Grounding Motions

Summary:

Sometimes, feeling each other's skin under their fingertips is soothing to Ciri and Ves, and sometimes that extends to all their scars - the things that are uniquely theirs.

Work Text:

The fabric rustled as Ciri shifted under the blanket. She lifted a hand and traced her fingers lightly over first the scar on Ves’ chin and then the one crossing through her eyebrow.

Ves grumbled, half asleep, and her eyelids fluttered. She rolled over onto her side and buried her face in Ciri’s hair. Her right hand crept over Ciri’s side, then her shoulder, until it left the coarse fabric of her nightgown and snuck up her neck, jaw, and cheek. She easily found the grooves of her scar, tracing it up and down until it lulled her to sleep.
