Work Text:
It baffles me how someone so beautiful can exist.
If god exists and he has favourites, Nancy wheeler is definitely one of them.
As she sleeps next me right now, she is still as painfully gorgeous as she is when conscious.
Untouched by the wrath of bed hair too, might I add.
She’s unreal. What if she’s a figure of my imagination?
I poke her cheek, half expecting her to burst into a cloud of dusky smoke and float out of the window.
She does not.
Instead, she furrows her eyebrows in a way that makes me want to poke her again.
I gently pinch her cheek, still skeptical.
Nancy doesn’t do anything this time.
If this really is a hallucination I’ll never forgive my mind for conjuring it.
Her skin feels too soft to be a hallucination though.
I sigh.
Nancy has such perfect skin. She’s pale all over, untouched by any blemishes one may obtain in their teenage years.
How did I get so lucky?
I wrap my hands around her waist and pull her close.
She smells good. Like strawberry icing. It’s my favourite smell now. I stare at the pink, frilly bed sheets we’re both tucked into.
In the beginning, I wanted to burn them, but I’ve become fond of them. They suit Nancy and her whole pretty pink room. I chuckle, knowing that if Steve were here, he would have laughed at me so hard he popped a blood vessel.
I should feel embarrassed, but for some reason I don’t really care. I glare at Nancy, still asleep. A part of me hates her for making me so in love with her. She stirs, as if sensing my anger.
She slowly opens her eyes and I feel my heart shrivel up and evaporate from the expanse of my chest.
A goddess.
Her long eyelashes frame her grey-blue eyes, which are glazed with sleep, her milky skin littered with hues of blue and purple and her perfect hair mussed up in halo that framed her stupidly pretty face.
She raises a thick eyebrow at me,
“You tryna glare me to death?” She teases.
The audacity. I kiss her plush lips and bring her even closer.
She giggles and tucks her nose into the crook of my neck.
“ I want to sleep a bit more. You gonna stay?”
“Always.”
