Work Text:

The sound of thunder in the distance echoed as two males lay in bed, one with golden hair and arms wrapped around the others neck.

Aether’s eyes stayed closed as he felt the other tracing the scars which decorated his skin, it bringing an oddly relaxing sensation through his body.

Golden eyes opened once he felt the other pause, he glanced to see the puppets hand hovering over lighting-shaped scars which were engraved into his upper waist. Not that noticeable unless you really looked for them or you felt them.

Aether was confused for a moment on why the other stopped at those before remembering where he got those scars.

He rested his head in the crook of the others neck as the other hesitated before wrapping his arms around the other’s waist, pulling them closer.

Their breathing matched eachother as Aether smiled softly.

It had been a few months since that battle, a few months since they were last enemies…

The puppet shakily exhaled as he played with the others hair which was let down, unlike the usual braid his hair was always in.

“… I’m sorry.” The violet-haired puppet murmured as the other sighed.

“It’s fine, they don’t hurt. Besides, most of them are from… someone else.” Aether responded, thinking back to the fight with both Raiden Ei and the Raiden Shogun.

It was true, the majority of the lighting scars throughout his body were from Raiden Ei and the Raiden Shogun, of course there were still a few which were from his fight with Shouki No Kami.

“Who?” The puppet immediately asked as Aether sighed.

“It’s fine— they’ve already apologized and I forgave them.” Aether answered as the other seemed to want to say more on the topic but didn’t, knowing that it would be pointless due to how stubborn the blond is.

The puppet stayed silent for awhile before going back to tracing Aether scars.

Silence rested over the two again.

These two have dug a hole inside my heart and buried themselves in it
