Chapter Text
It's a crisp morning in the tundra. Winter nips harshly whenever wind gusts through the spruces, but beyond that, the air is incredibly still, as if waiting for something. The earliest of birds chirp their songs. Stars twinkle above in the lavender sky, dawn just barely cutting through. One star in particular is brighter than the others, and it becomes apparent that, very quickly, this star is not like the other ones.
It keeps growing bigger and bigger, until eventually, it eclipses the moon in magnitude. The sky suddenly cracks and fizzes energetically, and a sharper breeze shakes the tops of the trees. The "star," what appears now to be some sort of alien carrier, is plummeting and searing the sky in it's wake, the dreadful shearing of metal against a thick atmosphere cutting through loudly in the morning air.
Just as quickly as the star had appeared, it crashes into a huddle of spruces, the immense trees violently torn form their roots and splitting dramatically. The trees closest to the crash site were set aflame, if not smoking.
The sudden disruption forces the forest in a tense, shocked quiet. Nothing stirs for several hours, terrified to break the silence the carrier brought. Suddenly, a hatch from the carrier's rear splits loudly, and something is limping out, gasping, back panels flaring. It calls loudly back inside the carrier, in a language largely unrecognizable on this world. Something replies back, almost relieved, but remains inside. The figure slumps against the carrier, looking up at the sky.
Birds return their songs cautiously. The wind returns, taking out the flames on what remains of the charred trees. The true stars begin to wink out as the sun creeps closer to the horizon.
A new journey begins.
