"I feel like dying" || Idia Shroud x Reader

Summary:

You felt hurt. Betrayed. After all you've done for them, you heard the things you never normally hear them say when in front of you. So you turn to none other than your partner, Idia. Well, he tries his best.

I had a good day, until I didn't. So I made this self-indulgent fic to ease my mind, hopefully you will too :D

Work Text:

"I feel like dying."

"You don't mean that." Idia said as he gently stroked your back, cradling you around his lap. His cold, slender fingers massaging your shaking form as he let the tears from your shimmering eyes stain his cotton jacket, "If you die right now, what of your high scores?" He asked, twirling strands of your hair as he continued, "What about the things you've put all your might and heart into?" You couldn't reply. The things you've put your might and heart into? What's the point? You'll die anyways, right? Everything. Everything will be gone anyways.

"But they're already gone, aren't they?" You took a shaky breath, trying to calm your shivering, pathetic form, "I became their shoulder when they needed it. I became the pillar that supported their trembling bodies as they break down in tears. And what do I get in return?" You looked up at him, "They're the ones I've put my might and heart into. So why am I the villain here?" Idia only looked at you. He was troubled. His broad furrowed in both contemplation and mild uneasiness. His brain tries to strategize and come up with a plan on what he could do next to comfort you. But all endings of every choices are all the same. You, hurting. Sobbing unendlessly as your shattered heart mourned for the betrayal you felt.

Idia gently took you by the cheeks, making you look up to him with your glossy eyes. Oh, how can one affect him so much with just tears? He hated it. He hated seeing you cry. His partner, his love, his everything. The way your little whimpers and small hiccups made his soul sink at the bottom of the underworld, ".... Actually..." He began, you looked at him teary-eyed while you held his much bigger hands that holds your cheeks, "They're terrible people for betraying and shattering your trust for them. I low-key want to leak their IP address for that." You sobbed at that, though giving him a small smile for trying his best to cheer you up, "But now that they've revealed their true colors, I'm glad they did it now." He shushed your lips as he pouted, "L-let me finish, man... I really don't like seeing you cry." Idia sighed. You were about to make a comment, but he continued, "Because if they kept leading you on, and kept on using your trust for their own benefit, it'll make the pain and hurt you're feeling much, much worse." He finished.

Idia was right though. Now that you've finally knew who they truly are, and what their intentions were to you, you saved yourself the trouble from getting out of that circle before it's too late. You took a deep, deep breath, deciding to relax your entire body and put all of your weight unto Idia. He took notice of this and gave you a kiss on top of your head, petting that spot afterwards as his arms pulled you closer. Your entire face buried at the comfort of his jacket, although a bit wet, it didn't bother you one bit. Your half-lidded eyes watching the beauty Idia's hair holds. How it flows oh so gently, enveloping your tired form as it acts like a blanket. His flaming blue hair emitting warmth that it brought the love you crave at the moment, forgetting the reason why you were even crying in the first place.

"Have you always been this good at comforting?" You asked, this has been the first time you've ever cried in a while. You couldn't even remember when is the last time you cried. Especially to Idia, this has been the first time he's ever seen you cry. How vulnerable and defenseless you were when he saw you at the door, "Oh hell no, I didn't even knew what I was doing." He replied as fast as a lightning. You snorted then giggled at that, your body moving along with the way you laugh. Idia felt himself relax at that. He's never felt so comfortable having someone initiate physical contact him, much less lay on top of him! Idia laughed alongside you, his sharp, razor teeth showing.

The two of you finally settled down, your cheeks being smooshed against his chest, Idia setting his head on the soft pillows as he focused on your breathing, synchronizing his own to match yours. Both of you didn't say anything after your little laughing session, just enjoying the warmth of one another and the serenity Idia's room is emitting.

As Idia continued to bask in the moment, he noticed how your breathing started to slow down. He gently moved to take a peek on your face. Ah, you are asleep. With a smile and a sigh, he went back to his position, his arms supporting you as they give you a sense of security and protection, his eyelids slowly getting heavy, trying to fight back the urge to sleep. But alas, sleep has also consumed Idia. But not before uttering the words in his sleep,

"M'gonna take a look at their government files later...."
