Work Text:

Brian Epstein picks up the teacup and gives it a swirl before taking a sip. Every movement is elegant and graceful, with no room left for hesitation or doubt. This is all second nature to him, maybe even first. There are rich people surrounding him, talking static out their perfectly painted lips. This is not where Brian thrives, but it is certainly where he lives. He even breathes in time with the rhythm of the ballroom dancers- in and out as they spiral apart and onto the next partner.

Of course, George Martin knows the man is merely presenting a façade. Brian’s all polite smiles and even politer chuckles until the two are alone. Then, and nearly only then, Brian is curses and swears and angry rants and messy accidents and tears and deep, dark secrets whispered in the deep, dark night. It’s incredibly romantic, really. To be a man’s escape! To be his vacation from the suffocating society surrounding him! To know neither of you have loved anyone like you love each other!

George and Brian share a look across the floor and are leaving minutes later.

Their flat is like an oasis. Maybe it’s because of all the time they have spent in it, together, in love, but the damn thing oozes with warmth and coziness. The two (mostly Brian, but George will admit he isn’t completely innocent) have splurged to make sure every pillow and blanket are impossibly soft and comfortable. “You could fall asleep just about anywhere in here,” as Mal once said.

Brian undresses carefully and beautifully, and he doesn’t even notice how gorgeous he is being, which drives George a little bit insane. All of Brian Epstein, from the elegance to the grace to even the swearing and anger- drive George Martin wonderfully insane.
