she saw his corpse and clary felt like she was dying too.
his limbs were limp like the joints in her knees, and he felt weightless in her arms, hollow as her own joyless body, her breath slowed until she wasn’t breathing.
She couldn’t make the tears, too dry, too empty- might have screamed though, as the shock was a knife to the gut, worse than a demon bite, than a disappeared mother.
she would have begged to be killed, if it meant she couldn’t feel this pain, but Simon would stay dead, so instead she begged to revive him.
