Taehyung puts his phone in his pocket to readjust his hold on the umbrella to shield him from the rain, and the bags he’s holding full of snacks for him and Jungkook to feast on when Jungkook comes home.

Taehyung’s job as a writer hasn’t been going well lately, and his editor pushing for deadlines isn’t helping him at all. With Taehyung being stuck indoors for several days now, trying to force something, anything, out of his mind but failing anyway because he’s so uninspired, he decided to take a stroll outside and buy his favorite snacks to fight the stress building up inside of him. It would be nice to spend some time with Jungkook too, and they can bond while eating the snacks Taehyung bought and maybe while watching Jungkook’s favorite movies! Jungkook has also been very busy lately, so this is the perfect timing for them to bond. Who knows? Taehyung might gain inspiration from it too.

Their shared apartment is only a few blocks away now. Taehyung takes his time, though, wanting to relieve his stress by looking at the environment around him, even though this place is something he has memorized already. It’s raining quite a bit, so his feet are kind of soaked at this point, but he doesn’t really care about that. He rarely goes out, so he’ll make his time worthwhile.

On the other side of the road, he sees a couple holding hands under one umbrella, one of them being human while the other seems to be a fox hybrid. Taehyung smiled at them, and in return, they waved and smiled back. It’s uncommon for a human and a hybrid to be in a romantic relationship, primarily because most humans don’t see hybrids as equals. So Taehyung being decent enough to smile at them probably means a lot to them already. Taehyung loves smiling at people. It doesn’t take much effort, yet it makes many people happy. That’s not something Taehyung would be selfish at.

Taehyung continues walking, now seeing an alleyway where shady people are usually lounging, so he quickens his pace, wanting to get past it as soon as possible to avoid any potential altercation (which would make Jungkook upset, definitely, and Taehyung is avoiding that) when a small mewling sound stops him right on his tracks. That doesn’t sound like the shady people known in town. That sounds very much like a cat (though it would be pretty funny if one of those thugs were mewling like that).

And Taehyung, being the pet lover that he is, completely discards the thought of going home as soon as possible, as he had promised Jungkook, and decides to walk back to the alleyway to see the source of the sound. He walks into the dark alley with no sliver of fear because he knows a cute kitten is waiting for him there!

And Taehyung was right.

About some of his expectations, at least.

There was indeed a cute kitten there, but not just any kitten - a small cat hybrid curled up next to a few empty boxes, completely soaked because of the rain and looking so scared that Taehyung felt his heart break instantly at the sight. The hybrid has a few scratches on his arms and face, and the alley isn’t doing much to save him from the rain. It was probably his best option, though, since with how he looks right now, Taehyung can safely assume that he doesn’t have a home (or maybe he’s just far from it for some reason - Taehyung doesn’t know - the worn-out collar around his neck with the name Yoongi engraved on it makes Taehyung think a lot, though).

“Hello, what are you doing out here?” Taehyung asks, trying to make his voice as soft as possible to not scare the cat hybrid - Yoongi.

But Yoongi hisses at him anyway, baring his small teeth at Taehyung as if it should threaten him, but the hybrid is way too cute to be intimidating. But Taehyung understands his fear. Taehyung is nothing but a stranger to him. He could be a bad person! Yoongi’s actions are very reasonable.

“I won’t hurt you,” Taehyung speaks softly, taking careful steps towards Yoongi to ensure his umbrella covers the hybrid too. Yoongi looks up at him and his umbrella, probably realizing that Taehyung is shielding him from the rain. This lessens the tension in Yoongi’s form, but he’s not entirely relaxed yet.

“Have you eaten yet? Wait, let me see.” Taehyung crouches on the ground in front of Yoongi just to rummage through his bag of snacks, eyes lighting up when he spots some bread amidst all the unhealthy snacks he bought. He pulls it out of the bag and offers it to Yoongi.

Yoongi looks at him untrustingly, his hand twitching as if he’s tempted to take what Taehyung is offering, but deciding against it, probably in fear of his safety. Right. There is no reason for Yoongi to believe that Taehyung wouldn’t poison him. Taehyung understands.

“It’s safe, I promise,” Taehyung softly explains, taking a small portion of the bread and eating it in front of Yoongi. He swallows and smiles at the hybrid. “See? I ate it. You can eat it too.”

Yoongi gulps and shakily lifts his frail hand to finally take the bread from Taehyung before slowly bringing it to his lips and taking a small bite, purring when he gets a taste. It must’ve been a while since he tasted fresh food. Taehyung feels bad for him.

Taehyung watches Yoongi nibbling on the bread, his tail swishing slowly behind him as he continues to eat in front of Taehyung.

“I’m Taehyung, by the way. What’s your name?” Taehyung asks for the sake of conversation even though he knows what it is already because of his collar. He just wants to hear Yoongi speak, and this question is probably easy enough for Yoongi to answer.

Yoongi peers at him, holding onto the bread tightly as if Taehyung will try to take it from him even though he’s the one who gave it. “Yoongi,” he briefly answers, his voice sounding much deeper than Taehyung anticipated. That voice sure is deep and rough, considering that the cat hybrid has quite a petite figure, matched with adorable and soft features.

“It’s nice to meet you, Yoongi. Do you have a home to go back to tonight? Do you want me to walk you there so we can share the umbrella?”

Yoongi’s expression drops instantly upon hearing Taehyung’s question, his ears twitching on the top of his head, and his tail which was previously swaying behind him, is now drooping to the ground and moving slowly and anxiously. He then shakes his head, looking embarrassed and ashamed of his answer.

Taehyung’s heart breaks at the sight. Yoongi looks so sad, and it doesn’t suit him. Yoongi looks so adorable with contentment and satisfaction on his face - not this. He almost regrets asking about something so sensitive, but he knows it’s vital information. He wouldn’t know what to do if he had no idea what Yoongi’s situation was.

“How long have you been… staying outside?” Taehyung gently asks, urging Yoongi to continue even though it’s hard. Taehyung has to know. He can’t just leave Yoongi alone here without doing anything to help him.

“A few weeks,” Yoongi mutters, returning to nibbling on the bread.

“You were just outside? No one took you in?”

Yoongi shakes his head, frowning and looking agitated. “Everyone has been really, really mean. Other hybrids are so territorial, and they don’t want me near them, and humans are just… I don’t like humans. They’re horrible.”

Taehyung should probably feel offended, being a human himself, but he knows that Yoongi is speaking out of experience, and Taehyung has no right to invalidate his feelings. Yoongi must have had bad encounters with humans (not just his previous owner, who seemed to have abandoned him). That must be why he was so defensive when Taehyung approached him earlier.

“You can’t stay here forever,” Taehyung explains gently, not wanting to seem demanding. “It’s raining, and it’s cold. You’ll get sick.”

“I don’t have anywhere to go,” Yoongi responds, subconsciously pouting as he looks down at the piece of bread he still hasn’t finished and looking so sad that Taehyung feels his heart break again.

“You can come with me. I promise I will never do anything to hurt you. Not that you have to stay with me! It can be just for the night if you want to. My boyfriend and I have a spare room you can occupy for as long as you want to. He’s really nice - Jungkookie. That’s my boyfriend. I’m sure he’d be very happy to let you stay for a while. Oh! And I have a friend who’s a lawyer! And a doctor! If you feel uncomfortable with Jungkookie and me, I can talk to my lawyer friend and get him to help you get into a shelter for hybrids if you want to.” Yoongi looks quite overwhelmed by the sudden information Taehyung is spewing at him.

“But we can talk about that some other time,” Taehyung says upon realizing that Yoongi is in no state to make big decisions right now. He probably feels unwell from not having enough food to eat and perhaps even not having decent sleep for weeks. Taehyung is pretty sure sleeping on the ground outside is not very comfortable. “If it’s okay with you, you can come with me and spend the night in the apartment I share with Jungkook. I promise I don’t have bad intentions. I really just want to help.”

Yoongi peers at him cautiously, seemingly assessing whether or not he’s being honest. With a gulp and a small sniffle (probably because of being drenched in the rain), he finally nods. He doesn’t have a lot of options anyway. It’s either he stays here and waits anxiously for some mean hybrids or humans to scare him away if this turns out to be their property, or he takes Taehyung’s offer and have a chance to have a decent sleep in a proper place for the first time in weeks. Sure, there is always a possibility that Taehyung is a bad person too, who has evil plans towards Yoongi, but Yoongi has to try. If he stays here, someone will inevitably chase him away at some point, but with Taehyung, there is a chance that he could be a genuinely nice person, no matter how small it is. Yoongi has to take the opportunity.

“Okay, thank you for trusting me, Yoongi. Come on, let’s go,” Taehyung says, offering him a huge grin and standing up, urging Yoongi to do the same.

Yoongi shakily gets up on his feet, feeling a bit light-headed because of the hunger that’s not really fully sated by the bread (which he still hasn’t finished anyway), and starts walking right next to Taehyung, following his lead to go to his apartment he had offered for Yoongi to stay in.

Taehyung feels a bit nervous about bringing the cat hybrid home without telling Jungkook, but he knows he made the right decision. Sure, he has a lot of explaining to do for Jungkook, but knowing that he managed to help Yoongi, Taehyung is sure that it will be worth it anyway.

my baby koo 🐰💖: fine let him stay tonight but i have to meet him first then i will decide!

taetae the loml 💖: KOOKIE I LOVE YOU MUAH

my baby koo 🐰💖: i love you too 😩

Taehyung snickers as he sits on the bed, waiting for Yoongi to finish washing up so he can give him clothes to wear. He knew Jungkook would agree. Jungkook can never say no to Taehyung, and Taehyung can’t say no to him as well. That’s just the nature of their relationship. So Taehyung was absolutely sure that Jungkook would agree to take Yoongi in anyway, even if Taehyung only asked him when he really didn’t have a choice since Yoongi was here already. It’s not like Jungkook will kick him out even if Taehyung didn’t ask for permission. Yoongi is too cute! Jungkook will surely love him!

The bathroom door creaks open, and Yoongi peeks at the gap, looking at Taehyung with the cutest and most innocent look on his face.

“Oh, here. I got you some clothes to wear. It’s mine, so it might be a little big for you. Jungkookie’s clothes are even bigger, so please use this for now. I’ll buy you more clothes in your size soon! If you want to!”

Yoongi nods, his ears twitching happily as he smiles at Taehyung. Taehyung grins back at him. Yoongi seems to be opening up to him already. He probably feels reassured now since Taehyung hasn’t done anything terrible to him the whole time they’ve spent together so far.

“Thank you,” Yoongi softly says as he takes the clothes Taehyung is offering before closing the door gently once again so he can have some privacy while changing.

When he does step out of the bathroom, Taehyung has to hold back a scream as he sees how much smaller Yoongi looks in his clothes. With him being a lot cleaner than before, too, he looks even more adorable! There are still some small wounds all over his body, but god, he looks absolutely beautiful. (Taehyung reminds himself to get those wounds checked soon.)

“You can stay here for the night. Or for days. Or weeks. As long as you want to! We can talk about the hybrid shelter some other time. You should get some rest for now,” Taehyung eagerly says, springing up to his feet to let Yoongi have the bed Taehyung prepared for him.

Yoongi carefully steps towards the bed, gently taking a set at the edge and lifting his hand to caress the soft blanket, looking at it with fascination. He smiles. “Thank you so much for your generosity. It really - it means a lot to me. Thank you.”

Taehyung nods, offering Yoongi a soft smile to help reassure him. “I wanted to do it. You don’t need to thank me. You must be exhausted, so I’ll let you rest now. I’ll introduce you to Jungkook tomorrow. Goodnight, Yoongi.”

Yoongi smiles back at him. “Goodnight, Taehyung-ssi.”

And with that, Taehyung forces himself to leave the room even though he still wants to spend time with Yoongi. They can do that tomorrow. Yoongi needs his rest right now.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

Jungkook arrives home an hour before midnight, seemingly overworking again even though Taehyung told him not to. He drops his bag tiredly on the floor before making his way to where Taehyung is sitting on the couch and munching on the snacks he bought earlier while watching the television in low volume to not risk waking Yoongi up.

“Sorry, I had to finish some important stuff,” Jungkook briefly explains, dropping down on the couch next to Taehyung and pulling him in for a kiss.

“It’s okay, babe. You should get some rest, though. It’s been a long day.” Taehyung understands. He really does. Sometimes, he gets too immersed in writing as well, so much so that he even tends to forget to eat and drink for hours. Thankfully, Jungkook is there to remind him to take care of himself.

“I will later. I want to see the hybrid you were talking about, though. Is he here?”

Taehyung’s face lights up instantly at the mention of the hybrid. He practically throws his snacks on the couch and abruptly stands up, pulling Jungkook to his feet. “He’s in the guest room! He’s probably asleep, but you can come and see him! Come on!” he whisper-yells, excitedly dragging Jungkook toward the guest room, and Jungkook laughs fondly, following Taehyung’s lead.

They make their way to the guest room, and Taehyung very gently pushes the door open, shushing Jungkook to remind him to be quiet as he slowly pulls Jungkook in.

Taehyung sees how Jungkook’s eyes widen upon seeing Yoongi sleeping on the bed. The blanket covers him up to the chin and only reveals his face. He looks so pretty with his face completely relaxed and his fluffy ears resting on his head. Taehyung wants to coo at the sight. He’s sure Jungkook wants to do it too.

“You weren’t lying. He does look really small and… cute.”

Taehyung giggles. “Wait until you see him wearing my clothes. He looks even smaller. You’re gonna love him, Kookie. He speaks so softly too, and he’s so polite! I haven’t officially asked him if he wants to stay with us permanently, but we can take it slow. I was certain you’d like him too, but I wanted to be sure first so we can take our time getting to know him better.”

Jungkook smiles, leaning forward to press a kiss on Taehyung’s cheek. “I think I like him already. I trust your judgment too.”

Taehyung knew that. “Let’s wait a bit longer. We should make him feel comfortable with us first. And I think… he experienced horrible things. He might be a bit scared and defensive at first, but be patient with him, okay? I promise he’s nice. He seems really sweet.”

Jungkook nods, not doubting Taehyung’s words at all. Taehyung has always been a good judge of character. If Taehyung thinks Yoongi is a good person, then Jungkook is sure he is. It doesn’t hurt that Yoongi is really cute too! It might be too early to say, but Jungkook thinks this is the hybrid they’re looking for. Taehyung is way too attached already. He wasn’t like this when they looked for hybrids in those shelters a few times. And if Taehyung wants Yoongi, then Jungkook wants him too. That’s just how it works.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

Yoongi wakes up to an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach. He is once again reminded that he hasn’t been eating well for weeks now, and the bread he had last night wasn’t enough to keep him full until morning.

But unlike the past few weeks, Yoongi doesn’t have to anxiously walk around the town and search alleyways for food while trying to stay out of other hybrids' and humans’ way. With Taehyung allowing him to stay here for the night, maybe, just maybe, he’ll let Yoongi eat something too. Even just a little bit! Yoongi isn’t too demanding!

He gets up and makes the bed, ensuring it’s neat and that the pillows are perfectly arranged so Taehyung wouldn’t think he’s irresponsible. He waddles his way out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen, where a delicious scent is coming from.

Peeking into the doorway, Yoongi sees another man (not Taehyung) humming as he moves around the kitchen with practiced ease. He’s cooking something, and Yoongi doesn’t know what it is, but it’s making him salivate. He’s really, really hungry, but he can’t just ask a stranger to give him food!

“Hungry?” a voice from behind startles Yoongi, making him jump up from his hiding spot and turn around to face the source of the sound. It’s Taehyung, grinning at him and looking amused.

Yoongi shyly nods. There’s no use in denying the fact that he’s hungry. Yoongi would probably enjoy eating anything right now. He’s not picky!

“Ah, okay, come on. Jungkookie is preparing the food. Come and say hi to him!” Taehyung exclaims, taking Yoongi’s hand and pulling him inside the kitchen where the stranger (Jungkook?) is still cooking. “Kookie! Look who’s here!”

The man, Jungkook, turns around, his wide doe eyes meeting Yoongi’s and sparkling in recognition. “Hello, Yoongi. I’m Jungkook. It’s nice to meet you. Do you like eating fish? I’m cooking some for you right now.”

Yoongi nods excitedly. “I do!” he exclaims, blushing when he realizes how loud he is. Taehyung and Jungkook chuckle fondly. “And uhm, it’s nice to meet you too, Jungkook…ssi.”

“Oh, by the way, how old are you, Yoongi?” Taehyung butts in as he ushers Yoongi to take a seat before also taking the seat next to him.

Yoongi seems to be thinking for a while, pursing his lips adorably and looking up thoughtfully. “Twenty-three,” he replies.

Taehyung gasps, looking at Jungkook with wide eyes. “Doesn’t he look younger?!”

Jungkook nods in agreement, turning off the stove and moving the dishes to the table. “I knew we were both older than you, but you looked so… small, so I kind of just assumed you were twenty or something.”

“Oh, uhm, cat hybrids aren’t usually… tall.”

“Yeah, I figured. We know someone who’s a cat hybrid too, but he’s definitely more… feisty compared to you. You just seem so soft and innocent, so we assumed you would be younger. Not that it matters! You can still call us ‘Hyung’!”

Yoongi looks up at both of them with wide eyes and a slightly gaping mouth. “I can call you… that? Isn’t that disrespectful? Wouldn’t I get punished?”

“Of course not!” Taehyung exclaims, looking at Yoongi with genuine worry and concern. Why does Yoongi think he’d get punished over something so trivial? Did he get punished for this before?

Jungkook reaches forward to hold Taehyung’s hand, perhaps to give him some sort of comfort and calm him down a bit to not make Yoongi anxious. “We’d love it if you could call us hyung since it would be more casual and familiar. It’s entirely up to you, though. Whatever will make you feel more comfortable.”

Yoongi seems lost in thought for a while, but soon enough, he nods and smiles at the two of them. “Okay, I will do that. Thank you, Jungkook-Hyung.”

Taehyung sees how Jungkook practically swoons upon hearing that. Being the youngest in their group before Yoongi came, Jungkook never really had someone to call him hyung, so this is probably life-changing for him. Even more so since it’s Yoongi saying that, and he looks so cute calling Jungkook hyung!

“What about me?!” Taehyung exclaims, pouting at Yoongi and effectively making Yoongi laugh.

“Okay, Taehyung-Hyung,” Yoongi says with a giggle. It’s nice that he finds this amusing and that he’s not as scared and defensive as he was last night.

Taehyung beams at him, immensely enjoying hearing his name from Yoongi’s lips. Everything Yoongi does is just making him feel so immeasurably happy, and he can tell that Jungkook is feeling just the same.

“Okay, let’s go and eat now. I also scheduled a hospital appointment with Jin-Hyung, so we have to prepare to meet him after this.”

“Hospital?” Yoongi freezes, dropping his utensils on the plate and looking at Jungkook in fear. “W-what are you going to do to me?”

“It’s nothing scary!” Jungkook says defensively. He didn’t think it would scare Yoongi. “Just a general check-up, I promise. We just want to make sure you’re not sick, and we also need to get your wounds checked. I promise we will never hurt you. Jin-Hyung wouldn’t hurt you, either. He’s an excellent doctor, and he’s really nice. He’s worked with many hybrids in the past, so he knows what he’s doing, okay? Don’t be scared.”

Yoongi nods adorably, the fear on his face easing a bit. “Will you, uhm, will you stay with me?”

It warms Taehyung’s heart to hear that question because it’s evident by now that he trusts them. He seemed scared about going to the hospital, but he didn’t argue with them. Instead, he just wants Taehyung and Jungkook to be there with him. It feels nice to have Yoongi’s trust.

“Of course, Yoongi,” Jungkook answers, smiling fondly at Yoongi and gently caressing his hand. “We’ll stay with you. We’ll be there. Don’t be scared.”

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

Seokjin turns out to be a lot kinder than Yoongi had expected. Especially for a doctor who’s a human!

When Yoongi’s previous master used to take him to hospitals, Yoongi never liked it. His previous master was always so eager for Yoongi to go into heat, so when years passed after Yoongi became an adult and there were no signs of his heat approaching, his master thought something was wrong. So he took Yoongi to see many different doctors to find out what was wrong with him and why he wasn’t having a heat even though he was way past maturity already. The doctors always just said that Yoongi probably wasn’t ready for it physically and mentally.

Still, his master never took that as an answer. He still tried to find more and more doctors to find someone to ‘fix’ Yoongi. He was even making Yoongi take pills that Yoongi doesn’t remember being prescribed by any of the doctors, but Yoongi took them anyway, not really having a choice because he wants to be good for his master. But still, nothing happened, and at some point, his master grew tired of trying. So he kicked Yoongi out to find another hybrid who isn’t ‘defective.’

Seokjin is really nice. He doesn’t make Yoongi feel uncomfortable like those previous doctors did. Yoongi had to take off some of his clothes at some point, and he was a bit scared, but Taehyung and Jungkook were there to reassure him that nothing bad would happen, and with how nice they’ve been treating him so far, Yoongi didn’t find any reason to doubt them.

It turns out he had nothing to fear anyway because Seokjin just observed the scars on his body, always politely asking permission to touch him whenever he had to. Seokjin even gave him a cat plushy midway through the check-up to calm his nerves! Yoongi likes it a lot. Yoongi likes Seokjin a lot. He didn’t know some doctors weren’t scary. But of course, Seokjin seems to be Taehyung and Jungkook’s friend, so it makes sense that he’s a good person too.

Taehyung even held Yoongi’s hand when Seokjin was taking blood samples. It hurt a bit, but with Taehyung holding his hand, Jungkook whispering sweet words to reassure him, and the cat plushy still on his lap, Yoongi got through it just fine.

“He needs to eat more, and we just have to let his wounds naturally heal - I’ll give you some ointments for it, but thankfully, there’s nothing too bad. I’ll contact you when we get the blood test results as soon as possible. Aside from what I’ve mentioned, Yoongi’s fine. There’s no need to worry about him,” Seokjin explains. Yoongi hears Taehyung and Jungkook sigh in relief upon receiving the news. Yoongi is very happy to hear that as well.

“Thank you, Hyung. I know you’re a busy man. Thanks for making time for us,” Jungkook says, pulling Seokjin in for a hug as they were leaving.

Seokjin smiles, lighting up his handsome features even more. Yoongi is honestly so fascinated. “Just take care of him. Talk to Namjoon soon too. He can help.” Yoongi doesn’t know who Namjoon is, but he’s not nervous anymore because if this Namjoon is acquainted with these three, then he must be a good person too! “Now go and get something for Yoongi to eat because he did really well. Make sure you feed him a lot!”

Taehyung laughs, going in for a hug too. “We will, Hyung. Don’t worry.”

Before they left, Seokjin approached Yoongi and patted him gently on the head, and Yoongi had to hold back a purr because Seokjin’s hand felt so nice caressing his ears. “Take care of yourself, too, Yoongi-yah. Don’t get hurt again.”

Yoongi smiles and nods obediently. He’ll certainly do his best to follow Seokjin’s instructions.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

After going to the hospital, Taehyung and Jungkook took Yoongi to get ice cream. The cat hybrid happily eats his ice cream while seated in between Taehyung and Jungkook, with the cat plushy still seated on his lap. It seems like he won’t be abandoning the plushy anytime soon.

Whenever someone would enter and look at Yoongi weirdly, probably wondering why a hybrid was so carefree and not like a pet who ‘should be on a leash and eating on the floor,’ Taehyung and Jungkook would just glare at them in a very threatening way, effectively making them look away. Yoongi is having so much fun already. They won’t let anyone ruin it for him.

After getting ice cream, Taehyung and Jungkook took Yoongi shopping. It’s adorable to see him wearing their clothes (because he’s so tiny and cute, and the sight really makes them feel things), but he’d have to have his own clothes at some point, especially (and hopefully) if he’s staying with them for a long time.

Yoongi was initially hesitant, telling them they shouldn’t spend so much money on him. Still, they were very persistent, taking Yoongi to all the stores they frequent and making him try on many clothes they thought would fit him. And, of course, Yoongi, being as obedient as he is, does exactly what they told him to do. They ended up buying almost all the clothes he tried on because he looked too pretty in them, and it would simply be a crime to not give him those clothes.

“Isn’t this too much?” Yoongi asks at some point, realizing that both Jungkook and Taehyung are already carrying too many bags full of his new clothes.

“They all looked perfect on you,” was Jungkook’s only response, gently reaching up to pet Yoongi’s big and soft ears, making Yoongi subconsciously lean into the touch.

He smiles softly at the compliment, purring lowly and closing his eyes as Jungkook caresses his ears.

Taehyung feels his heart stop beating for a second. Yoongi purred. Yoongi just purred. He meets Jungkook’s eyes, and the man seems just as surprised.

And as if sensing the sudden tension, Yoongi’s eyes snap open, and he pulls away from the touch instantly, face burning bright red in embarrassment.

“It’s okay!” Taehyung exclaims before Yoongi can even say anything. He places a hand on Yoongi’s shoulder, rubbing it gently to calm him down. “That was cute. That was really cute. You can do anything you want, Yoongi. You don’t have to hold back at all.”

Yoongi still looks embarrassed, but they can tell he did calm down a bit. He nods and proceeds walking again as if nothing happened, still clutching the cat plushy tightly. Taehyung and Jungkook just followed while still looking at him fondly.

They allowed Yoongi to take the lead. Seeing him walking around the mall without being too anxious and always so conscious of whether he’s doing something wrong is a massive development. He looks so adorable looking around the mall, gazing curiously at every store they pass. It almost seems like this environment is new to Yoongi. And with how his owner just abandoned him, Taehyung can assume he wasn’t treated well back then.

Yoongi suddenly stopped walking, and so Taehyung and Jungkook stopped too. They followed Yoongi’s gaze. He seems to be staring intently at something.

What greets their sight is a collar store, and they instantly remember that Yoongi is, in fact, still wearing his old worn-out collar from his previous owner.

Yoongi moves his gaze downwards, and his hand moves to hold the collar around his neck. He looks so sad and mournful, and the mere sight breaks Taehyung’s and Jungkook’s hearts.

Jungkook managed to compose himself before Taehyung did. He walks towards Yoongi, placing his free hand on Yoongi’s head and caressing his ear gently because Jungkook knows by now that it helps Yoongi relax. “You don’t have to replace your collar. You can keep it if you want to. We would never force you to wear something you’re uncomfortable with.”

Yoongi shakes his head, a small but genuine smile forming on his face. “I shouldn’t hold onto this anymore. I’m not with him anymore. I don’t want to think about him anymore,” he says, his voice soft but with so much determination. Taehyung and Jungkook watch as Yoongi removes his collar before looking at the two of them expectantly. “You said I can get anything, right? Can I get a new collar?” he asks shyly.

And Taehyung grins, finally managing to compose himself. He can think about Yoongi’s previous owner later (probably when he can finally talk to Namjoon). “Of course, Yoonie. Come on! Let’s get you a new collar!” Taehyung excitedly exclaims, transferring all of the bags he’s holding to one hand so he can use his other to take Yoongi’s hand.

Yoongi flushes red upon hearing the nickname, but he follows Taehyung anyway. Jungkook is just laughing fondly, amused by how excited Taehyung is and glad that Yoongi is finally learning how to ask for things he wants. It’s a huge step for all three of them. They haven’t properly talked to Yoongi about whether he wants to stay with them yet, but Jungkook feels like it wouldn’t be difficult to convince him.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

“Do you like your collar?” Jungkook asks Yoongi, who’s currently lying on the couch with his head on Jungkook’s lap and his feet on Taehyung’s while watching a basketball game on the television. Jungkook is playing with Yoongi’s hair and ears as usual, and Taehyung is massaging his feet, carefully avoiding some bruises and wounds there.

Yoongi hums, shifting his attention from the television and towards Jungkook. He lifts his hand to touch his new collar, smiling softly. “I love it. Thank you for letting me have it, uhm, Jungkook-Hyung.”

Jungkook smiles, his hand moving to touch the collar too. “It looks pretty on you.”

Yoongi giggles, covering his mouth with his hands so adorably to hide his smile. Jungkook just wants to melt to the ground. “Thank you, Hyung.”

Taehyung clears his throat, getting both of their attention. “Forgetting that I’m here?” he asks, holding back a smile and raising an eyebrow.

Yoongi giggles once again, rubbing his feet together on Taehyung’s lap. “I would never!” Taehyung laughs, caressing Yoongi’s legs and making the hybrid smile widely in satisfaction. He feels so spoiled!

“Oh, by the way, Yoongi, I wanted to talk to you about something,” Taehyung starts, briefly making eye contact with Jungkook. Jungkook just nods, allowing him to continue. And so Taehyung settles his eyes on Yoongi once again, giving him his full attention.

Yoongi’s ears perk up upon hearing the question, and he makes a small, confused noise (that is just so cute, Taehyung almost forgot what he was talking about). “What is it, Hyung? Is it… about the shelter?”

Taehyung nods. “Yeah. I mentioned that to you before, right? Jungkookie and I have a lawyer friend, and, well, he has connections with hybrid shelters too because he worked on a lot of hybrid cases before.”

“Oh,” Yoongi says, suddenly sounding defeated. His lips turn down into a frown, and his ears droop on his head. “Are you… giving me away to a shelter now?” he asks, sounding so, so hurt and heartbroken. Taehyung wants to smack himself.

“No! No, Yoongi! That’s not what I meant!” he exclaims, shaking his head and waving his hand to eliminate the miscommunication as quickly as possible. There is just no way he would ever make Yoongi feel unwanted! Not even for a single second if he could help it!

“I wanted to ask you if you feel comfortable enough with Jungkookie and me and- and if you’d want to stay with us instead of going to the shelter. Not that you should feel obliged to! If you want to go to the shelter, I can talk to Namjoon-Hyung - our lawyer friend - and get him to prepare the paperwork. But, you know, if you want to stay with us, we can ask Namjoon-Hyung to prepare the documents for that as well. If you want to stay with us, we promise we’ll do our best to be the best companion in the whole world, and we will treat you really, really well, to the best of our abilities. Only if you want to! Please don’t feel pressured, Yoonie. You can make any decision, and we’ll support you. I promise.”

The tension slowly dissipates from Yoongi’s form, leaving him with a look of shock and disbelief. But also fondness. He noticed how Taehyung used the term ‘companion’ instead of something hierarchical. It might be a small detail, but it means a lot to him. “You - you want me here?” he asks as if the thought is so hard to believe when Jungkook and Taehyung have never been so sure about anything their whole lives.

“We do,” Taehyung answers, looking hopeful and slightly scared. He doesn’t know what to do if Yoongi decides he still wants to leave. They did their best to make Yoongi feel comfortable with their limited time. They can’t keep Yoongi here for too long without the official documents after all, so they have to decide as soon as possible.

“You don’t have to decide right away,” Jungkook soothingly says, playing with Yoongi’s hair and pushing the strands away from his face so Jungkook could get a better view of his features. “You can think about it until tomorrow evening. We’ll respect your decision - whatever it is.”

Yoongi shakes his head, all negative emotions leaving his face, soon replaced by a gentle smile and a fond look as he looks at Taehyung and Jungkook. “I, uhm, I want to stay. If you want me here. You guys have been really nice to me, and I really just loved being here with you. It hasn’t been long, but I already feel at home here for some reason.” He chuckles, cheeks flushing red. “I want to stay here with you if you’ll let me. I want to spend more time with you because it’s really fun. Oh! I promise I’ll work hard. I’ll do chores and stuff. I’ll make sure you won’t regret it!”

Identical grins form on Taehyung and Jungkook’s faces as their gazes meet. They are just so happy. Jungkook doesn’t remember the last time he felt so much for someone other than Taheyung. He can’t recall ever seeing Taehyung this happy because of someone else before too. And not-so-strangely, Jungkook is entirely okay with it. Taehyung seems to be too.

“Silly, you don’t have to do chores or anything! We just want you here!” Taehyung excitedly says, practically throwing himself on top of Yoongi and crushing Jungkook under, making the latter groan. But he can’t complain anyway. Not when he’s looking at Taehyung smothering Yoongi with kisses all over his face and locking him into a hug while Yoongi is giggling and laughing and trying to get away from Taehyung (but it’s a half-hearted attempt - Yoongi seems to be enjoying it a lot). Jungkook soon joins in on the fun, laughing as he kisses Taehyung and Yoongi on the head. The two grin widely at him before peppering his face with kisses too. Jungkook is definitely living his best life.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

“His previous owner did what? “ Taehyung asks through the phone, seething with anger upon hearing what Namjoon just said about Yoongi’s previous owner. Jungkook instantly moves to his side, wrapping an arm around him and rubbing his back to calm him down a little.

They asked Namjoon to help them with the official documents so they could keep Yoongi without worrying about the authorities taking him away or his previous owner suddenly showing up to get him back. And they genuinely thought it would go well without any problems because Yoongi’s previous owner abandoned him, so it means that the man doesn’t want to take Yoongi back anymore, but then Namjoon suddenly called to tell them that he found information about Yoongi’s previous owner (which is absolutely necessary because they need to ask him to sign some documents), and also what he’s been up to when he still had Yoongi.

The man apparently took Yoongi in when he was twelve, raising him to adulthood when he was supposed to have his heat. They don’t know what exactly his intentions were, but it couldn’t have been pure because the man was making numerous doctors check on Yoongi frequently just to find out why Yoongi isn’t having his heat and when he’s supposed to have it. Taehyung feels disgusted. And Jungkook seems bothered, too, even though he hasn’t said anything since he heard the details from Namjoon.

“I don’t think he was able to do anything because, well, Yoongi’s heat didn’t come. So he kicked Yoongi out and found a new hybrid.” Taehyung wished that that could make him feel better, but it didn’t. He’s mad about Yoongi’s previous owner kicking him out just like that and causing all of those bad experiences Yoongi had to go through in the streets.

But Taehyung knows that it’s for the best. Sure, he wishes Yoongi didn’t have to get hurt, but at least he escaped what his previous master was planning. And it’s probably so selfish of Taehyung to think like this, but he’s thankful he found Yoongi. They can’t change the past, but Taehyung will ensure that Yoongi wouldn’t experience that again.

“Did he sign the documents?” Jungkook asks, ever the more composed between the two of them. Taehyung can tell that he’s pissed off, though.

“He did. He was saying some… provocative stuff about Yoongi, but as you instructed, I offered him some money, and he took it instantly and signed the documents. That’s the annoying news. I had to tell you because I thought it was important. Everything’s fine now, though. I don’t think he plans on going after Yoongi again. He seems pretty happy with his new hybrid. Yoongi can stay with you now.” He’s right. They can’t do anything about Yoongi’s previous owner now. They have to focus on Yoongi, and they have all the time in the world to make Yoongi happy because he can stay with them now!

“Thank you, Hyung. We owe you for this. It really, really means a lot to us,” Taehyung says, finally managing to calm himself down. Having Jungkook next to him really helps a lot.

“Don’t worry about it. Just take care of Yoongi. He’s been through a lot. And I know that you two are good people and that you would never hurt him, but I wanted to remind you anyway. Treat him well.”

“We will,” Jungkook answers with so much determination. It’s evident on his face as well. He really means it. “We’ll make him happy. Thank you, Hyung.”

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

Taehyung and Jungkook took that promise seriously.

Yoongi doesn’t know that they knew. All he knows is that everything is settled now and that he can stay with them for as long as they all want to, which makes him really happy. He doesn’t know that Taehyung and Jungkook are set on doing their best just to make sure he can live the best life he can possibly live under their care.

Yoongi isn’t really one who is naturally spoiled, perhaps because of how he was brought up in his previous household, but Taehyung and Jungkook plan to change that. They encourage him to do whatever he wants and to talk freely about his hobbies so they can provide for him. When Yoongi said he’s always wanted to try playing instruments, Jungkook got him a guitar, and he fell in love with it. Most of the time, Taehyung would wake up to the sweet sound of Jungkook’s singing voice, accompanied by Yoongi playing the guitar. The hybrid has a talent for music, which they realized very early on.

So Taehyung urged himself to finally finish writing (realizing that he’s been holding it off for way too long). As soon as he got his first paycheck from it, he instantly went out to buy a piano for Yoongi. The cat hybrid looked so amazed when the piano arrived. He gasped, ears perking up and tail freezing in the air. Taehyung remembered being unable to stop himself, leaning down to Yoongi’s height just to kiss his ear, making the hybrid flustered.

Jungkook was there to take photos and videos of Yoongi’s first time playing the piano. And that’s how Yoongi’s love for the piano developed. Sometimes, he wakes up early in the morning just to practice some more, and through time, he started getting better and better at it until he was able to just play so naturally, eyes closed, a gentle smile on his face, and his tail swaying along to the sound of the music (Jungkook made sure to take a full video of that because he knew they’d want to look back to it someday).

And just like that, Taehyung and Jungkook found themselves falling deeper into the mess of feelings they have for Yoongi. He’s gorgeous. He has the softest features, the sweetest voice, the gentlest touch, and the kindest heart. He’s very sensitive to their emotions. He’d always know how to act in every situation he’s facing.

When they’re having a bad day because of work, Yoongi would just stay quiet because he knows they don’t like talking about their bad days. He would simply sit next to them, with drinks in his hands sometimes, and scoot closer and closer until they realized what he was trying to do. Yoongi would purr when they finally put their arms around him to pull him close, and they would just be cuddling on the couch, drinking whatever drink Yoongi learned how to make that day (because he’s always learning new things!), and that’s all it would take to make them feel better.

Yoongi also shares their happiness. They’re three different people with different interests and hobbies, but Yoongi always seems so interested in whatever it is they’re doing.

He’d sit next to Taehyung when he was writing his stories, and Taehyung would love his company anyway, feeling more inspired to write when Yoongi was there to comment on his works and leave little compliments now and again. Yoongi would join Jungkook in watching his favorite shows even though he was never that interested in movies and television shows, preferring reading and silence over it. But he saw that it made Jungkook happy, and it helped ease the stress Jungkook has after a long day of work, so sometimes, Yoongi would even initiate the activity himself just so he could help Jungkook feel better.

And Yoongi wasn’t really comfortable with taking photos. He feels a bit insecure with too much attention on him, so it was not something that he liked as much as Taehyung and Jungkook did. But he tries for them anyway. He saw how much Taehyung and Jungkook loved taking photos and videos of him doing just about anything he wanted, claiming that they were doing it to keep the memories. And Yoongi does it for them. He likes the idea anyway. He’s not in love with cameras, but he loves the idea of keeping his precious memories with Taehyung and Jungkook because he loves them and wants to remember all the moments they share together.

Yoongi loves them so much. He doesn’t know how deep these feelings go, but he knows he’s never loved anyone as much as he loves Taehyung and Jungkook. They just get him. They understand him the most. They treat him so well, and Yoongi doesn’t want to be anywhere else but right here by their side. He wants to stay like this forever if they’d allow him.

It hasn’t even been that long, but this place is already starting to feel like home. Or maybe it’s not the place. Maybe it’s Taehyung and Jungkook. Yoongi is pretty happy with that conclusion.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

“Yoongi, we want you to meet Hoseok-Hyung and Jimin. We thought it would be nice for you and Jimin to be friends,” Taehyung says one day when two of his friends came over to visit. Jungkook is at work. It would’ve been nice if he was here too. Yoongi misses him already.

“Hello, Yoongi! I’m Hoseok. You can call me Hyung, too, since we’re basically family. This is my boyfriend, Jimin. He’s a cat hybrid like you,” Hoseok says kindly to Yoongi. Upon hearing what he referred to Jimin as, Yoongi gasps. He didn’t know humans would date hybrids. It’s just something he never thought would be possible. As far as he’s aware, they were brought up as pets. His previous master made sure he knew that. (Well, Taehyung and Jungkook certainly didn’t make him feel like that, but Yoongi assumed they were the rare exception. Most of the humans he knew saw hybrids as pets.)

“Hyung! I wanted to introduce myself!” Jimin whines, pouting and glaring at Hoseok. Yoongi’s eyes widen. Did Jimin just talk back to his human and raise his voice?! Is that even allowed?!

But Hoseok just laughs at that, pulling Jimin in for a tight hug and cooing. “Okay, okay, sorry, Jiminie. I got too excited!”

Jimin huffs, crossing his arms over his chest and looking way too arrogant for a hybrid. “Taehyungie, isn’t Jungkook gonna show up?” Jimin asks, raising an eyebrow at Taehyung.

“Oh, you know how he is. Busy with work.”

Jimin frowns. “Are you two neglecting Yoongi?! Look at him! He looks so cute! You should be giving him a lot of attention!” he exclaims, almost as if he’s throwing a tantrum - something that Yoongi couldn’t imagine doing in front of any human.

But Taehyung, just like Hoseok, merely laughs at Jimin’s words. “I’ll tell him you said that,” he says.

“You better. We cat hybrids stick together. I will kick your ass if you make him sad,” Jimin threatens, surprising Yoongi. Jimin just seems… so carefree. Yoongi had never met a hybrid who would talk to humans like that. Many would find it disrespectful. But Jimin is doing it anyway, acting like they are all equals - like they’re friends. Yoongi doesn’t know how he’s doing that.

“Anyway, Yoongi,” Jimin calls, finally turning his attention to Yoongi. Jimin is beautiful, Yoongi notices instantly, now that he finally got a good look on Jimin’s face. “We should hang out together a lot! Let’s leave these humans alone and talk about interesting and top-secret cat hybrid stuff,” Jimin says. Then he’s holding Yoongi by the hand and dragging him out of the apartment without asking Hoseok or Taehyung for permission. Yoongi hears the humans telling them to come home before it gets dark, but that’s all. They didn’t stop them or anything. They seem perfectly fine with it.

“Uhm, are you sure it’s okay for us to leave just like that? Shouldn’t we ask for permission first? Are we allowed to go out without them?” Yoongi asks anxiously, tightening his hold on Jimin’s hand in fear of suddenly being left alone on the streets.

Jimin giggles. “Don’t worry about that. I go out alone all the time! And I wanted to talk to you about Taehyung and Jungkook without them hearing so you would be more honest. I have a lot of questions.”

“Maybe we should’ve… talked inside instead? Isn’t it dangerous outside without a human with us?”

Jimin huffs. “I know I look small, but I’m a good fighter. I train with Hoseok-Hyung all the time. Don’t worry about the bad guys. I promise I can protect you. I’m probably more reliable than Taehyung and Jungkook! They’re too nice to fight. Not me, though. I don’t hold back at all. I’ve gotten into many fights because Hoseok-Hyung is too nice, and he lets people walk all over him. And I won’t let them! So I show them their place. Only I can walk all over Hoseok-Hyung,” Jimin says smugly and jokingly, and Yoongi laughs at that. He kind of gets it. Jimin has a very strong personality, and Hoseok seems to love it a lot. That must be why they’re dating. They seem so compatible with each other.

“So, you’re dating a human?” Yoongi asks curiously as they continue their walk led by Jimin. Jimin seems so familiar with the town. It looks like he really has been outside a lot.

“Yeah, is it weird?”

“Not at all!” Yoongi exclaims, not wanting to form any misunderstanding with Jimin. “I just- I think it’s cool. I didn’t know humans and hybrids could be… together.”

“Well, I mean, it’s not that common, but it’s possible. I don’t see why we shouldn’t be able to be with them if we love them. Are you asking me this because of Taehyung and Jungkook?”

Yoongi’s cheeks heat up instantly. He didn’t expect Jimin to just say it like that. He didn’t think he was being obvious!

“I see,” Jimin says, not even needing Yoongi’s response. “They’re basically obsessed with you. I’d say go for it. I’ve known them for so long. I can see that they like you. They never shut up about you too. If you really like them romantically and not just because you’re grateful for them helping you, then go for it. I’m sure it will go well. Like, I can assure you right now that it will go well.”

Yoongi nods slowly, still not convinced. “They’re dating. They’re very happy together, and I love seeing them happy. It doesn’t really matter if things stay like this anyway. I will be satisfied just being able to stay by their side.”

Jimin gasps, perhaps a bit too exaggerated. “Yoongi! You clearly don’t know how cute you are! You should be more confident! Like, I swear, Taehyung and Jungkook never shut up about how adorable you are. They’re so whipped - it’s actually pretty embarrassing. You should take advantage of that and make them worship you!”

Yoongi chuckles nervously. “I don’t think it has to get to that point.”

Jimin stares at him, his expression completely serious. “Oh, but it can , Yoongi. I’ll help you.”

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

Something changed about Yoongi after he met Jimin. It wasn’t sudden, but still very noticeable to Taehyung and Jungkook as the people who see him every day. Yoongi seems to be enjoying talking to Jimin a lot. In fact, Taehyung and Jungkook sometimes get jealous whenever they would come to Yoongi’s room to spend time with him, only to see that Yoongi is on the phone (the one they gave him and taught him how to use when Yoongi started staying with them for good), smiling and giggling as he talks to Jimin.

But Yoongi’s friendship with Jimin seems to be a really good thing. Yoongi looks up to Jimin - that is very noticeable. Because of his admiration for Jimin, he seems to be subconsciously picking up some of Jimin’s personality as well. It’s not that Taehyung and Jungkook want Yoongi to change. It’s not like that at all. But seeing Yoongi become much more confident and freer is a huge step for all of them.

It didn’t happen instantly, but slowly, Yoongi started doing more things in the apartment without asking for permission. He’ll eat his food without waiting for Jungkook and Taehyung to eat first. He’ll lie down on the couch and nap without worrying about being too ‘lazy.’ He’ll ask for his favorite food sometimes, and his humans would, of course, never say no to him, bending over backward just to give him what he wants.

Sometimes, Yoongi would even go to them to get one of them to give him head pats because the gesture gives him a lot of comfort. He stopped acting like a guest who could leave any moment he was asked to and started acting more like a family equal to Taehung and Jungkook. And they loved that a lot. They loved those changes a lot because it meant that Yoongi was starting to feel more comfortable with them. That’s what they’ve always wanted - for Yoongi to be a part of their family.

But that didn’t stop there. Yoongi changes even more as days go by, doing things that surprise Taehyung and Jungkook (very pleasantly).

It started with Yoongi walking them to the door whenever they had to leave for work. Jungkook experienced it first as the one who regularly left for work.

“I have to go now. If you want me to buy you anything on my way home, just text me or ask Taehyung to text me. I’ll get it for you. Don’t hesitate, okay? I’ll see you when I get back,” Jungkook says, slinging his bag over his shoulder before placing a hand on Yoongi’s head, caressing his ear gently just the way he knows Yoongi likes.

“Even if I want lots of snacks?” Yoongi asks, looking up at Jungkook innocently.

Jungkook laughs fondly. “Even if you want lots of snacks. Anything at all.”

Yoongi grins widely before standing on his tiptoes and pressing a kiss on Jungkook’s cheek unannounced. Jungkook’s eyes widen. His whole form freezes. “Okay, Hyung! Good luck with work!”

And then Yoongi - Yoongi walks away, skipping on his feet and humming adorably as if he didn’t just break Jungkook mentally. He passes Taehyung, who just watches him with confusion before his eyes meet Jungkook’s, raising an eyebrow and wondering why the hell Jungkook is just standing there. Taehyung didn’t understand what happened until he himself experienced it when he was about to leave for a meeting with his editor a few days later. Jungkook laughed loudly at him that day.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

mimi 🍑: so how did it go huh? 👀

yoonie 🍊: oh they seemed so surprised!! I think they both froze when i did the kiss thingy you told me to do the first time and they looked so weird! maybe i’m doing something wrong?? 😔

mimi 🍑: no omg yoongi ur doing GREAT! KEEP IT UP!! GO WITH THE NEXT STEPS!!

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

The next step is for Yoongi to be as affectionate as possible. It makes Yoongi feel a bit shy, but he has to admit that he does like being close to Taehyung and Jungkook, so this really isn’t a chore at all.

“You want head rubs again?” Taehyung asks fondly as Yoongi lies down with his head on Jungkook’s lap again for the umpteenth time these past few days. Yoongi has been very physically intimate with them lately.

He’s usually really good at dividing his time and attention between Taehyung and Jungkook just so no one would feel left behind, but whenever Jungkook is gone for work, Yoongi would always cling to Taehyung, and if given a chance, he would just occupy Taehyung’s lap for as long as possible. Taehyung doesn’t mind it. Even if it sometimes disrupts his work, he doesn’t mind. Being at the receiving end of Yoongi’s affection is something Taehyung would always choose above work. That’s just how it goes. Taehyung doesn’t make the rules.

Yoongi nods innocently, looking up at Taehyung expectantly. Taehyung grins, all wide and boxy, as he runs his fingers through Yoongi’s soft and fluffy hair, massaging his scalp before moving them to his ears, where Yoongi loves being touched the most. He seems to be very sensitive there (on his tail too, but that’s not really a place they can just touch as much as they want. Yoongi doesn’t seem to mind, but still, it feels a bit awkward to touch him there without explicit consent), and he seems to be enjoying it very much because, with a few movements of Taehyung’s hand, Yoongi closes his eyes and purrs, head tilting a bit to press his ear closer to Taehyung’s touch. The sight makes Taehyung feel things that he doesn’t want to acknowledge right now.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

And then Yoongi moves even further after that.

One night, Taehyung and Jungkook are just about to sleep, having a light talk in bed about how their day went, when the door creaks open, breaking the conversation between the two and making them turn their full attention to the door where Yoongi is currently standing, eyes looking at them so innocently. At the same time, his tail sways behind him excitedly. “Can I sleep here?” he asks so adorably, and who are they to say no to him?

“Of course. Come here, Yoongi,” Jungkook says, shifting to the side, with Taehyung mirroring his actions and patting the space between them to invite Yoongi in.

Yoongi smiles, all cute and gummy, before he fully enters the room, shutting the door behind him and crawling into the bed between Taehyung and Jungkook. “Any particular reason why you want to sleep here?” Taehyung asks once Yoongi is comfortably tucked in between the two of them. Jungkook is playing with Yoongi’s ear. It’s a habit by now.

“Just wanna be close to you,” Yoongi explains so innocently as if those words didn’t just stop their heartbeat for a few seconds, impacting Taehyung and Jungkook so much that they had to pause and hold their breaths. Yoongi has been saying so many things that may or may not have some implications, and they genuinely don’t know how to approach this subject without potentially scaring Yoongi away.

“You can always sleep here if you want to. You’re so soft. It feels so nice to hug you,” Jungkook says, finally moving his hand away from Yoongi’s ears in favor of wrapping an arm around the hybrid’s waist, pulling Yoongi’s body closer to his own.

Yoongi giggles, turning to face Jungkook and innocently, oh so innocently, leaving a kitten lick near Jungkook’s lips, making the man freeze once again. Taehyung is pretty sure he’s completely frozen just from witnessing that as well. Yoongi doesn’t look fazed, though. He probably doesn’t know the implication of what he just did.

Taehyung honestly doesn’t know what he would’ve done if he was the one in Jungkook’s shoes. If Yoongi just suddenly did that near his lips, Taehyung would probably do impulsive things without even giving himself the chance to think about what the best course of action would be, so when he sees Jungkook suddenly leaning in to capture Yoongi’s lips in a kiss, Taehyung couldn’t really blame him. He probably would’ve done the same.

Yoongi lets out a confused noise but obediently lets Jungkook kiss him anyway, clumsily responding to Jungkook’s kiss when it’s obvious that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He seems to like it very much, though. Taehyung can tell by the way his ears are twitching.

It dawns upon Taehyung as he watches them kissing that they have really crossed the line this time. There is no going back from this now. Jungkook has done it already. They’ve already had several discussions in the past, admitting to their interest in Yoongi, but this is the first real step Jungkook has taken. There is simply no other choice than to go through with it, and Taehyung doesn’t really hate that idea. They’ve waited long enough. If Yoongi wants it, too, then maybe they really don’t have to hold back at all.

(Don’t get him wrong, though. It’s not like the only reason they wanted to keep Yoongi is because of the attraction they have towards him. They would’ve been fine if Yoongi wanted to maintain a platonic relationship with them. They’d be pleased with that. But Yoongi is just so easy to love. And it’s so hard. It’s so, so hard for Taehyung and Jungkook to keep their feelings hidden.)

Taehyung places a hand on Yoongi’s hip, pressing himself closer to the hybrid. Yoongi mewls, breaking away from the kiss with Jungkook. Taehyung rubs his nose on the back of Yoongi’s neck, taking his wonderful scent in before whispering, “I’m getting jealous. No kisses for me?”

Yoongi gasps dramatically upon hearing that. Jungkook laughs as Yoongi rushes to turn around, placing his hands on Taehyung’s cheek and pulling him in for a kiss despite his inexperience with leading it.

Taehyung laughs softly into the kiss, taking the lead and making Yoongi let out a moan at the intensity of it. Taehyung’s always been like that. He’s way too passionate and excited. But Jungkook always loved it about him, and he’s loving it even more now that he’s watching how Yoongi is practically melting just because of Taehyung’s kiss.

It’s a mesmerizing sight to see. Jungkook definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more of this in the future.

“Are you guys done?” Jungkook asks with a chuckle as he watches Yoongi shyly pull away from the kiss, cheeks flushing red after realizing what he had just done. “I’d hate to interrupt you because that was really fun to watch, but we have to discuss something really important, and I would really like to discuss it before we all go to sleep or… become more preoccupied.”

Taehyung giggles, maintaining a loose hold around Yoongi’s waist as he trains his eyes on Jungkook. Yoongi looks at him attentively too.

“Yoongi,” Jungkook starts, looking Yoongi in the eyes even though it made Yoongi even more flustered. He’s never been good with eye contact. “The kiss… do you know what that means?”

Yoongi licks his lips and nods slowly. “Jiminie-Hyung said you kiss the people you love, and I- I love you and Taehyung-Hyung a lot, so I wanted to kiss you too.”

“Can you, uhm.” Jungkook clears his throat, suddenly feeling excited and nervous at the same time. “Can you clarify that? By “loving” us, does that mean you… have romantic feelings for us, or is this some familial kind of thing? Sorry, this might be overwhelming for you, but we just really have to know because we need to draw lines if that’s what you want and need. We don’t want to do things that would make you feel uncomfortable. We love you, Yoongi. A lot.” Taehyung nods to confirm Jungkook’s words.

“We want to take care of you and kiss you and hold you and keep you by our side forever if you’d let us. That’s how we feel. So if it’s not something you want, and if it makes you feel uncomfortable, we can make adjustments and make things right so you’d be more comfortable. But we need to know how you feel so we can make the right decision.”

“How I… feel about you?”

“Yes, Yoongi. Only if you feel comfortable talking about it, though. Or if you need more time to think. It’s okay. We can give you some space and wait patiently.”

“No, it’s okay, Hyung. I think I know the answer. I just- it’s a little embarrassing.”

Taehyung laughs fondly, rubbing Yoongi’s stomach softly. “Don’t be embarrassed. It’s just us. You can say anything you want.”

“When, uh, when Hoseok-Hyung and Jimin-Hyung came to visit for the first time, I saw how different their relationship is from ours, and- and I realized that I wanted that too. With you. I didn’t know if it was possible. I told Jimin-Hyung that nothing had to happen - that I was happy with how things were back then, but Jimin-Hyung said that I had to try because he thought there was a chance, so I did. I did what Jimin-Hyung instructed me to do and realized I really wanted it. I wanted to do all those things with you. I wanted to be even closer to you. What Hoseok-Hyung and Jimin-Hyung had - I wanted that with you.”

“Yoongi,” Jungkook calls his name with so much fondness in his voice and expression. He’s looking at Yoongi like he’s the most precious thing in the whole world, and that makes Yoongi want to cry. No one has ever looked at him like that before. He’s never been so important to anyone before.

“God, Yoongi, we really do love you so much. I can’t believe you want us too,” Taehyung says this time, pressing a kiss on Yoongi’s jaw. “Does this mean you want to be with us too? Officially? Want to be with me and Kookie?”

Yoongi didn’t even have to think about it. He just looks at Taehyung and Jungkook, smiles, and nods excitedly. “Yes, Hyung. I want that so much.”

Yoongi shrieks when both Jungkook and Taehyung practically throw themselves at him, holding his face and pressing kisses wherever they can reach with their lips. The room was filled with giggles and laughter as Jungkook and Taehyung showered Yoongi with all of the love they could possibly give him because that’s what Yoongi deserves. And now that they’re given a chance, they would spend their whole lives taking care of Yoongi and loving him so much that he would never ever doubt that he’s loved. Yoongi will never feel alone again. Not under their watch.

A month later, Yoongi finally had his first heat, and while Taehyung and Jungkook had no experience with heats, with Yoongi being their first (and last) hybrid, they took care of Yoongi really well anyway. Yoongi is sure that no one will ever take care of him as good as they did.

(And Yoongi also finally realized that there was nothing wrong with him. He’s not incapable of having heats. He just had to wait to meet Taehyung and Jungkook - the people that he trusts and loves the most in his life. He’s so glad that he had his first heat with them. He couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.)

“So,” Jimin starts, crossing his legs and raising an eyebrow at the people before him. “I’m guessing it all worked out?”

Yoongi mewls from his position in between Taehyung and Jungkook, who are, by the way, currently hogging Yoongi, trying to cling onto him in a very uncomfortable position while Taehyung is pressing kisses on Yoongi’s neck and jaw (currently covered with marks) while Jungkook is nuzzling his face on Yoongi’s fluffy hair, smiling contently as if there’s nowhere else he’d rather be.

“I, uh, I guess you can say that,” Yoongi replies, smiling sheepishly at Jimin.

Jimin snorts. No shit. It’s pretty obvious that things turned out more than okay with how those two are acting right now. Just as Jimin thought. They really are too much. Even Hoseok didn’t act like this when they started dating!

“So, just to clarify. This is all consensual, right? Yoongi wants it? I don’t have to interfere?” Namjoon asks, resting his head on Seokjin’s shoulder while sipping on his drink, looking way too harmless for someone who’s a feared lawyer. It’s funny how he looks so innocent next to Seokjin when he probably makes people cry in the court for a living.

“Of course it is!” Taehyung responds dramatically. “Yoongi is in love with us!”

Yoongi giggles, ears twitching happily and tail swaying contently behind him as he nods excitedly to confirm Taehyung’s words. Jungkook pets him on the head, making Yoongi purr, and Jimin hears some praises here and there, but he chooses to not perceive it.

Jimin smiles as he watches them, though. He knew how exactly it would go the moment he offered Yoongi his help. He had never seen Taehyung and Jungkook so in love with someone else before, and Jimin knew that Yoongi was the missing piece that would complete their family.

Jimin can tell that Yoongi is happy too, which makes Jimin happy in return. Hoseok told him about Yoongi’s past - his previous owner, in particular. And it made Jimin so mad. He hates hearing about his fellow hybrids being used by humans for their own selfish gains and desires, and he hated the human even more when he met Yoongi and realized just how innocent and kind, and pure Yoongi is.

Jimin felt the strong urge to protect him. It must be because Yoongi is a cat hybrid too. It must be because he just likes Yoongi a lot, and he wants Yoongi to be happy. He can’t blame Taehyung and Jungkook. Just one look at Yoongi and Jimin can already tell why they feel so deeply for him.

Jimin is very proud of what he has done.

All of his instructions for Yoongi, all of the support he gave those three just so they could get their shit together - Jimin is proud of all of it.

He especially likes it when Yoongi texts him or calls him excitedly to talk about his day and everything he did with Taehyung and Jungkook. Yoongi would sound so happy. Yoongi would sound so in love. And so Jimin listens intently. He always does. He wants to laugh about how embarrassingly whipped Taehyung and Jungkook are for Yoongi just based on the hybrid’s stories, but he holds himself back every time.

Because if there’s someone who deserves partners who are almost obsessively in love with him to the point where they’re willing to give him everything, it’s Yoongi. And knowing Taehyung and Jungkook and seeing how much they love Yoongi, Jimin is sure they’re the perfect people for that job too.
