Although you had been dating Kaeya for a year, there were still many things you didn’t know about him. The most glaring thing being his eye patch and what lies beneath. You’ve tried to sneak peaks when he is most likely to be without it.
Like when he bathes,
You purposely busied yourself with a stack of papers that sat on the table with a clear view into the bathroom. Kaeya, being ever so confident, usually left the door opening, teasing that if you ever wanted to join that you were always welcome.
You blushed at the thought, slipping into a steamy daydream.
“Has the steam gotten to you, my dear?” He whispered in your ear.
“Maybe so.” You replied, scolding yourself internally for missing your chance.
Then there was the time when you woke before him,
Usually, Kaeya was the early raiser, seeing that he was the Cavalry Captain, but today, the warm sun pulled you from your sleep.
This stillness of dawn gave you time to reflect on things. Things you didn’t necessarily want to reflect on, so instead you pushed those thoughts back and turned your attention to the man sleeping beside you.
He was absolutely beautiful. You adored him in all his glory when he was asleep, the serene look on his face was something only meant for you.
While taking in every inch of his face, you noticed the familiar velvet accessory absent.
At night, he usually switched his leather eye patch for something more comfortable to sleep in
Your teeth caught your bottom lip, chewing it in contemplation.
Just as you were to brush the hair from his face, his lashes fluttered, and just as they opened you brought your hand around to caress his cheek.
“Good morning, my sun.” His voice resonated through the room and your soul.
“Good morning, my moon.”
And finally, there was now.
“What’s under your eye patch?”
At first, the question didn’t seem to surprise him at all, however as he turned to answer you, he realized just how serious you were.
For a few tense moments, the two of you gauged the other.
And just when you were ready to back down, he reached up,
and removed it.
