StrayKids was home in between tour dates but the time was too short for them to visit their families so they just had a movie night at the 3racha dorm.
Minho and Felix had made snacks which disappeared rather quickly so Hyunjin made vegetable pancakes. He always made sure to have pancake mix in storage for these days that the entire pack was together. They ate like literal wolves especially the alphas but then again they also worked the hardest on their music and Chan made sure every aspect of their career flowed smoothly.
Felix was snuggled into Changbin his side and the gentle alpha carded his fingers through his hair. Felix was such a sweet cuddle bug and he didn’t mind being his pillow. He adored the little omega who was literally the human form of sunshine. “Can I sleep over in your room?” Felix blinked innocently at him and Changbin couldn’t help but smile at his cuteness. He definitely was a little cat when he wanted something and who was he to deny him that? He knew that he didn’t want anyone but Felix as his future mate but now they were still young and still climbing on the ladder of their career.
While Chan and pack were all warm and snuggly in their apartment, Jeongguk was cold and alone in his suddenly too big apartment. Taehyung and Jimin had schedules, Hoseok was finishing up things for his enlistment, Yoongi went out with the children and Qing Yi while Namjoon was overseas. He felt cold and lonely as he thought of the warmth of his pack and felt a tear slip. Bam was not home to comfort him, his parents were in Busan and would just worry and he didn’t want to disturb his noona or hyung. Seventeen was busy so he couldn’t bother them either. Staff was busy and couldn’t let him go on weverse live so that didn’t help either.
He didn’t feel like going out to a public place, the transitional medication to full omega made him lethargic and even more sensitive to scents than usual. He decided to film himself dancing 143 and superboard and send it in the ‘97 group chat.
Chan almost immediately reacted telling him he was really cool doing the dances and dance teacher Minho also approved.
Jeongguk was confused for a moment when Chan face timed him through private chat and asked him what he was doing in which the bunny smile one replied quietly that he was just home as usual. His pack was busy so he didn’t want to disturb anyone to hang out.
Chan told him that he would send Changbin, Jisung and Felix to pick him up to join them for movie night and didn’t want to hear any protests.
“His eyes were sad while smiling and dancing” Hyunjin observed. “Is it because you can’t see an omega sad that you invited him, hyung?”
Chan nodded in agreement with the first part but corrected him gently that no one deserved to be lonely and friends had to reach out.
Jeongguk was surprised and a bit confused when the smiley alpha and omega came to get him right at his doorstep. Weren’t they afraid to be caught and hear bad rumors? Not even his own pack except for Taehyung picked him up at the door.
Jeongguk was about a head taller than the alpha but he felt tiny next to him as he confidently yet gently guided him to the parking lot. He was even more surprised seeing the short but buff alpha waiting behind the wheel for them to get in.
Felix cheerfully chatted and the recently turned omega felt his heart warm up at the sight of the sweet bright smile. It reminded him of Jimin’s smile when they were younger. They had the same tiny hands and sparkling kitty eyes and the same warmth that drew people in naturally. Now he missed his hyung again. Changbin reminded him of Yoongi, the same gentleness and naturally cute face and an energy that radiated safety, warmth and reliability.
Changbin noticed the change in scent immediately and he felt bad for the older one. He was still in the transition and so he was hyper sensitive and emotional. His hormones were probably all over the place and he didn’t even realize it. He shouldn’t have been left alone until he was fully settled in his omega self with his hormones balanced.
Jisung tried to take his thoughts off and asked Jeongguk about his GCF and his production skills. He enthusiastically told him about 3racha’s production methods and the craziness that sometimes happened in the studio.
Jeongguk shyly gave some replies, he wasn’t very familiar with these 3 members. He knew Chan, Minho and Hyunjin and of course Jeongin because he and Beomgyu were tied to the hip.
At the dorm he was immediately received with wamth and enthusiasm. Minho gently ushered him in and told him there was a pile of pajeon and gamjajeon just out of the pan as well as pork belly and soju.
This reminded Jeongguk of Yoongi his motherly affection and always making food and it was too much for him. His eyes filled with tears which he tried to hide but failed miserably.
Minho looked worried at him and quietly told Hyunjin to get a glass of water while he gently rubbed Jeongguk’s back. He knew as no other how sensitive the older one was and how he was always babied by his hyungs and loved basking in their love and attention.
Chan quickly stepped in, knowing his friend needed grounding so he pulled him in a gentle hug while releasing calming pheromones and patted him rhythmically on his back.
This seemed to help Jeongguk calm down and his scent turned less distressed. His breathing also evened out and his entire posture relaxed.
“Are you feeling better? Do you want me to call Namjoon hyung for you?”
The BTS maknae shook his head, “S… busy… n… dis...turb…” his eyes were glassy and puffy at this point and he looked nowhere near the confident performer everyone knew.
Everyone looked alarmed because he was showing clear signs of slipping into deep omegan head space and that was dangerous if he wasn’t in a safe controlled environment.
Minho didn’t hesitate to dial Hoseok his number to ask what to do because it was unethical to handle on their own without a pack alpha’s consent or the pack omega but both were unavailable so Hoseok was second in command.
“Minho ya” Hoseok greeted him warmly as usual. “What a surprise call!”
“Hyung, my apologies for disturbing” Minho started, ever so calm and collected despite his worry for his omega hyung.
“No need” Hoseok waved it away, “I was having a meeting break anyways. What can I do for you?” “Hyung, Jeongguk hyung is with us” Minho carefully explained and narrated everything from the videos up until now and asked if he would be available to come over.
The omega heard his senior take a sharp breath, most likely startled by the news so he gently asked if he wanted to be on speakerphone so he could talk to Jeongguk.
“Jeonggukie, our cute Jeonggukie” Hoseok cooed and the maknae his head snapped up, searching for the voice.
“Jaykay” Hoseok playfully called. “It’s all good, little one. You are safe and cared for. Minho and Chan love you just as much as we love you. You are such a sweet bunny. They are safe people so let them take care of you ok? Hyungie will try to come to you as fast as I can. I love you so much, little one. We didn’t abandon you okay? You are the best maknae in the world.”
Jeongguk only replied with a tiny “ok hyung” before letting out tiny whining noises, signaling he was still not himself yet.
After the phone call, Minho settled on the couch with the much bigger omega and let him bury his face in his neck while he let out soothing pheromones and made calming noises. He softly patted his back while Chan leaned against the couch and released his alpha scent just enough to wrap around Minho’s scent. This was to make the distressed omega feel he was safe and loved by pack omega and alpha. He motioned the others to just continue their usual things and Changbin took the lead to distract them by begging Hyunjin for kisses in which the omega laughingly pushed him away and he dramatically fell over.
This gave the younger ones a chance to use him as a bench and he started whining at the torture. Surely he could push them off or order them to get off, but he was too gentle for that.
Chan watched them fondly and made a mental note to make sure all of the kids and Minho would be okay even if they had to go one by one to do their duty. He was definitely not criticizing the way Namjoon led his pack but he definitely didn’t think it had been the right choice to leave their transitioning omega alone for such long periods of time. Jeongguk was a dear friend regardless of his secondary gender and he didn’t like seeing him so upset.
Hyunjin decided to have mercy on his hyung and got up to grab a pajeon with a piece of pork belly on it and brought it closer to Jeongguk. “Koo hyungie, do you want food?”
Minho smiled and gently maneuvered the other omega so he faced Hyunjin and he immediately opened his mouth without bothering to open his eyes and eagerly chewed.
It took some food and banana milk for him to revive a bit but he was still in his omega space, sticking to Hyunjin and Minho which no one minded but Chan was worried about him having perhaps skipped his medication or still needed to take it for the night so he resolutely dialed Jimin his number since he still hadn’t from Taehyung.
Jimin picked up rather surprised and a bit worried thinking it was about Qing Yi or Eun Young but he was even more surprised and worried it was about Jeongguk and listened to Chan his concerns. He told him he wasn’t aware of Jeongguk his medications and he would have to ask Taehyung. He then asked to talk to Jeongguk so Chan put it on speakerphone so they could talk. Jimin kept his voice soft and sweet as he coaxed answers out of his maknae and promised to visit him soon.
Jeongin approached their guest and looked cutely at him, “hyung, can you tell the others that I am always sweet and behaved?”
Jeongguk blinked at him for a moment and tried to remember the times at the dorm with all of them laughing and playing around. “You were never rude or lazy… you always volunteered to clean up after playing and even put our shoes away when they were everywhere.”
The guest looked confused when Hyunjin let out a dramatic screech that he shouldn’t describe such a fairytale image of Jeongin but Jeongguk was confused and told him that Jeongin was really sweet and docile with them. “Jin hyung even said that Chan and Minho raised him so well.”
“An alien definitely replaced our Jeongin whenever he was with the Bangtan pack” Minho concluded. “Jin hyung his words are flattering but this savage messy little brat…” he playfully tackled his maknae and slapped his butt.
“Chan hyung!” Jeongin cried out and reached for his pack alpha. “Minho hyung is trying to kill me!” He managed to escape and went in between Jeongguk and Chan. “I will ask Namjoon hyung nim to adopt me! He believes I am sweet!”
Felix mercilessly dragged him onto the ground again and literally sprawled himself over the maknae telling him he was not going anywhere and Hyunjin agreed, affectionately calling him baby bread and pinched his cheeks. “You are our annoying boss baby.”
Jeongguk watched them quietly. He wanted to be showered in affection by his hyungs again too and roll over the ground with them or just get onto Jin’s lap. “I am golden maknae” he said, sad and quiet, borderline whiny that it broke Chan and Minho their hearts.
“How about you be part of the maknae line for today?” Seungmin suggested. “We could always use backup against the oldies.”
Jeongguk gave a tiny nod and let him get pulled to the ground by Seungmin to join Jeongin and Felix.
“Okay first things first, Changbin hyung is the easiest to get things done. As long as you are cute he will do anything for you. Jisung wants to be a hyunjinnie’s hyung so bad so let him belong to the old ones and Minho hyung will feed whenever you are hungry and doesn’t care about the money. Hyunjin will take endless pictures of you and let you pose for his drawings. Chan hyung lets you get away with anything that isn’t a true crime and even if you did something wrong, he will never yell at you.”
Jeongguk tried to remember everything and nodded cutely. He gratefully accepted Changbin feeding him and Minho wiping his mouth. It was so easy to just allow his true nature as the youngest to surface.
The alphas took turns feeding him and Minho played with his hair while the younger omegas and Seungmin tried to make him laugh and included him in their antics to rile up the three eldest members.
It had to be close to 3 AM and some members fell asleep. Jeongguk had fallen asleep too, cuddled up with Felix who was all too happy to have someone who loved cuddling as much as he did.
Hoseok texted Chan that he had arrived to pick up Jeongguk so Chan got up to let him in while Minho went to the kitchen to make tea for Hoseok and bake some pancakes from the leftover batter.
Hoseok his heart broke seeing his maknae sleeping between the other children. He looked so small and vulnerable and he could still smell the sadness lingering onto him.
He gently knelt down by him while Chan detangled Felix from their guest and carried him over to Jisung who was also asleep.
Hoseok then remembered something and told Chan he mailed him the list with Jeongguk his medications and the times he needed to take them. “I was in charge of their medications,” he explained. “Namjoon was in charge of their human health while I took care of their wolf health.”
Jeongguk seemed to have smelled his hyung and blinked at him before diving in and burying his face in Hoseok’s neck but retracted again, wrinkling his nose in irritation. Hoseok knew he had too many scents on him and the omega was very sensitive to that but before Jeongguk could really get upset, Chan gently let him scent him and released calming pheromones.
Hoseok was grateful for the warm tea and the pancakes, praising Minho’s kitchen abilities. “Tastes just like from Yoongi hyung.”
Chan laughed and told him Minho still uses whatever Yoongi taught him when he was still their dancer and passed it onto Felix and Hyunjin.
Minho quietly gave Hoseok some wipes to neutralize his scent and offered him a sleeping bag in case he was too tired to drive back home but he assured the omega that he took a few naps in between so he was still fresh.
Hoseok tried to wake up the omega because he couldn’t carry him to the car but Chan quickly told him to let him sleep and picked up the sleeping omega. “Just lead the way, hyung. He didn’t take any medicines while with us so I assume had taken them at home already.”
Hoseok nodded in gratitude, “I will treat your pack to a meal when we all have some time. You took care of our little jeongguk despite having little free time.”
Chan waved it away and told him that packs needed to look out for each other. “I know your pack is much more modern and individuality is the center of it but mine still does many things traditional and reaching out to others even outside the pack is what we do. After all, it takes a village to raise a child.”
Hoseok smiled warmly as Chan put Jeongguk in the car and made him as comfortable as possible. The younger was an amazing group leader and pack alpha, everything just screamed caring in his actions.
Hoseok brought Jeongguk to his and Yoongi’s home where his mate was already waiting. His sweet mate always waited up for him no matter what time he came home.
He did his best to hoist the maknae onto his back and carried him inside straight to his and Yoongi’s bed where he put him down.
The second eldest omega got into bed without a word and pulled the younger omega against his chest and smiled when he let out a blissful sigh and clung like a koala to his hyung.
The Stray Kids pack were by now in a deep slumber all over the livingroom. Felix cuddled into Changbin together with Seungmin while Jisung cuddled with Jeongin and Chan fell asleep with Minho pressed against him like the little spoon.
Before the pack alpha fell asleep, he looked at his pack members and made a silent promise to never let them feel they had to go through things alone because he would never leave them.
