Chapter Text

You stir awake to the feeling of a familiar warmth pressing you to the bed. Aemond commonly rolled on top of you in the mornings, his hands forcing under your back to embrace you as his head rests upon your bare collarbone. “Aemond.” You greet, gently detangling his soft hair with your fingers. “Good morning, my lover.” He purrs, voice hoarse. You smile at him, opening your eyes. Aemond leans in, kissing your lips sweetly. “You’re so beautiful.” He whispers, nose nudging yours. “You flatter me, my betrothed.” You respond, one hand playing with his light hair as the other massages his warm shoulder. Aemond smiles, kissing you again. “My beloved, you’re a blessing to me, I’ll always flatter you.” He responds, fingers moving up to gently caress your cheek.

“Oh, Aemond.” You smile, accepting his embrace. Rolling to his side, your husband pulls you to his chest. Your legs rub against his as you curl into his arms, fingertips gently running circles over his back; feeling over an old scar upon his body. “Tell me how you slept?” Aemond kisses your forehead, and you hum. “Perfect. I always sleep well next to you, my husband.” You smile widely, kissing his neck in return. “And I you, my beloved wife.” Aemond tips your head back a little, kissing your lips. You hum lazily, lifting your leg and draping it over his hips. “Not feeling awake?” He smiles, feeling you shake your head. “No. Your warmth is too pleasant to get up from.” You tell him, squeezing his torso to enforce him staying beside you. Aemond can’t help but laugh gently. “Alright, beloved. You’re welcome to stay here all day, if it’s what you want.” He mutters, gently rubbing your back. “Mhm… maybe I will.” You giggle, hands running in circles before moving to his chest, holding it there.

“My love… we would have to get up soon to attend breakfast.” Aemond reminds you. You whine softly. “But, Aemond- my lovely husband, you said perhaps I could stay here ‘all day’.” You respond, voice soft. “Hmm, perhaps in a perfect world yes, we could.” He smiles, kissing your forehead again. “Aemond…” you sigh, clearly not keen on getting out of bed. Aemond let’s out a hearty laugh. “Alright, alright, my love. We can spend the morning in bed… however you must eat. I’ll get you whatever you request from the kitchen.” Aemond purrs.

You reluctantly let him go, and Aemond slinks out of bed and dresses himself. He leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your lips before leaving. You sigh gently, rolling into the dip where your husband had lay. His warmth lingered, it was a comfort to you. You let your eyes close, relishing the fuzzy feeling inside you. Footsteps trail past the door from both directions as the world went on with its day, blissfully unaware you were still curled up in bed; one man being an exception.

Aemond eventually returns, tray in hand. He sees you lounging on his side of the bed with a soft smile on your lips. Slowly, he sets down the tray that held your breakfast and sits beside you, fingers running through your hair. “My love,” he coos softly; causing you to stir from your light sleep. “Aemond.” You mumble, leaning into his gentle touches. “I brought you breakfast like I promised.” Your husband smiles. You hum. “Give me a moment to wake up, my husband.” You exhale lazily, tangling your fingers through his.

Aemond sits beside you, thumb stroking your knuckles. He doesn’t mind sitting beside you. He observes you, how your face looked when relaxed- as if he hadn’t already completely mapped out your face when you slept, the moonlight on your skin as he stays awake into early morning. “Are you asleep again, my love?” Aemond asks teasingly. “No. Just enjoying your presence. I’ve missed you recently.” You reply, finally opening your eyes to meet his gaze. It saddens a little as he nods. “I know- I’m sorry.” He responds, squeezing your hand a little tighter. “It’s alright, my love. I know your job is hard.” You sit up, free arm snaking around his back as you rest your head upon his shoulder. Aemond continues to gently caress the skin upon the back of your hand with his thumb.

“Perhaps I could take some time off to spend with you. We could go somewhere- away from here, just for the day.” He suggests softly, leaning his head upon yours. “That would be nice.” You smile, hugging him a little tighter. Aemond nods. “It’s settled then. I’ll have a word with my mother about having a day away from my duties.” He mumbles, closing his eye as he savours your embrace. You smile a little wider, kissing his shoulder. “Eat your breakfast, my love; before it gets cold. I’ll seek out my mother.” Aemond slowly pulls from you. You hum, slightly saddened as he kisses you before leaving you alone again. Pushing the negative feelings away, you think about a whole day spent with your husband. You had missed him dearly, and the promise of an entire day with potentially no interruptions was lovely. Taking your tray from the beside table and setting it in your lap, you indulge your hunger as you daydream about Aemond and all the possibilities the two of you could dive into all in one day.
