingly as "Husbandd♡". He receives a response immediately.
Husbandd♡: Itto? What's up?
Darling♡: Nothinn
Darling♡: I jus miss uu
Husbandd♡: I miss you too, darling.
Darling♡: R u busy?
Husbandd♡: A bit.
Husbandd♡: I can leave now if you want.
Darling♡: Nooo
Darling♡: Ill come to u
Husbandd♡: What do you mean?
Husbandd♡: Itto?
Itto shoves his phone into his pockets and decide to speak to the receptionist once more. "Hey, lady, which floor is Ayato's office at?"
"The top flo- "
"Thanks!"
With that, Itto grabs his bags and makes a run for the elevator. He lets out a loud laugh as he hears the receptionist yell out a furious "Hey!".
Pressing the buttons for the top floor, Itto couldn't help but giggle at the sight of a security guard running towards him right before the doors shut.
He thinks himself quite lucky when the elevator goes straight up instead of stopping at any other floor to pick up other employees.
It feels like an eternity before the elevator doors open. Itto is once again stunned at the sight, but this time it was caused by the contrast between the bottom and top floor.
Instead of hearing people rushing about, each one more stressed than the last, he heard absolutely nothing. It was dead quiet up here.
There seems to only be a few offices here, so he quickly walks around, trying to find a door with a plaque that was engraved with his husband's name.
He finds it soon, but he also hears heavy footsteps barrelling towards his direction.
Oh no.
______________
Ayato was mad.
Actually, mad was an understatement. He was furious.
The meeting he just walked out of was unproductive, it felt like a huge waste of time. He could tell that they only wanted a collaboration with Ayato's company for personal gain.
Normally, he would be fine with that, but Ayato dislikes people who try to make you feel indebted to them. He owes no one in the industry anything.
Everything he has now is a result of his hard work, giving up nearly every piece of leisure and happiness that came into his life. Everything except Itto, of course, he knew he was in too deep the moment he met the loud, loving idiot.
Speaking of his loud, loving idiot, what do those texts entail? And what is with the footsteps that are moving towards his office at an alarming pace?
The door to Ayato's office slams open, the bluenette jolts a little before realizing it's Itto. He has no time to even process that information before Itto immediately runs towards him. A security guard stopped at the doorway not long after, panting as he pointed a finger at Itto who was hiding behind his chair.
Now, Ayato has watched Itto get picked on multiple times because he was an Oni, numerous occasions like that made him extremely protective of his husband.
"What's the meaning of this?" The guard frightens at the cold tone, immediately standing up straight to look his boss in the eyes.
"Reception called about a trespasser aiming for you, sir."
Ayato crosses his arms as he listens to his employee talk, before sighing and waving the guard off. "Thank you for your concern, but this is my husband, tell reception that he can visit me anytime he wants."
The guard's eyes goes wide at the word "husband", he bows before turning to leave, gently closing the door behind him. When it clicks shut, Ayato stands up and pulls on one of Itto's ears. It earns him an "oww" from the Oni.
"Couldn't you have at least tried explaining things a bit better?"
"I did! I even showed her our wedding photos and everything!" Itto's mouth forms a pout as he remembers how the receptionist accused him of editing himself with his own husband!
"Aish, come here." Ayato opens his arms and Itto accepts immediately, moving to set the bags down on his husband's desk before pulling him into a hug.
He still feels a tingly warmth in his chest whenever Ayato wraps his arms around his waist, it's simply a feeling he will never get tired of.
Ayato draws his attention towards the bags Itto brought, stealing a kiss from him before pulling away. "Oh! I made lunch!" Itto watches the smaller male's reaction carefully.
Ayato pulls the two lunch boxes out of the bag, setting them down before opening one up. His eyes widen slightly as a wonderful aroma hits the air. "It looks and smells delicious. Thank you, my love."
The bluenette uses one hand to hold the lunch box and he uses the other one to pull Itto into a side hug, using this opportunity to press a kiss to Itto's temple.
Itto is positively beaming at the praise.
The two sit down, Ayato in his usual seat while Itto takes the one across from him. They eat in peace, with Itto rambling away in between bites. Ayato thinks this might be the best way to spend his lunch break, he'd very much like for this to be a daily occurrence.
After they finish their meals, Ayato moves to clean. He packs everything up while Itto grabs his blanket, book and massive water bottle and moves to curl up on the couch nearby.
When Ayato returns, he asks for Itto to take the seat in front of him again, Itto obliges, of course. They sit and talk, while one of Ayato's hand is busy typing away on his laptop, the other is holding Itto's on top of his desk.
That was the first time Itto visited Ayato at work, the first followed by countless other times after that.

It was just any other day at Ayato's office, the bluenette was slaving away on his laptop, looking through reports. While his lover was lying down on the couch, talking on the phone with who Ayato assumed to be Shinobu.
When Itto says his goodbyes into the phone, he drops the thing onto the couch before standing up and making his way towards his darling husband.
He stands behind him, leaning over Ayato to catch a glimpse of that handsome face. He purposely moves fast, letting all of his long hair cascade around them and act as a curtain.
The action takes Ayato's eyes off the screen, the older male leans back in his seat and Itto takes his time leaning down to press a kiss on his lover's forehead. Ayato's hands move to cup both of Itto's cheeks, pulling him closer so they could kiss properly. Itto couldn't help but smile into the kiss, and in turn, Ayato smiles too.
The phrase "I love you" was gently whispered again and again, simply saying it once was never enough to express how they felt for each other.
Itto, oh, Itto
Ayato cherishes Thoma and Ayaka a lot, but even they could not tell when he was lying and purposely hiding things from them.
All it takes was one, two glances before Itto sees through the mask he donned. He has never felt vulnerable, and never wanted to, but Itto has a talent for cheering him up even without talking. Before Itto, Ayato had never known a hug could be so full of warmth and comfort.
Of course, Ayato doesn't mind telling Itto about each and every single little thing floating around in his head, it's probably halfway full of Itto, Itto, Itto anyways.
Speaking of Itto, said man dips down once more to place a lingering kiss on Ayato's lips. When he pulls away, Itto speaks first, "Aniki, it's almost lunch, I'll go get us some food!"
Ayato only pulls him down once more, whispering a "thank you" against his lips before kissing them. And Ayato swears he could die peacefully after hearing the giggle Itto lets out.
The bluenette isn't ashamed to admit he stared at his husband's ass, watched the way Itto's hips sway as he walks out, Ayato lets out a sigh, "hate to see em leave, love to watch em go."

Itto closes the door to Ayato's office, walking towards the elevator, as he waits, a lady holding a huge stack of papers rushes forward. Itto holds the elevator doors open for her, she mutters out a thanks.
"Hey, little miss, can I hold that for ya?"
She nods and thanks him as Itto takes a good chunk of the papers, leaving her with a small stack to carry. He tries to make small talk as best as he could, soon they reach her floor and Itto follows behind her.
After putting the papers down where she wants them, Itto realizes he has no idea how to get back to the elevator. Oh well, he ought to have some fun exploring.
He wanders mindlessly around the office, moving in the direction that he thinks he came from. He walks past another section of offices when he hears his favorite word, "Ayato". Two of Ayato's employees were talking about him.
"He's so hot, did you see the way he walked by today?"
"I know right! Ugh, I wish he'd notice me!"
"Do you think he's one for one night stands?"
"I think the man that comes to visit him all the time is his boyfriend tho."
"Nah, it can't be! Ayato can surely do better than that!"
Itto was stunned at that, but continues to listen in. They're not wrong, after all, Ayato could do much better. He could have any man or woman that he wants, even after all these years spent together, Itto still wonders what made Ayato want him.
"Well, boyfriend or not you better not let Boss hear you say that, he clearly likes him if that man is allowed to visit him so many times."
"Boss and I have been talking a lot recently! I think I'm getting close with him!"
"Yeah right, don't be delusional."
"It's true! We've been bonding!"
The other girl only rolls her eyes and they go back to bickering.
So that's how Ayato's workers feel about him, eh?
Itto is tempted to run back upstairs like a mad man to ask Ayato about it. There is nothing out there that Itto would keep from his husband, after all. He looks over to the girl that claimed she and Ayato were "bonding", before walking over to tap her on the shoulder.
"Hey, I dunno how to get back to Ayato's office, can you help me?"
The two ladies look stunned to see him, good. Itto doesn't anyone else to look at his Aniki but him. She nods after a bit of hesitating, Itto wants to show her that he will mean more to Ayato than she ever will. Although he doesn't want to admit it, he absolutely is the jealous type.
She leads him back to the elevator, and Itto has already made an excuse for her to follow him into the elevator and back to Ayato's office, but to his surprise, she just follows him in. He supposed she wants to get a glimpse of Ayato.
That's okay, she can look all she wants, she can never have him.
When they reach the top floor, she walks out first, making a beeline towards Ayato's office, knocking the door.
"Come in"
_____________
"Hey, Mr Kamisato." He dislikes the way she tries to seem casual with him. She's been texting him all day, even though he never responds with more than one, short text.
"What are you doing here?" Although Itto was walking up behind them, he still managed to see the way a seductive smile slowly stretched across her face.
"Oh, I just wanted to see y-"
"Ayato!" Itto rushes in with a big goofy smile, walking towards where said man was sitting.
"I thought you were out to get food?" Ayato teases, a playful smile appearing on his face.
"I got sidetracked, let's go get lunch together! I'll tell you all about it." Itto moves to grab Ayato's hand.
She clears her throat, and the two males turn to look at them. "Oh, thanks for taking me back, dude!" Itto chirps cheerily.
Itto finally remembers that he wanted to hold Ayato's hand, so he snatches it. He couldn't stop the corner of his lips from twitching into a smile as his husband intertwined their fingers.
In the corner of his eyes, Ayato sees her stunned look. She quickly excuses herself, a flustered expression present as she makes herself scarce. Oh, how embarrassing, Ayato thinks, watching the door close shut behind her.
"Are you hungry?" Ayato asks, he gently caresses the back of Itto's hand and knuckles with his thumb.
"I dunno, not really." Itto suddenly starts giggling, pulling Ayato up and out from behind his desk.
Itto wastes no time, walking towards the free space in his lover's office. He turns around to face him, pulling him close and draping his arms over Ayato's shoulders. His arms clasped together behind the bluenette's nape, fingers lightly pulling on some of the longer strands of his hair.
Ayato pulled him even closer, their bodies pressed together, so close that they barely had an inch of space between them. His arms snake around Itto's waist. Itto had a playful smile while Ayato had a fond one.
Itto takes the initiative to slowly sway them from left to right playfully, throughout all of this, they held each other's loving gaze. Looking at the other as if they were worth more than the largest blue diamond out there.
And to them, they were, they are, and they always will be.
Ayato is the first to break eye contact, leaning his forehead against Itto's and letting out a breathless laugh.
"I love you so much, more than you will ever know." He wants to say more, he always does, but nothing he says will ever properly describe his feelings for the Oni.
"Aww, bro don't be so sappy!" Itto's loud, signature laugh follows soon after.
Ayato only smiles wider at that.
Itto's laugh was cut off when he let out a loud squawk as he was suddenly pushed up against the nearest wall.
He tilts his head down to eye Ayato nervously. Well, as much as he could with his lover's hand around his neck. "Dude…?"
"Dude? Bro? I wonder who you could possibly be referring to because I know for a fact it isn't me." Ayato has a look that screams danger, the kind of look that made people speculate that he was a sadistic, sinister man.
"Ayato, I'm- ah!" Itto was cut off by his loud moan. Said man had brought a knee up between his legs, it pushed up against his crotch.
"Aniki…?"
"Good boy. Now say it back to me." Itto took a confused look at that demand, he didn't know what he was supposed to say. The reaction made Ayato tighten the hand around his neck.
"Aniki~ ah! Please tell me what you want." Itto starts whining and grinding down on Ayato's thigh, he only clicks his tongue
Itto lets out a gasp, temporarily halting his movements when Ayato tightens the hand around his neck even more. As Itto tried to squirm around to get out of his grasp, it only caused him to grind down on his thigh even more.
Ayato lets go after a while, if his lover continues to do that, then who knows if he'll let his lover out of the office without tons of bite marks, hickeys, and a sore ass, "Then, I'll give you a hint, I love you." Then, he shoots Itto an expectant look.
Itto beams, "I love you more!" His scatterbrain of a lover already forgot what they were doing just moments before, he releases a fond sigh, shaking his head slightly as he pulls Itto towards the doors to his office.
"Let's go get some lunch."
"Yeah! I'm starving!"
They leave the office with Itto's hand holding onto Ayato's arm, he was babbling away as they walked through Ayato's building to get to the exit.
At the main entrance of the building, Ayato presses a kiss to Itto's chin. To his glee, Itto stutters and stops talking to stare at him, eyes wide, mouth slightly agape, and a furious blush.
Ayato pulls him along, "Is something the matter, my dearest husband?"
They had been walking for some time now, but Itto has been uncharacteristically quiet. When Ayato finally turns to look at him, he notices that Itto is still staring at him, and still blushing.
Itto is so, so cute, how on earth did I get so lucky? Ayato internally fangirls over his own lover of almost 10 years.
"You better stop staring if you don't want me to kiss you again." Ayato teases.
Then, Itto grabs him by the shoulders, making them turn to look at each other in the middle of the busy sidewalk. Itto's blush was darkening as he continued to stare, hard.
It was Ayato's turn to be stunned, even he could feel the beginnings of a blush on his cheeks. He pulls Itto into a kiss before grabbing his hand and dragging him towards a cafe nearby.
They eat and return to the office. However, when they returned home that night, Itto was promptly shoved up against the door and then taken again and again on every surface their shared home had to offer.
Lewd moans and skin slapping had filled the house for the entirety of the night.
Itto could barely even walk the next morning, and he gave up trying to after a while. Ayato decided to take the day off to take care of his lover who would clearly suffer without his presence.
They mostly spent the day with Itto in Ayato's lap, The oni curled around him lazily while the bluenette tried to do some work from home.
Itto was straddling his lap, arms draped on his shoulders and leisurely placing kisses on wherever he could reach for practically the whole day. There was no other way he'd want to spend his spontaneous day off.
