Chapter Text
The world burned around two figures.
Both were complete opposites yet completely the same. One bore the mark of chaos and destruction, a symbol on their left arm; the Chaos Star. It was a circle with eight spikes protruding from its surface.
Some claim that the ancient gods or the universe itself brought down this curse to a chosen one who had made one too many mistakes.
Kiyan had been the bearer of this star for 2,000 years. They had struck fear in the hearts of anyone they encountered. Never once knowing the feeling of true acceptance, instead they were treated as a monster. A pariah who only could ever bring pain.
The only home they ever had was Akhil. Their complete and utter opposite, yet he was Kiyans other piece.
He was the symbol of perfect love. Agape, Storge, Ludus, Mania, Pragma, Philautia, Eros, and Philia. He was everything the universe stood for. He was a modern day hero, and Kiyan was the villain.
Akhil was the blessing from the gods, made to keep the chaos balanced, and therefore keeping the universe balanced.
Kiyan wanted to hate Akhil, but they couldn’t, as much as they tried, Akhil was perfect.
Kiyan strove for that perfection.
Its what lead to them both standing alone amongst a burning world,
“Don’t you see Akhil?! I love you! My love burns around us! You are my second piece and my soulmate destined by the universe! How can you not see that?
Akhil scoffed, “You really think someone could love you? I AM love, and I don’t even love you! What does that say about you? Open your eyes Kiyan! You are what is wrong with this world and I was born to destroy you. All you are is a human who fucked up too many times to be redeemable. I was born of a star! I am perfection!
The words took Kiyan back, in all of their immortal life they had never heard Akhil speak like this. His words cut through Kiyan, breaking what little hope they had.
Unlovable
Mistake
Screw Up
Why were you even made?
Nuisance
Pariah
“Fine. You want me to be the bad guy? I’ll be the fucking bad guy. But I want you to remember one thing Akhil, this,” Kiyan motioned to themself, the hurt and pain evident in their features, “Is all your fault. At the end of the day YOU are the villain in this story.”
Kiyan stormed away from the burning wreckage, leaving a fuming Akhil amidst the flames.
In the beginning of time the universe created two people.
One was born from the dust of the earth, The other born from the dust of the stars.
One bore a mark of chaos and fear, one bore the mark of perfection.
The universe placed them on the earth so as to keep the balance between the humans of the earth.
“Your name shall be Kiyan. You will bear the mark of chaos and keep the balance of perfection and chaos. You are not the hero of the story and you may be cast out by the humans of earth. But you will keep the balance and you shall find your purpose. Know now that you were chosen by us, the universe, to serve and to be what the world needs.”
