Five Pebbles was very very tired of this. He had never signed up for this, and even if he had, he would've been signing up for therapy, not unreasonable amounts of red paint spilled everywhere. This wasn't a children's hospital.
He spotted a can of beans in another room and grabbed it because this was Superliminal and you could do that, quickly ran through a handful of calculations in his head, and deducted that he would immediately die if he were to eat it. Why or how would he die? He had no idea. Not only was he a robot and couldn't eat, you couldn't even die in this game.
And so obviously, he ate the can of beans whole, actual can and all, and — just like he had predicted — promptly died.
