The Lunch Series: A Casual Lunch Date

Summary:

A story in which Obito Uchiha spends his lunch time with a particular medical ninja. [ObiRin]

Notes:

I do not own Naruto.

In this story, Obito has both of his eyes. He is also a (newly elected) Hokage, and is (as well as Rin) ~ 24 years old.

Enjoy!!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Paperwork.

If there was one thing Obito Uchiha hated about being Hokage, it was the unnecessary amount of paperwork he had to do on a weekly basis. Part of him wanted to blast the darn documents off to some other dimension and not think about them ever again. But if he did, his advisor (and friend) would reprimand him all while bringing even more paperwork. Kakashi Hatake had no mercy when it came time to ensure that the Uchiha completed all paperwork.

Obito sighed while looking at the remaining stack of roughly sixty five-page documents he had to review and give his decision on. Half of them were due by the end of the day so actions could be taken swiftly the following day. But his brain couldn’t even get past page one of the first document in that stack because of a certain brown-haired beauty constantly on his mind.

A brown-haired beauty who had returned his kiss about a week ago, and every time since then. They had gone to dinner with Asuma and Kurenai that day seven days ago, a non-official double date in Obito’s opinion. The atmosphere was great. Asuma and Kurenai spoke about becoming serious and making their relationship known to the rest of their friend group. And as that couple spoke, Obito couldn’t help but allow his mind to think of the possibilities of being in a relationship with Rin. How would they announce it to their friends? His clan? He doubted that their friends would care, considering they knew his feelings for Rin. He could see his clan leaders questioning his interest in a female who was not of his clan, but he didn’t care about their opinions (and hasn’t since being a child).

After the dinner had been over, he walked Rin home. They spoke about the usual - life, work, and anything else that was interesting. He remembered Asuma previously mentioning how his relationship with Kurenai first started. She had simply kissed him out of the blue. Some alcohol had been involved of course. But that kiss was the green light he had needed to have the confidence to formally ask her out.

So as they had reached the door that led to her small apartment, Obito figured that it was either now or never. His dark onyx eyes watched carefully as Rin unlocked and then pushed the door wide open. And as she turned around, he subtly placed a hand on her lower back and he pulled her forward. Her eyes had widened a bit and he could see the blush across her cheeks. Her hands had laid flatly over his chest, but she didn’t push him away. With their faces just inches away, he looked at her brown eyes one more time before closing the gap and kissing her. His own heart beat nervously as she didn’t move at first. But then, her lips slowly moved against his as her hands shifted upward so her arms could loosely wrapped around his neck.

Obito smiled at the memory as he swiveled around his chair. There was a soft knock before the door opened, revealing one of his assistants.

“Hokage-sama, would you like me to procure lunch for you today?”

“Yes. Double the quantity and place them inside a basket. I will be taking my lunch outside,”

“Of course. This should be ready within the next forty minutes,” the assistant replied before taking his exit and closing the door.

Sitting up straight, Obito challenged himself to complete as many documents as possible while the food became prepared.

“Do not put too much pressure, or else you will overdue it and end up killing it,” Rin said as she examined her students’ progress as they tried to heal a fish.

The students, who were around twelve to thirteen years old, were on path to become the next generation’s highly-skilled medical ninjas. But before accomplishing such a great feat, they first had to pass all of Rin’s strict yet critical classes. She wasn’t Hard Ass Nohara for no reason. She was fond of the nickname her students had secretly given her, even though it didn’t mean making her class any easier. She knew that many years from now, they would thank her for her strict teachings.

“According to last year’s analysis, thirty-three percent of deaths could have been avoided if the medical ninjas on duty had the right skills,” she said while walking from table to table to inspect their work. She shook her head as one student accidentally caused his fish to explode.

“You want your comrades to trust you in the middle of a battlefield,” she continued while smiling at the students who were able to heal the fish successfully, “They are putting their lives in your hands. Trust is key between a soldier and the medical staff,”

The bell indicating that it was lunchtime rang, and the majority of the students sighed happily.

“For those of you who passed this assignment, place your fish inside the tank before heading out to lunch. For those who failed, you will have to bury your fish outside before taking your lunch. Being a medical ninja, especially in the middle of a war, may require you to do more than just heal a couple of limbs…”

The students, fully understanding her message, nodded and headed out of the classroom. But as they did, they noticed their Hokage leaning against a wall with his arms crossed in front of his chest. The students quickly surrounded him with smiles.

“Hokage-sama!”

“Hokage-sama, I was able to save my fish!”

“Hokage-sama, can you teach us some wood-style jutsu? We may want to be medical ninjas, but we also want to fight!”

“Hokage-sama, my grandmother would like to know if you’re single!?”

Obito laughed. “I can teach some jutsus once you have better chakra control… And in regards to your grandma’s question, tell her that I have a good friend named Kakashi who is one-hundred percent single… Now if you don’t mind, I need to speak with Rin,”

The students nodded and waved at their Kage as he walked inside the classroom. Rin looked at Obito with a large smile.

“Did you just offer Kakashi to Kyogi's grandma? You do know that she is in her seventies, and we’re not even twenty-five yet,”

Obito shrugged while gently grabbing her arm and pulling her closer to him, “I’m sure that closeted pervert wouldn’t mind a woman nearly three times his age… Now let’s get out of here and eat something. I’m hungry and haven’t stopped thinking about you,”

Rin’s eyes widened as her mind inadvertently thought about some scenarios which were too soon considering they've been going out for about a week. She blamed her womanly hormones for every single mature thought that crossed her mind. Before she could ask any questions, Obito used his Mangekyou abilities and within seconds had them standing on top of the Hokage Rock.

Rin felt him steady her as she swayed a bit before her mind and body finally felt like one. It wasn’t the first time Obito had used his abilities on them, but she knew that she would never be able to get used to being transported in such a manner.

She looked around and noticed a blanket lying on the ground with a large basket over it, the aroma making her stomach slightly growl. They sat on top of the picnic blanket and Rin watched curiously as he opened the basket and pulled out a box of rice balls. He handed her one and the two ate in silence at first.

The wind blew past them, and Rin’s shoulder-length hair swayed back and forth which caused a couple of strands to get into her mouth. She was about to pull the strand aside, but didn’t as Obito grabbed the strands and placed them behind her ear.

“Thanks,” she said while finishing her second rice ball.

“Your hair is getting longer,”

“I know. I’m thinking of letting it grow instead of cutting it,”

“The longer it is, the easier it is for me to pull you,” Obito said with a slight tug of her hair towards him, which caused her to giggle while leaning towards him.

“I didn’t know you were into hair pulling,” she teased while looking up at him.

Obito’s face reddened as he decided whether or not to answer that, yet. Even though they were more than friends, he didn’t want to scare her with some of the fantasies his mind had conjured throughout the last couple of years. And yes, it involved plenty of hair pulling. And her hair, of course.

Choosing not to answer, he leaned down and captured her lips in a fierce kiss. Rin sighed contently as she angled her head slightly, allowing the kiss to deepen. Obito thrusted his tongue into her mouth as they slowly laid down on the blanket. Her hands were over his vest as their lips fell into a sensual rhythm. His right hand grabbed the back of her left knee and gently raised her leg over his body, earning a slight moan from her. He leaned forward while carefully pressing her back against the blanket, his body now partly covering hers. Rin moved her hands upwards until her fingers made contact with his soft yet spiked hair. She ran her fingers through his hair as his hand snuck into her shirt and rested on her side.

They pulled back and each took a deep breath, smiling as they knew that if they didn’t stop, things would go further faster than anticipated. Obito pulled back, sitting with his leg bent forward and arm resting on his knee. Rin sat up and fixed her shirt and hair, ignoring the sensual feeling pooling below her stomach.

“Ready to go back?” Obito asked while standing up.

“Yeah,” Rin replied, taking his hand as he helped her stand up. Despite her face still being flushed, she looked up at him and asked, “Should we…meet again…tonight?”

“Yeah,” Obito replied a bit too quickly. “I’ll come over to your place…”

“Perfect. I’ll be…waiting… You can also bring some spare clothes…if you want,”

“I think that’ll be a good idea,”

“...And an extra toothbrush…”

“Toothpaste?”

“I already have plenty at home…”

“Oh…haha…yes that’s right… Anything…else…?”

“N-No… I think that should be good for now…”

“OK…Let me take you back to your classroom then,”

“Thanks,”

Activating his Mangekyou, he grabbed her hand and transported them to her classroom. She leaned against his body and closed her eyes, controlling that nauseous feeling of moving from one location to another. Once she felt her feet firmly on the floor, she opened her eyes and looked up at him.

“Thanks,” she said, “I’ll see you tonight?”

Obito nodded, his face twice as flushed as before as her students gaped at them from within their seats. He gave them all a wave and quickly disappeared. Rin, confused at his abrupt exit, turned around and nearly flinched as her male students gaped while her female students gave her a mischievous smirk. Clearing her throat, she walked over to her desk and sat down.

“Open your books and turn to chapter three, dissection. Next week, we will be dissecting a couple of animals. It is critical you get used to-”

“...Um…Miss Nohara?” a young female genin, who sat on the first row, whispered.

“Yes?”

The female genin pointed towards her own shoulder and whispered ‘bra’. Confused, Rin looked at her shoulder and mentally cursed upon noticing her pink bra strap peeking from underneath her t-shirt.

“Thanks,” she whispered to her student while casually adjusting her shirt. She would need to tell Obito to be more careful next time…

Notes:

Thank you for reading and hopefully you enjoyed this one-shot. I had this idea for a while, but with different scenarios playing out. Some lunch breaks will have more mature content than others (if you know what I mean ;) ). Therefore, I decided to start a series!

Anyway, let me know what you think of this short-fic by leaving a comment below. Until next time!!!
