Work Text:

Luna’s head hurt. She had no idea where she was, and the last thing she remembered was passing out on the floor of her room. Slowly, she got up, wincing as her head throbbed with pain. As she rose off the floor, Luna looked around. It was... beautiful. She stood in the middle of a field of flowers, every type imaginable. There were roses, daisies, dandelions, lilies, and so many more. But as she looked closer at the flowers, she saw that they were made of solid silver, but still were detailed and swayed in the breeze. Luna crouched down to pick a peony, and shuddered. It felt like a normal flower too, and the stem cracked far to easily for something made of metal. She stood up again, and looked at the sky. It was a dusky purple, and scattered with millions of stars. There were no clouds, and a large, silvery crescent moon too perfect to be real rested in the sky. It was beautiful, but it lacked life. As Luna looked around, she spotted a dot of purple that was a d different shade to all the others. She thought it over for a few seconds, and. Then decided to start moving towards the dot. It couldn’t hurt, she reasoned. I might as well do it. As Luna started walking towards the dot, she noticed yet another thing that was off about this place. The sun should have risen by now, but the moon still was nestled between the stars, completely unmoving, almost tauntingly. And there was another thing. After walking for hours towards that purple dot, she should have been exhausted. But she felt refreshed an energised, and even the dull throb in her skull had started to fade. And the field should have ended by now. Nobody needed these many flowers, so why did it feel like the field never ended? Whenever she thought that surely there were enough flowers and she was at the edge, Luna would look back up and see the many more miles of flowers. And every time she nearly lost hope, nearly sat down and gave up. But every time, the dot was just the slightest bit bigger. So every time, Luna mustered up her motivation and trudged onwards.

Luna had no idea what the time was, or how long she had been here. She didn’t feel tired, and the moon hadn’t moved a single inch. Not even a ladybug of an inch. But she was close enough to the dot to see what it was. It looked vaguely like a woman, but she was very far away and couldn’t make out any details. Luna looked down at her feet. Her boots were practical for walking long distances, but did she even need them in this place where nothing hurt and no energy was depleted? The flowers looked so inviting. Come on, they seemed to whisper. You know you want to. So she did. Luna knelt down and took off her boots, releasing tension she hadn’t even noticed when her bare feet touched the ground. Luna straightened up, and hung the shoes around her neck, like some form of jewellery. The flowers were soft, and felt like carpet when she walked. Now with new motivation, Luna charged onwards.

Luna was very close to the dot. She could see that it was, indeed, a woman. As she examined the details of this stranger, Luna noticed that the woman’s hair, which was just like her own, had a floppy lilac bow holding it in place. She wasn’t able to see much else, because the stranger was facing away from her. Luna eventually got close enough to the woman to tap her on the shoulder. She whirled around suddenly, revealing bright blue eyes, just like her. In fact, the resemblance between the two was alarming. Both had long, wavy blond hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. Then the woman opened her mouth.
“Luna.” she said “We need to talk.”
