Challenge: The Muggle Marriage Law
I was thinking in the shower, as many of the greatest ideas happen, and realized how small the wizarding world is. There’s no indication in the British Isles that there is a magic school outside of Hogwarts, and we saw how small the classes are currently. There were two wars, and it’s not hard to think that in exchange for longer lives, magicals have less fertility as it appears that the Weasleys are an exception in having that many kids.
The problem: A magical marrying a magical means that they need to have more than two kids just to keep the population stable.Plus with how depopulated the Isles are, the chance of inbreeding is even higher with that small of a population.
The solution and challenge: A magical marrying a muggle means that any kids they have are likely to be magical. The ministry passes a law that all magicals must marry a muggle within a set amount of time, your choice. The amount of kids required, and how they go about it is your call. I just like the idea and how people go about it.
