reflections in the broken glass

Summary:

Reyu Rivera-Toshiko is a kind young teen who closes off many of his true feelings. He comes from a privileged life, but he struggles with a powerful and dangerous Quirk- and the inner turmoils of his unstable and unchecked emotions.

Taiyo Nakajima is a famous Pro Hero lawyer who graduated from UA, and has a past with Aizawa Shouta. He moonlights as Misery, Musutafu's most infamous and mysterious vigilante.

When their paths cross, these two individuals realize they may have more in common than they think.

Note: Taiyo and Reyu both use He/They pronouns, but are written with He here for simplicity.

Quirk: Blade Master

Using his blood, sweat, and tears, Reyu is capable of making a variety of blade-like weapons that can have varying levels of sentience.

Level 1: No sentience. Acts as a regular weapon.

Level 2: Can follow simple directions. Can also float around and move on their own.

Level 3: Can follow more complex directions and perform more complex movements.

Level 4: The highest level of sentience. Has all previous attributes, but also their own thoughts and emotions. However, they still lack free will and only follow Reyu’s command. There is only one such blade in this category: Degard.

Because Reyu’s blades are created out of his body’s vitamins and minerals, he has to keep a strict diet and healthy lifestyle. The higher the level, the more of these the blade will take. He also risks intense dehydration and low iron levels if he makes too many blades in the span of one battle. Overusing his body’s deposit of nutrients can lead to fainting, or possible death if he really pushes himself.

Quirk: Contain

Taiyo can contain virtually any object and seal it into his skin in the form of a small bump. When he touches the bump intending to release the object, it will be released and reform in the state it was captured in. The amount of time an object is contained can vary depending upon it. However, he cannot contain anything that weighs more than him, or is alive. The bumps can cause pain depending on the content of the objects, and how long he contains them.

The more powerful the item contained (ex: a blast of energy from an enemy) the more likely it is to be released on its own and harm him. His bumps can also scar. Containing and releasing objects repeatedly in one go can also weaken his Quirk and the duration of Containment.

Note: A neat visual for the bumps would be Killmonger’s scars from Black Panther.
