Work Text:

Henry Mills POV
After the curse had ended nearly two and half years ago I moved back to Storybrooke with my wife Ella and my daughter Lucy. Things had been good in the beginning between me and Ella, but we got older after the years in the curse and it changed things. We told our daughter that we were thinking of separating, but she did not take the news well. She tried to get my mom, Regina to convince us to stay together. This held us together for a short while but after years of trying we knew our marriage wasn’t going to last.

Anastasia Tremaine POV
My sister, Ella invited me and my other sister, Drizella over for today for some big announcement. I don’t think any announcement really needs to be held at such a far place away from our home, but Drizella insisted we go so we are going.

When we get there I see the Charmings as well as Henry’s moms and now I’m really confused, because usually we meet at Granny’s or the park, not at their home.
Once Henry and Ella make sure everyone is accounted for they take a deep breath and announce, “We are getting a separation,”

I’m super shocked because I had no idea they were having a hard time in their marriage. I’ve always assumed everyone who looks happy is happy. I take in the faces of the room around me Henry and Ella are both looking down at the ground, Regina looks resigned as if she knew what was happening. Emma looks shocked while the Charmings look like they’re about to cry. And Drizella looks like...

Drizella POV
“We are getting a separation,” I hear from Ella and Henry and I don’t know what I’m supposed to feel.

During the curse there was always some chemistry between me and Henry and if that played into it, it makes me feel guilty that I played a part in my sister’s divorce. I also feel bad for my sister because she thought that this would be her happy ending, but a tiny part of me is also a little glad because I’ve liked Henry since the curse.

Anastasia POV
And Drizella looks like a whole bag of mixed emotions. It's obvious she’s had a crush on him for a long time. When I see that look on her face I know that she is never going to go for it and I’m totally going to set them up. After a while of talking with the people and some music we all start heading home.

“So Henry, huh?” I say to try and get my sister to admit she likes him.

“What are you talking about, Ana?” she says pretending like she has no clue.

“You totally have a crush on him,” I say with a smirk.

“You’re absolutely ridiculous and he just got divorced.”

I just scoff and roll my eyes. I'm definitely not being ridiculous, there has always been a certain amount of chemistry between them and I’m totally going to get them together when the time is right.

A few months later...

Anastasia POV
I have decided now is time to enact my plan to get Drizella and Henry together. Especially since I’ve heard of a business by someone named Mulan who helps people get their happy endings together before it’s too late. So I’m planning on calling her now that my sister is out of the house. I think I heard something about a secret code though, so I’m also going to use that to be super secure.

“Hello? I’m looking to buy some flowers,” I say in code.

“Um... I don’t sell flowers,” Mulan responds in a confused tone.

“No the code,” I reply thinking she forgot.

“I don’t have a code?” Mulan says even more confused.

“Do you help people get together for their happy endings?” I question thinking I have the wrong number.

“Oh. Yes, that’s me, but I don’t have a code,” Mulan states.

“But a person with bright red and a blue dress told me you did,” I said, feeling utterly ridiculous.

“Merida,” she says and I can hear the eye roll in her voice, “Ignore her, so I can meet you at the hill in Storybrooke at dawn tomorrow to go over happy ending business if that works for you?”

“That works,” I said now feeling better that I got somewhere with finding a happy ending for my sister.

The next day...

Friday 6:15 p.m.

Henry and Drizella are sitting at a restaurant wearing fancy clothes, talking, and laughing together.

Rewind-Dawn

Mulan POV
I am so excited that I finally have some people to get together before it’s too late again. When I lost Aurora I made a promise to myself to help everyone be with their true love before they get their heart broken like I did. Merida thinks it’s silly but it makes me smile when I have a part in helping people find their true happy endings.

When the girl called me the other day I literally jumped with joy. Now I’m up an hour early, waiting for the girl because I couldn’t sleep with all this excitement brewing inside of me.

“I thought you weren’t meeting until dawn?” a voice I later recognize as Merida scares me out of my thoughts.

“We are, I was just so excited I couldn’t sleep,” I explained.

“It is way too early to be up,”

“Then how come you’re up?” I try to reason with her.

“I was checking my perimeters for bears,” she explains exasperatedly. “But I can keep you company for a while. We talk until about ten minutes before dawn and then she has to go attend to her royal duties. I wait for about five minutes when the girl shows up.

Anastasia POV
I wake up super early thankful that my sister sleeps forever so I don’t have to try and come up with an excuse as to where I’m going. I put on my clothes and pull on my shoes double checking I’m going to the right place and setting out.

I get there about five minutes early and I see this Mulan person is already there. I feel bad that she had to wait for me, but she has a smile on her face so maybe she isn’t too bored or mad.

“Hi, I’m Anastasia, but most people call me Ana,” I say.

“Mulan,” she responds, “it’s a pleasure to meet you,'' she says, holding her hand out for a handshake. I shake her hand surprised by how strong her handshake is.
“So who are the people you’re looking to pair?” she questions me.

“Henry Mills and Drizella Tremaine,” I say, waiting for her to judge my last name like everyone does.

“Henry Mills? Isn’t he married to a girl named Ella?” She asks.

I look at her surprised, “They split up a while ago!” I figured that if she didn’t know that she must not get out much.

“Really?” she asked surprised, “Man I really should get out more.” she says, confirming my suspicions.

“Anyway,” she says, moving on,” Are you close with either of them?”

“Drizella is my sister,” I respond kind of in disbelief that she didn’t know this, “Anyway why do you want to know?”

“We are going to invite them to have dinner with us at a restaurant, but really it will be the two of them together.” She explained her plan to me and now I was really excited.

“So I’ll invite Drizella and you’ll invite Henry?” I asked her and then her face screwed up.

“No, I’m not close to Henry, he won’t go if I invite him. We need someone close to him, any suggestions?” she said with a puzzled look on her face.

“His mom, Regina, but I’m not sure I can get her to come.” I said somberly.

“I know how to get her if you tell me her number,” Mulan suggested.

“O.K.?” I questioned her.

Regina POV
I swear I heard my phone ringing but when I glanced at the clock and saw how early it was I thought I was just imagining it. Then it continued to ring and I got even more annoyed as now I knew it was real and somebody was calling me this early in the morning. I begrudgingly got out of bed and went to answer it.

“Hello?”

“Meet me at the Storybrooke Hill, your son’s life depends on it,” the person on the other end said and abruptly hung up. Now I was worried that my son was in danger from some lunatics and I did a quick wardrobe change not even realizing I changed into Evil Queen clothes and then poofed to the Storybrooke Hill. I looked around for my son or anyone else and I finally landed on two figures. I stomped up to them ready to do whatever it takes to get my son back, but stopped when I saw it was Mulan and Ana. I rolled my eyes figuring it was a prank and started to poof out when I felt something on my arm. A magic cuff.
They put the magic cuff on my arm and now I was starting to wonder if it was really a prank or if they actually kidnapped my son.

“Where is Henry,” I yelled in my Queen voice hoping to scare them, but alas it did not work.

Mulan responded, “He’s not here.”

“Well, then where is he?” I roared.

“I don’t know, probably at home,” Mulan said.

“Then why did you tell me my son’s life depended on me coming here?” I yelled at her.

“Oh. That,” she said, “We need you to invite him out for dinner at 6.”

“What, Why?” I replied thinking they couldn’t have just gotten me up for this ridiculousness.

“We’re setting him up,” Ana said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“With who?” I said with gritted teeth remembering who Ana’s sister is.

“Drizella,” they replied at the same time.

“No way,” I responded, “She almost killed him.”

“C’mon Regina, they might get along,” Mulan pleaded with, “Don’t you want your son to have his happy ending?”

I couldn’t really argue with that logic seeing as I fought so hard to get my happy ending. I knew they were right, so I replied, “Fine. I’ll help but only this once,” now they both looked really giddy, “now take this cuff off me.” Ana rolled her eyes and removed the cuff and I went back home to try and get some more sleep.

I decided to call Henry at noon to invite him to dinner and agreed even though we did argue about going to a fancy place instead of Granny’s and it being just the two of us.

Anastasia POV
When I got back Drizzy was still asleep, so I didn’t have to worry about sneaking back in and I figured I could ask her during lunch. When I asked she first questioned why we were going to a fancy place, but I eventually got her to agree with me.

Alternating Drizella Henry POV
My mom decided that instead of going to Granny’s we should go to a fancy, expensive restaurant. She acted weird the whole time.

I don’t know why my sister decided that we should go to a fancy restaurant, but who am I to question the whims of a fourteen year old.

I was a little late but it was just my mom so I knew she wouldn’t mind. When I got seated I noticed my mom wasn’t here yet which was weird, since she is usually on time to everything she was actually invited to.

I was a little late and kinda confused as to why Ana didn’t come with me seeing as how we lived in the same house, but dismissed it as Ana being Ana. I was brought to my table where I saw Henry Mills?

As I sat waiting for my mom to show up I felt the presence of someone I looked up expecting my mom, but instead I saw Drizella?

I was about to say that the Waiter must have gotten me mixed up, but the waiter just shook his head at me and I realized, Ana, I was going to kill her when I got back.

I was confused as to why Drizella was here, but in my mind I was also a little happy.

I looked around and then I saw her, Ana, my little sister spying on us. I knew Henry wouldn’t want me here, so I was about to go when something stopped me.

I saw Drizella about to leave, but I wanted her to stay and before I even knew it I opened my mouth and said, “Why don’t you stay, I thought my mom was joining me, but she appears to be a no show.” When she just freezes, I panic thinking she doesn't want to but then, “Sure, I’ll stay, it appears as if my sister didn’t come either.”

Friday 6:15 p.m.

In the booth next to them Mulan, Anastasia, and Regina fist bump.
