What is it About You?

Summary:

A poem written by Maranwe about Helbram

Notes:

Despite my intention of this being written by someone for someone specifically, I didn't mark it with any of the relationship categories cuz the work itself doesn't specify anything. None of the pronouns in it are gendered so it's perfectly easy to take it out of it's context. Without my exact intention this could be from and about anyone.

Work Text:

What is it about you? That drives me so crazy?

These are the sorts of things people ask.

I've asked it of others,

What they see that I can't.

They look at your tilted smirk,

And watch the abrasive way you show your love.

And then they see me swoon and fawn and they wonder,

What is it about you?

~*~

You're so vibrant.

You're free and raw and real.

You're coarse, but you're also so soft.

Like the coat of a wolf.

And like freedom's fur, there's so much more there then it seems.

I love it.

I love you.

I love watching you playfully torment your friends.

You laugh and tease and it's like the sun is inside you.

Beautiful golden summer light beams from you as you laugh.

And I can feel that's it's love.

Coarse, abrasive, but so deep and so much.

You experience the world in play.

Everything is a game.

Everything is laughter.

~*~

And that's what it is.

I want to play with you forever.
