Work Text:
Adam's lines are always the same: Schön, dass du da bist.
There are moments in between, but that's never as important as what comes next: wrapping his hand around Vincent's throat. Vincent is nonchalant about it during practice, but the look he gave Adam during their first performance had him shaking long past curtain call.
So one day he doesn't.
Vincent raises a precise eyebrow and Adam can't help but feel that Vincent already knew this would happen some day. Vincent throws the pack of pills so far offstage that it'll take hours for the stagehands to find them after tonight's performance. There's a gasp from the audience, but Adam can't bring himself to care, not while Vincent is sweetly ad-libbing his lines and putting immense energy into a supportive performance, complete with a reassuring pat on the back. Adam's going to get chewed out the minute he steps offstage, and yet, as he gives Vincent an affirmative reply, he can't help but feel that it's worth it. When the curtain falls and Vincent pulls him in for a kiss, it certainly confirms that feeling.
Tonight, his character can have a hopeful ending.
Tomorrow, Adam will ruin his life again.
