Chapter Text

Warning: Painfully Cringey and tooth-rottingly sweet<3

"Ink hurry the fuck up."

The tall, glitchy skeleton monster yelled back to the shorter, generally more cheery one he was travelling with. 'I swear it seems like he walks slower without his brush.'

"Coming Error! You walk real fast for -huff- someone who spends most of his time sitting watching Undernovella."

The taller rolled his eyelights as the shorter caught his breath. "I don't walk fast you're just slow. Now come on before Classic decides to get his money back for our room and spend it on ketchup."

"Why are you in such a hurry anyway? It's not like we have any sort of time limit. Classic isn't going to do that he's too lazy to try and get a refund."

"Look I just want to get into bed as soon as possible so I'm not too tired for tomorrow's escapade with Cross and Dream."

"Since when were you interested in not falling asleep at ANY event??"

The smallest bit of blue blush came to Error's cheeks as Ink stood in front of him slightly too close and stared him down with his ever-changing eyelights. Currently they sat in a curious question mark with a green square.

Error gave Ink the most annoyed look he could muster. This came out looking less annoyed and more flustered as he avoided eye contact and pushed right past Ink while holding his scarf closer to his face, attempting to hide the growing blush forming on his cheeks.

Ink was startled by his counterparts sudden rush to get to the hotel. A small annoyed huff escaped him as he quickly caught up to the glitchy skeleton. Ink attempted to start conversation a few times on the walk there, but to no avail. Error was lost in both his scarf and his thoughts. 'Can he even breathe with how aggressively he's holding that to his face?'

After a few minutes of walking in silence the pair of skeletons arrived at a big, bright hotel with a huge sign in front that read 'MTT HOTEL!!! RESORT AND RESTARAUNT FOR HUMANS AND MONSTERS ALIKE!!!' both of them stood in front of the building, The taller checking to make sure this was the correct hotel and the shorter in awe of how big the sign was.

"Alright Ink let's go. Classic is inside waiting for us....Ink?"

Ink, however, did not hear a single word of what Error said, much to his chagrin. He was too busy staring at all the lights and colors on the front of the building with his big, shining eyelights. Error looked over to his short counterpart, his face immediately flushing almost completely blue as he stared at Inks adorable starstruck expression. 'My stars he looks cute like this' His sockets quickly widening at what he had just thought.

Eventually, Error stopped staring at Ink and grabbed his hand to drag him inside, all but smothering himself in his scarf. Ink made a small squeak as he was dragged inside, a small rainbow hued blush creeped onto his cheeks as he realized him and Error were essentially holding hands.

Error burst through the doors of the hotel with Ink in tow, startling the receptionist and Classic, who was leaning against the wall next to the door.

"heya error. heya ink...error are you ok?"

Classic walked over to the two skeletons. Their faces were practically glowing and they both seemed extremely flustered. The lazy skeleton looked the both of them over, attempting to find a reasoning for their expressions. He quickly noticed their hands slightly intertwined and he chuckled.

"Hello Classic. Yes I'm perfectly fine. There's nothing out of the ordinary. Why would you-why would you think so?"

The Destroyer said a bit too loudly, stumbling over his words near the end as he noticed His and Inks hands were still clasped together and quickly jerked his away in embarassment. 'fuckin shit. Maybe it's not a good thing ink doesn't trigger my haphephobia.'

" ink? are you alright?"

"Oh! Oh uhm yes, yes. I'm perfectly fine!" The short skeleton blurted out in response, shoving the hand that was formerly holding Error's into his pocket.

"alright well yalls room is ready. here's the key, don't lose it. oh and don't take anything from the minibar because if you do I am not paying for it."

Ink and Error both nodded as Error pocketed the key. They took the elevator to the floor their room was on and waved their goodbyes to classic.

"my room is 2 floors up. call me if you need anything."

"Alright."

"Ok!"

As the elevator doors closed the two made the way to their room. The walk down the hall was tense and quiet as the two aggressively avoided eye contact with each other. After what seemed like forever, they arrived at their room.

"Alright here's our stop."

Error quickly got the room key out of his pocket and opened the door. He took his first few steps in the room and then stopped dead in his tracks.

"Uhm Error? Why have you stopped?"

Error proceeded to bolt away from the door and look around the room. He sighed and pressed his phalanges to the bridge of his nose.

"Well it seems that Classic, in all his wonderful stupidity gave us a room with only one bed."

Ink took a moment to process what Error had said, and then tensed up at what the fact entailed. He looked over at Error, who was clearly trying to hide the blue tint to his cheekbones as frustration.

"Oh. Uh. Do you want me to sleep on the floor? Because I totally can." The taller shook his head.

"No no I'm calling classic to get this fixed. Besides if I let you sleep on the floor I will never hear the end of it from Cross I just know it"

He pulled out his phone and called Classic.

"yo."

"Classic. Why, pray tell, did you give us a room with only one bed?"

"the receptionist said that was all they had available for tonight."

"You have got to be fucking kidding me."

"nope. I didn't think it would be a problem since you and Ink are such good...friends."

Errors face immediately lit up like a Christmas light.

"Classic if you do not shut the fuck up I am going to dust you and your stupid edge lord boyfriend."

"hehe ok whatever you say. well unless you have the money to try and get some other room I can't help ya pal. see you in the morning I'm going to bed."

"YOU FUCKER- AAUGH!!"

Ink fiddled with his scarf, pretending not to hear the conversation or see Error's reaction. He stared out the window at the city below, mesmerized by how bright and vibrant it all looked at night.

"-sigh- Well it looks like we aren't getting another bed. I can sleep on the floor I guess."

"No no it's ok. We can...share the bed, maybe?"

He silently cursed himself for the suggestion, his cheekbones glowing a beautiful rainbow of colors.

"Yes I suppose we can. There doesn't seem to be any other not painful way to arrange this anyway."

"Oh! Uh ok then!"

They both stood in place awkwardly and blushed, the tension so thick it could be cut with a butter knife. Ink quietly took a seat on the edge of the bed. 'This bed isn't particularly big. I really hope I don't crowd him...'

"Right well I'm very tired and really would rather not be tired for tomorrow so I'm heading to bed."

"Yeah I'll go to sleep as well."

They then proceeded to silently prepare themselves for bed. Error took off his jacket, scarf, and long flowy pants (of which he was wearing basketball shorts underneath.) While Ink removed his overalls, shirt, sash, and scarf, his only form of coverage being his skin-tight leggings, leaving his tattooed ribs exposed.

Ink began his evening stretches while Error finished getting ready for bed. The glitchy skeleton glanced over to check on ink only to begin completely glowing once again. Ink was currently in a downward dog position and did not seem to notice Error's wide eyed staring.

It took a long while, but eventually Error tore his gaze away from the beautiful designs on the artists bones and went to get comfortable in bed. After about 5 more minutes Ink joined him, throwing himself onto the bed with a happy sigh.

"That was quite the stretch. Exactly what I needed."

Error hummed in response, using every bit of will and determination in him to keep his eyelights glued onto the screen of his phone and away from the torso of the other skeleton, who was currently sprawled out on the bed staring at the ceiling as if lost in thought.

"Error are you alright? You're looking rather flushed. Do you feel sick?"

Ink reached up to attempt and check Errors temperature, but his hand was lightly swatted away before he could do so.

"It's uh It's nothing. I'm fine."

Ink wore a puzzled expression and observed Error for a little while, trying to figure out the cause of his reaction. After a few minutes he saw Errors gaze wander over to his ribs and then quickly snap back to his phone, his face glowing all the brighter. His eyelights went from a question mark and a square to a heart and a little swirl as it dawned on him.

"Oh! I uh I can get my shirt back on if this makes you uncomfortable. I just sleep in my leggings usually."

"NO NO It's It's fine. You seem pretty comfortable It's perfectly fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. It's fine. I don't give a fuck."

Ink noticed his counterparts attempt at looking aloof only made his cheeks glow even more. He chuckled a bit internally.

Error stared even harder at his phone screen, his phalanges tapping and pressing on the screen so hard he thought the screen might crack. 'Son of a fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. I'm such a dumbass he definitely noticed that one."

The two of them sat there like that for what felt like a century, one tensely scrolling the other staring off into space. Error eventually glanced over to the small alarm clock on the sidewalk next to him. He was shocked to see that it was already 11:30, so decided to doze off.

"Alright I'm going to sleep. If you want to stay awake you're gonna have to stay in the dark or go somewhere else."

"Ok! I'll go to sleep too. I'm pretty exhausted"

Error got up, turned off the lights, and very very carefully got into bed, taking great care to not touch ink as he did so. After a few minutes they both got situated and began to fall asleep.

Ink was the first of the two to really fall asleep, making small, light snoring sounds after just a few minutes. Error relaxed and listened to Inks quiet breathing, unable to sleep. Eventually he began to fall out of consciousness himself slowly but surely drifting...Only to be startled awake by Ink rolling over and cuddling up to his back in his sleep. Error immediately flushed, but did not attempt to push the sleeping skeleton away. 'Oh gods he is so adorable.' He began to relax against the touch of the others bones against his. The sensation was oddly comforting, especially since touch normally felt violently painful. Following the sound of Inks breathing, Error quickly fell asleep.

The morning sun shone through the gaps in the curtain, illuminating the small hotel room the two skeletons were sleeping in. Ink stirred slightly, sockets fluttering open, his eyelights examining his surroundings reminding himself of where he was. He blinked a few times and tried to adjust himself only to gently hit his sleeping companions' ribs against his own. The sound of the slight tap made his sockets fly open as he became acutely aware that he was snuggled up to Error.

He jerked in surprise, his face flushing a bright, vibrant rainbow, but he did not move away from the other. After he had calmed down a bit he silently stared at the sleeping skeleton who he had his body curled up to. He looked so peaceful, the glitches and protrusions nearly non existent as he slept. Deciding that he was simply too cute to wake up, ink relaxed and laid back down next to Error, savoring the time he had in this close of a proximity to the other.

What ink did not seem to notice is that Error had already awoken the first time he jerked. He did his very best to be so completely still and tried to go back to sleep, but he couldn't stop from blushing when the artist cuddled back up to him. He felt his soul beat so violently he was sure it was going to leave his ribcage altogether.

The both of them pretended to be asleep and savored this moment of intimacy, not getting up or doing anything until it was time to leave.

Hope you enjoyed! I know it's pretty rough, but I'm trying to get back into the flow of writing for this. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!!
