Chapter Text
“Yuki!” Yuno shouted latching on to her “boyfriend” though he looked more than reluctant to her affection. Yuno was in ultimate despair, one of the masterminds behind the biggest, most tragic event in human history. The others were brainwashed, but she wasn't. She really was just that crazy!
“I’m so happy to see you! I have really bad news” she said holding his shoulders tight as she ended the embrace, “The warriors of hope were defeated! This is a tragedy! The future foundation is making moves! But don't worry I’ll protect you,” she said smiling genuinely as if she didn't understand anything. Her face looked like not a single thought went through her head but Yuki knew more than anyone her intelligence shouldn’t be doubted.
He had once fought against her- that time had ended long ago. He was a shell of a man who, sitting in a room, locked in a room that only she had the key to. He had seen first-hand what the Ultimate despair truly was. He had given up now. His friends- no longer exist. Yuno killed everybody close to him and why?
“Yuki, aren't you going to ask me how I will protect you?” she asked him almost as if concerned.
“How will you protect me,” he said looking down, dryly.
“I’m so happy you asked!” Yuno said before pulling a pocket knife from her bra, “ The future foundation already got most of our comrades, the ultimate despair is falling apart. . . “ she looked to the window which was boarded up with metal. “Yuki, we can't win! We don't have any chance!” she shouted suddenly emotional, he backed away against the nearest wall, “But I won't let them win against us! We can win we don't give in to hope!” she screamed before lunging at him. He covered his face in anticipation before being stabbed in the stomach. He screamed bloody murder,” don't worry yuki, don't worry it will be over soon,” Yuno said before violating kissing him, she stabbed herself in the throat before falling on-top of him. Blood screws everywhere. He screamed over and over until he felt his own world turn dark, ‘this must be it then. . .’ he thought to himself.
“You're sure he's alright?” a warm man said.
“Y-yeah i'm good at this okay” a frail voice said.
He opened his eyes to a squeaky clean hospital room- near the middle was a short man in a suit and one of the Ultimate Despair. He immediately choked back against the wall of the room. Catching the attention of the other two in the area.
“You are yukiteru right? I’m Makoto Naegi from the future foundation.” the boy claimed. Part of him wanted to deny it- to scream at him for lying and picking him to be an idiot, but instead he pointed at the despair, the obvious elephant in the room. Well not as obvious as him but. . .
“O-oh i’m mikan tsumiki! I think I ever formally introduced myself. . . um mr. Naegi rescued me a while ago! I promise I'm good now! I'm sorry! I should shut up already, I'm so sorry!” she said, balling into herself.
“Mikan it's alright, just give him a while okay?” Makoto said gingerly.
“Wait, what about yuno?” he asked, makoto shifted uncomfortably.
“When we got to the room the two of you were she had already passed, sorry” he said
“Oh” was all yuki could muster, he knew things would be better now but at the same time. . . he missed yuno.
