Work Text:
It almost fully stopped snowing, only the last snowflakes were falling down from the clearing up sky.
A black-haired boy kept looking through out the window of his house in anticipation.
Just for a short second he turned to look at the clock hanging on one of the walls. Seeing what time it is he felt his heart beat a bit faster in excitement. "Just a little more" he thought.
After a few minutes he saw a silhouette of a boy that he would recognize no matter what. He opened the window wider and standing on his toes leaned outside. He was a rather calm person who didn't liked to scream so he just said louder than usual hoping that the person he is calling will hear him - Ollie hyung.
A boy whose name was just called lifted his head and looked up then smiled - Yujinnie! - he answered waving his hand and his smile widened. Yujin smiled back and at the sight of it Ollie's gaze softened. For a few seconds they just standed there happily waving to each other. Then the younger boy stood up and went to make sure the door of his house aren't locked. He eventually opened them and waited in front of them looking at the other boy. The taller one seeing him stand there started going faster and faster and finally when they were quite close he runned as to shorten the distance between them even faster.
First thing the taller boy did was hugging the black-haired one. He in answer hugged him back with one hand. It was rather could so he rushed his guest to come inside. And so they did.
They started taking off their jackets and shoes while talking a lot.
They usually met twice a week but Yujin couldn't help looking through out his window at least once every day in a slight hope of seeing his friend by chance. Although they didn't had much similarity when it comes to their personalities they were close in age and shared some interests so they got along really well. And black-haired boy felt comfortable spending time with Ollie so he was always excited when the time for them to meet was coming.
They weren't really doing anything special. Usually just played cards, board and video games or watched movies but most of the time they danced together, sometimes singed. But the time they spended together always felt so precious to both of them.
- So what do you want to do today? - Ollie asked when they were finally sitting down in Yujin's room.
Before the younger boy could even analyze the question and answer aloud his lips already mouthed the words "let's dance".
Taller boy pretended to sigh - is dancing all that's on your mind? - but he did not waited for a reply. He grabbed his friend's hand and took him to the room they usually used to practice since there were nicely placed mirrors there.
- Let's do a dance battle - Ollie said doing a little jumps.
So they turned on a random playlist and started freestyle dancing. But instead of checking their own moves they kept on observing each other's movements in the mirror.
Yujin's moves were detailed and sharp. In comparision Ollie's were softer but with an additional unique charm to them. One would think their dancing styles don't suit each other but they actually looked great performing together.
Yujin knew that the other boy agreed on dancing without complaining because he knew how much the younger loves to dance and also loved watching him do so he wanted to do something Ollie would enjoy even more in return. He went to his phone and played a beat - how about a freestyle rap?
The older boy agreed and soon after getting into the right mood started rapping. At first Yujin just listened to him smiling but after a moment decided to do a freestyle dancing that would express his friend's rap. They were getting more and more absorbed in their creations. So they kept spending time like this using a lot of different beats and had so much fun that Ollie's words sometimes didn't made any sense, he was just saying whatever to keep the thing going and both of them laughed a lot every time it happened.
When it was already dark they finally layed down on the carpet feeling exhausted. But despite their tiredness they felt happy and relaxed. They took a moment without saying anything to catch their breaths. After resting they talked about whatever came to their mind not wanting to part ways just yet. Unfortunately it was already late so soon after they had to.
Yujin wanted to walk Ollie home but the older boy refused. However the younger insisted. It felt unfair to him that the taller boy is almost always the one who comes to his house on his own and leaves alone as well. And of course he also wanted to spend a bit more time with his friend even if it's not much.
In the end they agreed that the younger boy will go with Ollie just to the end of the street his house was located on and then fastly go back home. Their age difference might not have been big but as the older one Ollie always tried to take care of Yujin as much as he could in the most subtle ways possible. So he was worried thinking about his friend being outside alone at this hour. Maybe Yujin wasn't a little kid anymore, but he was popular and you never know what ideas can come to people's mind.
When they reached the end of the street Yujin stopped. His heart always felt heavy when he had to part ways with Ollie even if he knew that they'll meet again in just a few days. But he kept their agreement and after saying goodbye to each other and then for a short moment looking at the receding back of his friend he went back to his home in a rather fast pace.
After coming inside he realized that he forgot to turn off the light in his practice room. So he went inside with the intention of doing it now but when he looked at the mirror he changed his plans. This time without any music he tried to dance in the same way Ollie does. Although Yujin was proud of his dancing he also admired the way the older boy executed his moves so he wanted to get the feeling of it.
Not much time passed and he heard his phone ringing. He checked the display and a small smile appeared at his face. Ollie and Gyuvin were inviting him to a group chat. So he went to his bedroom, this time remembering to turn of the lights in the previous room he was in, and after placing himself comfortably on the bed he accepted the call with a wide smile slowly appearing on his face.
