after the defeat of scaramouche as the "shouki no kami", things have been pretty different.
nahida had suggested that him and lumine stay together so lumine could keep him in check and be a good example, but that wasnt really working.
scaramouche was distant. like they were trying to avoid lumine.
not only that, he was acting rude towards her.
at this point, lumine had had enough. she had to comfront them about it.

lumine had brought scara on an adventure with her, to keep an eye on him, of course. as the sun began to set and they returned to camp, lumine finally got the chance to talk to scara.
"wanderer." lumine spoke.
silence. of course, what was she expecting? of course he would ignore her, he always does.
"wanderer."
still silence. they really didnt want to speak, huh?
"dont ignore me."
"what do you want?" the puppet finally spoke.
"finally.. uhm.. youve been ignoring me—" lumine tried to speak, before getting interupted.
"why do *you* care so much?"
"because nahida wanted me to take care of you—" it didnt take long before she was interupted again.
"thats right.. you dont care about me. youre here because nahida told you to be."
"now where did you get that idea?"
"we both know it's true."
it wasnt. it definetely wasnt.
"no it isnt."
"then why do you care so much about me?" scara questioned.
lumine really had no response to that question. there really was no explanation.
"i just do."
"liar."
"why do you think im lying?"
silence again. it was the same, no response.
"..youre gonna abandon me. just like everyone else did.."
if he had the ability to cry, he would right now.
"no im not. i wont leave you."
a slight pause.
"you won't leave me.. you promise?"
"i promise."
"..." scara stayed silent for some time. 'these damned human emotions' he thought. "..can you hug me?"
it was an odd request, especially from scara. but who was lumine to decline it?
she opened up her arms, and scara crawled right in.
if they had a heart, it would be beating fast right now.
"can you say that you wont leave me again..?"
"i wont leave you, wanderer."
"..again, please.."
"i wont abandon you. ever." she gave them a small peck on their cheek.
if they had blood, his face would be as red as a tomato.
"im sorry, i shouldve asked before i did that." lumine apologized.
"no.. its okay.."
a small pause
"can you.. do it again?"
"sure."
she gently kissed his cheek again.
"feels nice.. dont get used to this behavior."
ah, looks like the good ol' wanderers back.
"dont worry, i wont.."
