Lately, Tsubaki had been feeling very uneasy. Not because her life is in danger, but because of a blonde who had been a constant presence in her life lately.
Not that she disliked the girl's presence. It was just that it often made her feel wrong. Ever since that night, she couldn't forget every time she saw Rinku's face.
Today was no different, but this time, they made an appointment to meet on Sunday. Rinku said she would treat Tsubaki to an ice cream in front of the station that had just opened a few days ago.
There was no reason to refuse her invitation, so Tsubaki agreed.
The day came when they made an appointment to hang out. For some reason, she arrived 30 minutes earlier than the promised time. And also, she wasn't wearing her usual dark-themed outfit. She was currently wearing a brightly colored knee-length one piece dress, and her hair was left loose.
O-of course I'm wearing this so as not to be too conspicuous when walking with Aimoto-san later. There's no other reason, there isn't. She thought.
But still, the pounding heart she felt could not lie to her. She didn't want to admit that she was looking forward to their hangout.
However, she was suddenly fell silent when she saw a face she knew well, and one she desperately wanted to forget.
That person then approached Tsubaki. She looked friendly at first. However, over time she began to reveal her true nature. She started cursing Tsubaki, saying that she had no right to wear such cute clothes, because she didn't fit in at all.
Tsubaki was about to reach her limit and burst into tears, when a slap came from in front of her.
Opening her eyes, she immediately saw Rinku who somehow looked very cool and shining in her eyes.
Like a prince on a white horse.
"Quickly apologize to Tsubaki-chan,"
"Tch, who are you little girl. And what's your relationship with Tsubaki?"
"I'm her girlfriend, so what?" Rinku said with a sharp gaze.
"Heh, it turns out that people like you still dare to date other people huh. I will give you an advice little girl, break up on that person or you will regret it,"
"I won't, because I know her better than you,"
"Tch, do as you please," she said and left the place.
"What the hell is wrong with that girl, just bothering others. Are you okay Tsubaki-chan?"
"I'm fine Aimoto-san. U-umm, can we get out of here?" she said seemingly trying to hold back her embarrassment.
"Ah right, let's go to that store before my mood gets worse. Let's go," Rinku said as she pulled Tsubaki's hand while sending her a smile.
Upon their arrival, they immediately ordered the ice cream. Tsubaki was made to blush because of Rinku's behavior, such as making her try her ice cream or because their hands touched accidentally, and so on.
Throughout this time, they chatted about many things, from their daily lives, their future concert plans, to even talking about Rinku's future; where she wanted to go after graduation.
In the middle of their fun conversation, Rinku suddenly glared at Tsubaki from top to bottom, making her feel embarrassed.
"W-what's wrong Aimoto-san?"
Realizing what she was doing, she quickly moved away and waved her hands. "Ah, no, it's just that I didn't have time to say this earlier because of the incident just now.
"The clothes you're wearing today are perfect Tsubaki-chan, you look even cuter," and just like that a surprise attack was launched by Rinku, making Tsubaki even more embarassed.
"Bu-but a lot of people say that I don't look good in these clothes,"
"Eh? Not really. It's true that your usual style looks very cool, but your current style also looks very suitable. I like you in any outfit, hehe,"
"Li-like?" said Tsubaki in surprise, instantly making her remember what Rinku had said earlier and what she had said last night.
"U-umm," Tsubaki hesitated to ask, making her look uneasy.
"Do you have anything to say Tsubaki-chan? Just say it, I'm all ears."
"Is...what you said earlier true?"
"Earlier?"
"A-about you claiming to be my g-girlfriend,"
This time it was Rinku's turn to blush and misbehave. She was so overcome with emotion that she didn't realize she was indirectly telling her feelings.
"Th-that's what I said in the spur of moment. So, can you please forget it?"
"I DON'T WANT TO," Tsubaki suddenly shouted and stood up from the spot. However, since she attracted the attention of many people, she immediately calmed down and sat back down.
"Aimoto-san, to be honest, only when I'm with you, I can feel a wide range of emotions. An overwhelming feeling of joy, an incomparable feeling of comfort, a feeling of wanting to protect and various other feelings that I can't describe in words," she looked deeply into Rinku's eyes.
"And when you helped me earlier, you looked so cool, like a knight saving her princess. And when you told me you were my girlfriend, it made me so happy that I forgot why I was sad," she continued.
"So-so you mean...,"
"If-if it's possible, I'd like...us to be real girlfriends," Tsubaki said, turning her face that had clearly turned as red as a tomato.
Unable to contain her happiness, Rinku suddenly stood up, "HAPPY AROUND," and shouted her catchphrase.
"Aimoto-san,"
"Nope. From now on, call me Rinku, Tsubaki-chan."
"Ye-yes. Rinku...san,"
The day was spent with them holding hands.
