Work Text:

Kohane steps close to Weekend Garage’s exit, practice is finally over. It was late out, the only source of light filling up the streets were from the buildings nearby. As she takes a few more steps, she holds her hand out to see how much rain was pouring down. Kohane notices a couple of drops quickly land on her skin. Kohane expected this, as the weather forecast called it a drizzle at first but throughout practice the noises of raindrops hitting the windows were too distracting to ignore. Kohane grabs her umbrella, a hamster themed umbrella that An had got her two months ago. She smiles, the simple thought of An made her heart skip a beat.

Kohane walks outside Weekend garage, turning her back from the live bar and glancing at the recently formed puddles of rain. As she walks, she thinks about her unit and the performance coming up in the next 3 days. Will she be okay? It was a larger crowd than usual, the idea of making a mistake in front of everyone leaves her sick. Kohane will not fail! Kohane will sing! She can do this. Repeat the words An told her!

Lost in her thoughts, Kohane hears her name being called in a way that was familiar to the blonde but she couldn’t quite put a finger on it. Kohane looks back, she swore she caught a glimpse of black and blue. Maybe her mind was tricking her? Did practice drain her energy so much to the point where she’s hearing things? She was going to continue walking until she heard her name being called again, but clearer this time.

“Kohaneeeeee!” A mysterious voice hollered.

“Huh?” Kohane looks back, squinting as she attempts to figure out where the source of the voice was amidst the fog that was created from the downpour.

“There you areee!” An screamed, she put her arms on her knees as she was panting. She has her hood on, a sight that was rare. An barely puts her hood up, but no matter what she does or changes about her appearance she never fails to impress Kohane with her looks.

“I’ve been calling your name for like-! Um- 2 minutes!!” An whined, she put her hands on her hips and pouted.

“S-sorry! I wasn’t paying attention! What did you need, An?” Kohane said, she turned her back fully to face An.

“Let’s dance in the rain, Kohane!” An happily beamed.

Kohane hesitated, she was trying to find a nice way to reject An due to her fear of catching an illness.

“Pleaaaase~?” An looked at Kohane with puppy eyes, no one could ever refuse that face.

“Sure, but what abou-” Kohane let out a surprised shriek when An grabbed her hand making the blonde drop her hamster themed umbrella as she was dragged onto the street.

“A-an! Wait!” Kohane could feel specks of water drop down her shoulders. An swung her arm around Kohane’s waist, and held her hand. Kohane hesitantly placed her arm around An’s neck.

“Haha! Kohane, you should have some fun once in a while, you know?” An yelled, her shoes sinking in some puddles yet she didn’t care.

“Eek! An! My socks are wet!” Kohane panics. These are her favorite ducky socks! She can’t afford to let them be ruined!

“You can just wait for them to dry later! *gasp* Kohane! Look at this cute worm!” An looks around, observing things like a curious child as she holds Kohane close.

“Um! An-chan! I don’t really know how to dance, are you su-” Kohane lets out a surprised screech when An dips her, holding Kohane close, making sure that Kohane doesn’t fall. Kohane diverts her attention to the wet, shiny, rock ground. Heat rises up to her cheeks, blending in with the cool dots of water that previously landed on her face. An moves Kohane up again, to face her, only to accidentally step on Kohanes foot.

“Ahh!” They both scream.

The two crash on the ground, An on top of Kohane, leaving them in an awkward position with their legs tangled. The awkward silence filled the atmosphere for approximately 10 seconds before the pair erupt into laughter and uncontrollable giggles.

“Kohane! Haha, you should learn to dance with- *wheeze* me sometime!” An says in between sniffles and chuckles.

“Hehe! An-chaaaan!” Kohane whined, trying to catch their breath.

The laughter quickly dies down a minute later, An looks up and makes eye contact with Kohane. Kohane takes this as a chance to stare deep into An’s amber eyes. Were they this bright? She’s already used to the sound of the rain, it was no longer noisy. An opens her mouth, presumably to say something, but she closes it before digging her head in Kohanes chest.

“Nee, Kohane..” An mutters. She was clearly exhausted from all the laughing and practice today. The group had a big performance in 3 days.

“Hm?” Kohane makes a noise of affirmation, confirming she was still awake. Kohane felt worn out. She wanted to stay in this position for a little longer.

An mumbles something that was blocked out because of the fabric that she had stuffed her face into. Kohane knew An was attempting to speak because her chest would vibrate a little.

“Um, An, repeat that?” Kohane spoke.

An reluctantly lifts her head from Kohanes chest.

“I love you.” An mouthed. It was barely audible considering their surroundings.

An’s eyes are glossy, It didn’t look like it was from the rain. She was probably anticipating a response from Kohane. Kohane’s heart was about to boom out of her chest, she’s shaking. Not only from the cold but from pure happiness.

Her feelings were requited.

“An-chan… I-.. love you too…” Kohane murmured. Her words were getting quieter by the second.

The moment those words slipped out of her mouth were the moments An’s eyes would widen as she takes Kohane’s hands and places them on her chest.

“R-Really!? Like seriously!? 100%!? Y-you-.. You love me..back?” An seemed to be at a loss of words, this being another rare sight.

If this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up.

“Yes! I love you, An!” Kohane yells back in excitement. Who wouldn’t be excited?

An’s smile reaches up to her ears, she nuzzles her face in Kohane’s neck. Her nose was cold and it tickled a bit, but Kohane didn’t mind. Kohane gladly embraces the other and closes her eyes. This was the best outcome she could’ve ever asked for.

“Hammyyyy..” An groans. “I’m coooold..”

“An, of course you’re cold! We’ve been out here for-.. Umm.. Probably more than an hour! We’re going to get sick!” Kohane says. The realization of her precious hamster umbrella and her favorite ducky socks started to kick in. She's so going to get in trouble for this.. But it didn’t matter. Atleast, not right now. The hamster umbrella, ducky socks, her clothes, a potential sickness, that can all wait. Kohane wouldn’t trade the world for this moment. It was as if they were the only two people alive on earth.

She was safe. Holding An close in a tight embrace. She doesn’t want to leave. Nor does An.

“Buuuut! I don’t wanna leaveee… I’m comfy!” An complains, as if she was a middle-schooler that didn’t want to get up from school. Kohane could feel her mouth turn into a pout.

“An-chan! Hmph.. You’re lucky it’s Friday!” Kohane responds. What a grumpy An..

There was silence for a few seconds, until she felt An move from her current position to look at Kohane.

“Kohane.. Can I kiss you?” An’s words almost came out as a whisper.

Kohane simply gave a slow nod. An leaned closer, and their lips met.

This was like a dream come true, from laughing and dancing to.. This. An was like an angel sent from heaven, the biggest miracle that has ever happened to Kohane. No matter how corny that sounds, it’s the truth. No one will beat An in Kohane’s list.

An pulls away, she looks red and messy. Her hair is considerably soaked. Some of the water from her hair dripping onto Kohane’s face. Some of her hair strands were sticking out. An looks like she had just got out of the shower.

Kohane caresses An’s cheeks, moving a couple of strands behind her ear before leaning to leave a peck on her forehead. An grins, a grin that was wider than usual. The two had a smile that never once left their faces. Kohane’s cheeks hurt from smiling so much, but she couldn’t help it.

“An-chan, let’s go home.”

But there wasn’t a need to return home.

Because this was home.
