Chapter Text
Scar crept down the halls, anxiously looking around for any students in sight. Only the creaking of his shoes on the planks were heard. He looked at the girl’s restroom, gulping as he stepped forward. The temperature felt off as he walked in, and suddenly.. he got the chills.
‘All this for a dare..’ He took in shaky breath, clenching his hands to knock on the bathroom door. “..Hanako-San.. Hanako-san.. are you there..” The words barely seemed to get out. Slowly, he took a step back at the door. ‘Don’t worry.. ghosts aren’t—‘ The door creaked opened. Scar’s eyes widen as he held his breath.
“I.. am.. here.”
He saw a skinny hand open the door, and when he blinked it was gone.
“What..” He murmured, clenching his heart. “I swear..I saw—“
“O v e r H e r e ..”
A hand grabbed on to his shoulders. He turned around, jumping back towards the stall. There it was, Hanako-San. It had this grin on its face, along with a large black hat that seem to cover their eyes. Along with the hat, it wore a old school boys uniform.
“You’re a..”
Hanako laughed, “I’m a supernatural.” He smiled, bowing from where he was standing. “Hanako-San of the toilet, No. 7th of the school’s mysteries.” Scar was amazed, yet a bit weirded out by the introduction. “I thought you were supposed to have some sort of bull cut and.. you’re a boy?” He raised a brow at this strange ghost. “Yes I’m a boy! And no way I’d have a bull cut, it’s just not my style.” Hanako gestured a cross sign with his hands.
“And your in the girl’s restroom?” Scar started to stand back up. The ghost huffed, “..I mean you’re here too!” As he began to inspect him, Scar notice he had light brown hair along with dark brown eyes. “So.. why’d you come? A wish perhaps?” Hanako had gestured a hand to his mouth, smiling. The dark brunette had stopped to think. This was a dare, but he too was curious about the strange rumors about Hanako granting wishes.
“What kinda of wishes can you grant?” Hanako smirked at the comment. “Well.. most people go for the romantic route.” He blew an air kiss to Scar playfully. “That seems boring.” He replied. “Aye, love’s a precious thing!” The light haired brunette defended, Scar shrugged in response.
“Oh! A great idea has come to mind!” He grinned. “And What is it?” Scar smirks to himself. “My wish would be for you to get all the people who admire me off my back!” Hanako stares at him in confusion, “Say what.” “You heard me, that’s my wish.” Scar had his hands on his hips proud of himself.
“Fine, it’s your wish.” Hanako shrugged, floating back to the stall he came from. “What are you doing?” Hanako hummed, digging through some books. After a while, he smiled, giving a large book to the taller boy. “Uhm.. aren’t you suppose to be magic or something..?” Scar’s expectations plummeted. He held the book that said ‘Guide to being uninteresting.’ He frowned at the floating boy.
“Hey, hey.. don’t be like that! I’ll help!” Hanako smiled genuinely, making a patting motion on Scar’s shoulders despite it going through him. “I guess it won’t hurt to try..” “That’s the spirit!” He bounced his heels, “And what was your name again..?” Scar looked to the book and then back to Hanako with a smile.
“I’m Scar GoodTymes, from class 2-B from the High School Division!”
Hanako smiled, nodding, as he wrote something into a clipboard that suddenly came from nowhere. Scar rose a brow, “You’re kind of weird.” Hanako threw the clipboard aside, it disappearing, and floated towards the dark brunette.
He opened the book while it was in his hands, and then stopped on a page. The notion made Scar flinch, and luckily the smaller boy didn’t notice. “Here.” He smiled to himself, “Call the police.” Scar made a face at the statement and Hanako started laughing. “They aren’t stalking me or anything.. maybe some.. but I just want them to just leave me be.” He sighed.
“Man, I wish I could pat you on the back, but eh I’m a ghost.” The light brunette joked, it put a small smile on Scar’s face. “Any who—there’s this page.” He pointed at the words in bold, ‘Be specific and straightforward.’
“If they aren’t aware of social boundaries subtle won’t work on them. Don’t get angry or shout. Just be straightforward, and if it doesn’t work, tell them you don’t want them around you anymore. You’ll probably have to repeat this.. yada yada.” Scar nodded his head, and then looked back up to Hanako. “I’m just surprised you can read upside down.” He chuckled, and the brunette laughed too.
“What can I say, I’m a quirky guy?” They laughed harder. “Well, I guess I should probably try the technique then..?” He eyed the book again. “Sure.” Scar lowered the book, closing it in his hands. “.. What if it doesn’t work..?” He murmurs. “Then.. we can try something else.”
Scar squints at the ghost, lowering his eyes, “Don’t you have any kind of magic item..?” Hanako gave him the same gaze, “I’d be a heavy price if you want to try it.” Scar drops the gaze and smiles to himself, amused at the answer. “Well.. I’m probably not going to be needing that any way.” He huffed, putting the book aside to his bag. Hanako hummed, eyes locked on him.
“I guess I’ll give it a go tomorrow..” Scar looked at his watch, it was afternoon and it was time to go home. “I guess I’ll see you around?” He gave the brunette a smile, as he left the bathroom. “Be careful of the rumors..” It was the last thing he heard before there was only silence.
Now that he had the time to think about it, he had just joked around with a ghost. Not only that, but the rumored Hanako himself. Gosh, what would he tell his friends? Yep, they’d think he was delusional, but I guess he’s always like that. At first, Hanako was kind of scary. But the more Scar spent time with the ghost, he felt like a person he’d really get along with. Maybe he could.

Cub was waiting for him at the front entrance. Currently playing on his phone while Scar changed his shoes. “Did I keep you waiting too long?” Cub has huffed in response, “You didn’t need to do the dare you know.” He put his phone in his pocket as they both continued to walk to the front gates.
“They would of been fine if you didn’t do it anyway.” Scar shrugged, “Oh c’mon, I have to live up to my name!” The raven shook his head, “Well.. you did it, right?” Scar chuckled hesitantly, “Yeah..” Cub stopped in his tracks, eyeing him. “What happened?” The dark brunette put a hand behind his neck. “Just— scary stuff, but it was fine in the end.” Cub was unconvinced, yet started walking again.
“I swear.. if something happens I’m not going to be happy.” Scar smiled, “It’s fine Cub! Since I did the dare, it’ll be my turn next round.” He laughed evilly. Cub sighed, chuckling a bit. “I’m down to see that disaster happen to Tango.”
“He won’t see what coming to him!”
